It was very clever to make masked guy ZH's 3rd enemy but I am not convinced with the motive of the character. Why he wanted Gui Seal? Why he wanted to annihilate Dongxia? His obsession was vague and no strong enough reason. I don't even understand the character.
At least with Marquis and Cao, they were really good antagonist. 3rd was good at plotting but lacked the character depth.
lol why blame the emperor for not keeping the Queen safe? She went ́ninja ́behind his back.
Because envoy's safety fall on the ruler/govt. And it would be so embarrassing for any ruler to kill an envoy. I was just making the guess that he isn't involved in either KD or Queen's death. I am not blaming him for not keeping them safe. He just isn't the one who has lot more control on how the court officials deal with threats.
Now I am started to guess Antu's sister also as 3rd enemy🫣. Just guessing coz now she got back her country's…
Unlikely. I don't think Dongxia is involved. When the KD's family was assassinated, the elder sister couldn't have came to the foreign land when she knows she is the heir and and her younger sister is already a hostage in this country. And the elder sister was never introduced up until now. We don't know how old she was back then.
And why would that Eunuch guy betray his own country? He could betray the Emperor and support another heir. But he won't help the enemy to take the seal. Remember how he tried to get the seal from the hostage princess.
He is either trying to save ZH from the fights with the most powerful or he's doing it for himself. He knew ZH was helping him for his own revenge, not because he considered him a friend.
Rn Marquis son is on the mission to bring back glory to his family as he promised his father. Maybe he would need the support of the 3rd enemy for this.
I don't think Emperor is involved in KD's death. He couldn't even control the court and keep the foreign Queen safe. The Queen is no threat to him as already defeated. It's embarrassing to kill an envoy and that too when you are king. This won't go very well with story tbh.
He cannot even keep the Queen safe, KD was just another official in his court. He couldn't have predicted that KD was unsafe, and would be followed/assassinated in his own home.
And it keeps getting better and better! Not sure who this might upset, but I gotta say this drama deserves more…
This drama started very well. A perfect 10 really. But now the subplot isn't as exciting as it was in the beginning, honestly. It still is very good show. Compare to the starting and the current episodes, it's nowhere same.
I binge-watched this in last 3 days, episode 1, they introduced zombies, episode 2, we got plastic surgery and new characters. It was really exciting to watch all that. But what's happening now... some of the side characters feel flat, there's no depth to them or any strong foundation. It's like they all were written with a story but it wasn't shown in the drama. It had unutilized potential in this regard. But the story, writing, script has been great throughout all the episodes till now. It still stands very well.
I’m on episode 24 now, at the banquet scene—and wow. Everything’s done so well. The plot is tight but still…
he's true representation of a narcissist and they tend to have very strong values (good or bad ones). he treats useful people very well and discards people when they aren't useful. how coldly he let the zhixin's mother die... and later on abandoned his first son too when he was of no use. he went all the way to take away the legal status of his wife. he's very calculating and ruthless. he adapts well to the situation. I actually love how well the character is written. and the actor is really good who played the marquis.
I caught up to the recent episodes, I am making the guess about the 3rd enemy.
It's probably a royalty, not a minister.
Why Zhuang Zhixin lied to Zhang Hai about the 3rd guy's identity?
Emperor doesn't have any heir, the throne goes to his brother or another relative. If it were any minister, he would have told him the truth or helped him take revenge. But I am guessing 3rd enemy is from the royal family or might inherit the throne. And Zhuang Zhixin would need the 3rd guy's support to establish himself in the court in the future when he comes back to capital from the borders. He doesn't want Zhang Hai to kill the guy who is possibly next in line for the ascension even tho he committed crimes but if the throne is left empty the country would lose it's stability.
In short, Zhuang Zhixin doesn't want Zhang Hai to mess up with the royalty, that's why he's made Dongxia Queen the bad guy so that Zhang Hai give up because he practically can't infiltrate Dongxia or plot against the Queen.
I'm still undecided whether to watch this drama or not. can someone answer my questions... Is the plot good? keeping you hooked to watch next episodes? or it gets boring after a few episodes?
