GOT probably got it's basis from Chinese and Korean historical/mythology.
there is a Golden Empire of Yi Ti like i explained somewhere in the comment, and the Island of Leng properly inspired by Japan. and Jogos Nhai located north of the Yi Tish Border inspired by the Mongol

you don't need to recast them as an asian counterpart, in the book, the world of Ice and Fire (one of Game of throne book dive deep into the lores and histories of the known world) there is a civilisation located in the far east of the continent of Essos, beyond the Bone Mountain further east from Qarth, it is the Golden Empire of Yi Ti, the Empire inspired by the Chinese Civilisation, the successor of the Empire of the Dawn after its destruction during the long night, The Golden Empire of Yi Ti's predecessor was founded by God-on-Earth, the son of Lion of Night and Maiden-made-of-light (there two godly being of the Yi Tish Civilisation) and the Current Dynasty is the Azure Dynasty rules by Azure Emperor Bu Gai, it is a home to silk, literacy and ancient cultures long before the Valyrian Civilisation rose to power, Yi Ti is also known as "the land of a thousand gods and a hundred princes, ruled by one god-emperor", the Capital of the Golden Empire of Yi Ti is Yin, a port city and the most important of the Empire. It's south eastern border is the Shadow Land where dragons was reported to be originated from and various of unholy creatures roaming within the Shadow Land as well as the Corpse City of Stygai. Deep in the shadow land, there is a massive city where no children or animal present where the water was mutated poisoned to whomever drink it and it is called Asshai where the red Priest or Priestess come from, it is where the R'hllor, the lord of light religion originated from. you don't need an asian version of Westerosi tradition, you can keep the Game of Throne theme but explored deeper into the Golden Empire of Yi Ti and her Civilisation where the actual series never got to explained.

Yes, Chen Xing Xu is such a wonderful actor. He captures love, hatred, kindness, cruelty, playfulness, seriousness,…
i watched him before when he played other main character, he's played Yang Kang from the Legend of the Condor Heroes (2017 version) as the main antagonist and he portrayed that vicious character really well

when the first teaser out, i put this drama on Plan to Watch list and i look at the cast and the female lead (Pen Xiao Ren) is 6 years older than the male lead (Chen Xing Xu) (because i personally like older women and i am not interest with younger women) and when it's come out i was waiting for subbed and when it subbed i watched it and let me tell you, i got hooked to this drama immediately, this is by far the best drama of 2019, 2018 one is either Ash of Love or Legend of Fuyao (although the ending confused me) but Ash of Love is my top number 1 favourite drama in 2018

I watched the one with Huang Xiaoming and the one with Ariel Lin as a kid a long time agoThis story has a special…
the difference between this version and the 2008 version with Ariel Lin and Hu Ge is the story, in the 2008 version they made Yang Kang into redeemable good guy and he was killed by Ouyang Feng while the 2017 version one stayed true to the novel keep him as main antagonist and having Yang Kang died when he hit Huang Rong's poisonous armour with the nine ying white bone claw technique and the poison later killed him afterward, i think this version is better than 2008 version since it's follow the novel really well
