my theory is that Ji Ling is an extension of Long Shen. or maybe Ji Ling was a puppet created by Long Shen. and the reason on why Long Shen do such thing and created Ji Ling is unknown. maybe as an experiment or something of curiosity.

they should be honest with each other. relationship are build on trust, without trust, it would eventually collapse. he should've trust her more and revealed his identity to her. i meant in the drama many of Xie Zhang enemy including Su Yuanqian already knew that Fan Changyu is Marquis Wu'an's wife but she herself didn't know his true identity.
