before pointing out problems, you should know that there is a language & culture barrier if You're watching something…
Ah okay. I understand what you mean now. Thanks ever so much for explaining, I really appreciate it! My Mandarin is very minimal, like my Japanese. I'm much better at Korean, and getting better at Thai also, but with Mandarin I'm mostly focussing on pronunciation of names and places; as I'm reading a Chinese book series, and my book is sprinkled with notes. lol. Thanks for your other comments below as well.

Also, at one point I don't know if it's a translation mistake but they traveled to "Helan Island" (if I remember…
Yeah, I saw in comments further down, that the "islands" they're travelling to later are actually just different places in France. lol

On Pit Babe May 16, 2024
Title Pit Babe Spoiler
Just on episode 2, and I don't usually have any problems with couple pairings at all; hell, I even came around to liking Pete/Vegas together, weirdly... But, I just don't get why Babe likes Charlie; like right from the get go, I don't see why he'd give him the time of day, let alone the opportunity he did. Their kissing is on point, but beyond that, and the fact that Charlie is a smidgen witty at times, I just don't see what Babe sees in him; Charlie doesn't seem to have any charisma at all, and out in the bare minimum, but still somehow managed to score Babe. It's baffling. Are Babe's standards that low, though Charlie is the first "boy" he's let stick around...why though...Babe's not even being cautious as to having him around, or leaving him unattended at his place. Every one else around Babe seems to have way more of an interesting personality than Charlie does. I know I sound meh for Charlie, 'cos I am, but I'm hoping my opinion of him will change; or I'm just going to end up watching to ship Alan/Jeff. Who seem way more interesting together, so far.

Netflix
And the episodes are longer, so there's only 16 episodes in total; Netflix tends to do this with K-Dramas when they're around 30mins long, to bring each episode up to around an hour.

Title Something in the Rain Spoiler
No matter how many times I watch this, I still can't get over how annoying the FL's mother is. Saying the ML and his sister are practically worthless because they don't have parents. Okay, one of their parents is dead, and the other is absent, but they're both grown adults. Even the FL is nearing forty, and yet her mother is still trying to control everything she does. I know there's cultural differences, but come on; I would have moved in with ML if I was her, or his sister. What's just as ugh, is the breakup, her getting a new boyfriend, and then the ML and FL getting back together. FL should have stayed single or...what is it with dramas and one half of the couple goes abroad for a while, and then zero communication happens between them, even if they don't break up and stay together; it's so bizarre, frustrating, and the inevitable time skip annoys me so much. If it wasn't for the ML, I wouldn't be here...again.

One problem, thoughout the whole series, so far. Why would you assume I don't know anything about language and culture barriers, or do you mean differences? Culture, language, and/or differences don't excuse homophobia. It's not like the Chinese government, same-sex censorship, and their laws against gay people are a huge secret. I didn't justify anything. I didn't justify anything, but it does sound like you're making an excuse and justifying the existance of the homophobia in that scene. She literally was talking about his sexuality, and it rubbed me the wrong way. You feel a different way, fair enough, there's nothing I can do about that, or care to; but I'm not going to change my opinion about that problematic scene.

Can you please tell me where their initial location is? There's so much conflicting information given, I'm really…
Thanks. I did look further down at other comments afterwards, that explained a lot and cleared up my confusion.

Hi, no - it starts in Finland and quite a lot of episodes are done in Finland so much so I had the feeling I do…
Ah, I didn't know that. And that's why I was so confused as to the location. lol. What a drastic change from the book.

Hey! Yeah, in the last 15 minutes of episode 1, they mentioned "Hull" a lot, and yep, snooker is pretty big in England, along with ten pin bowling, golf, darts, and some other sports. Thanks for the extra information, much appreciated!

Comment thread further down says they're initially in Finland, so that's that mystery solved. lol

Gah! I've been so confused as to their location, and I'm only on episode 1. lol. Subtitles in the opening episode said Hull, which is a place in England, but the main description here says a different place. and then the first episode description references a pub, which is on par for England, a long with all the other people speaking English, and a lot of English signs; but then there's the conflicting information of the taxi numberplate, road signs, train destination, and Euros. I was so confused until reading this thread of comments, and ilthe confusion was diminishing my enjoyment of the episode.

On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love May 10, 2024
I'm a bit confused as to their location. First episode description says a pub abroad. Opening episode subtitles said "Hull", which is in England, but description here says different. In England we call bars "pubs". Lots of business people are speaking English, there's also signs in English, and yet there's a lot of inconsistencies. Taxi numberplate wasn't an English setup, the ML's friend had Euros, instead of British Pounds, and the snowstorm is was too severe for Hull, let alone England. But the. road signs and the train destination wasn't English. Like, where even are they? Okay, I'm a lot confused, and it's bugging me so much that it's taking away my enjoyment of the series; I'm only thirty minutes in to the first episode.

It's not out yet. It's the TV series, that's set before this one, that's on Netflix.
I doubt it, especially as it's set to be released soon, and as this film is set ten years after the events that happened in last episode.

Title Tune in for Love Spoiler
I was good, but I'd have like it, if at the end, FL would have apologised for just up and leaving him when ML…
Her not apologising, and him being happy, gave the impression that her apology wasn't needed, when I believe it was, or they would have shown him sad and her apology.

No, I wouldn't imagine she ended up apologising after it ended, as it should have been the first thing she done. Him being all happy shows the need for her to outright apologise to him wasn't necessary, or they would have shown him not happy and her apology. That's the message the ending gave me.

I'm really liking this but...I'm on episode 20 and I have a bone to pick: ******ML: There's something different about you.FL: You actually noticed my lipstick. Are you straight?ML: You're wearing lipstick?FL: Oh, you didn't notice. You are straight. ******Such a stupid gay male harmful stereotype, that didn't need to be added in at all. It wouldn't be gay to notice something different about someone you like; it happens all the time in real life. Plus, they're in game development, it would make even more sense to notice something like that about her, especially with the high focus on character design; it's odd to highlight that he didn't notice it, let alone in the crappy way the writer(s) pointed it out. Hero's Path is about not destroying, but defeating, those you're up against, coming together, and co-existing in harmony, and yet the writer(s) inserted that unnecessary crappy homophobic exchange between the main leads. I know it was one-sided, but what the duck! Thanks for reminding me how homophobic the Chinese government is, I guess... (Paragraph formatting is not showing correctly within the app. Sorry )

the FL is not spicy enough. she doesn’t suit the description of the gamer character she is reputed to be. needed…
Peoples characters are rarely the same when gaming compared to how they are in real life; people tend to be more confident behind a screen, even if they're not gaming.

Aww, that was pretty good. Just the wait for the last five episodes to be added to Netflix was not fun; at least they're all there now, for future viewers.
