There was no happy ending. LM died and the female lead went to jail for something so ridiculous as excessive self defense when it was obvious that it was their lives or the offender. I am so glad I fast forward and not sat there watching the entire series and drive myself crazy over the injustices and the “good” cop. Justice is funny like that sometimes. You get none but suffering and despair.

Not particular to this drama I am currently watching “When Destiny Brings The Demon” and I blush almost every episode. Sima Jao is one of the best ML to date in Chinese drama land.
