My part is the “But a dream” OST

To start this off, I will say overall this story was nice, the fantasy twist was an inch away from ruining it but it salvaged itself in the end.

I think one of my favorite things about this drama is that there was so 2nd leads drama, it was all a bunch of people in love trying to actually be together, from beginning to end, which in kdramas I genuinely think is unique.

The fantasy part, the body switching, up to episode 12 I genuinely disliked that, I felt like it was such a useless plot addition that changed absolutely nothing. However, in the last 2 episodes I was proven wrong, I’m glad they gave it an actual purpose, them switching bodies before they infiltrated that mountain base was certainly smarter since our FL genuinely won’t have anything to do there. And the body switching in the end, well when you think logically it feels useless since in the end they both are alive, but it tugged on my heartstrings so much.

The villain story pissed me off more than made me sad, like yea I get it too, he did so much for her for all those years, all he wanted was her, seeing him put the vow in her mirror just because maybe it might help her recover her memories was sweet, I also understand him “giving her away” because he believed that the king has money and will definitely spoil her more, BUT, bro did not even try, genuinely if he wanted to at the time, he could have. But I will say amazing acting cause their end did make me feel sorry for them, in the end they both loved each other.

The OSTs are all so good but “But a dream” is such a good song, I’m basically listening to it every day.

So yea overall, this was worth the watch.

Disappointing

1/ I don’t feel the slightest attraction from the couple (especially from the fl)
2/ You are taking care of a pet hospital, for someone who cares so much about animals girlie just signs and doesn’t care to check things
3/ the ml is too ungrateful, what do you mean she moved in with you cause YOU pretended she was ur doctor and now you get annoyed at the slightest bullshit.
Honestly the only reason I watched so far is because of the animals that were too cute. Overall the plot was not bad, acting was a little bit meh, genuinely think the romance between them was non existent (maybe it gets better after 21 episodes but I’m not sticking around to finish that)

Overall, super fun.

So let’s start this off, I will list down the things I liked and the things I didn’t like in this.
- Plot overall, I enjoyed it. I’m quite a fan of mystery and triller novels so I found this fun to pursue, I started suspecting both of the Drs around mid drama but I felt like there wasn’t enough conclusive evidence. I never truly suspected that Yang Jungho was the killer but I was sure he was either an accomplice or knew the killer. And that led me to « oh so he must be protecting an orphan from the orphanage he lived in » but the question was who? Considering that we didn’t know enough about the Drs and everybody else, it was a bit tough to navigate but that made it all the more fun.
- I think a vital part of mystery and triller series or novels, is actually explaining how the murders were done, so I’m relatively sad that didn’t happen here, I’m glad we got a small clue as to why lee miyoung’s death was prolonged compared to the others (the music) but it didn’t feel satisfactory in a way not showing the murders, even though Ena in her analysis did predict pretty accurately how they did happen.
- I think that showcasing Ena as a bit emotionaless is supposed to be « oh she has a higher IQ and less EQ than the average person » so it’s more than her being quirky or weird, it’s that she genuinely has less EQ which crumbles a bit at the end when we see her talk with Lee Seujong and trying to convince her to not kill herself. There were definitely other scenes where you see her emotions seep up a bit, but that one was the only one in which we see her vulnerable in a way.
I think that’s overall it, I don’t have a lot of complaints because I genuinely felt excited watching this, it gave me that thrill of « oh let’s actually try to find the killer before Ena does » which was fun.

Absolutely love this!

This is genuinely one of my favorite chinese dramas ever. Absolutely loved the acting of almost all actors and obviously especially the fl and ml, they had so much chemistry and they got cuter the more I watched.

On another side note, I truly believe that the last “plot twist” was so unnecessary, could have kept Chu Zhou, dude manipulated literally one of the most powerful people in the empire but could not think logically because he was ..”in love”? I do like that XingYing (I think that was her name) died because he didn’t appreciate her enough, all this time he was all about He Yan being special meanwhile his maid went to such extreme lengths for him and he was just like 🧑‍🦯

it’s cute but the ending was so rushed

The entire thing was not top tier or anything but I genuinely enjoyed it. I especially liked the way they portrayed the story, in the end the king was maybe bad, but even if he wasn’t he still would have been known as bad because that’s what the winner (prince jesan) decided. In the end, the ones who win are the ones who tell the story how they want. So I found that nice honesty.
Acting was good, both FL and ML played their roles really well for me.
The cooking aspect was enjoyable, I don’t know about other Kdrama watchers but maybe anime influenced me in this aspect so it felt like a slice of life cooking kdrama which made me unwind if anything.
However the ending… Ending it with “how he came to find me is not important cause now we’re together”..is very annoying. I don’t what happened with the production to want to wrap it up like that or maybe that’s how it was meant to be, but 1 more episode could have explained a few things, like what happened to his people who took over the palace? , like how he came to future? , and when he met her in the restaurant he was already well dressed in a normal outfit so how did that happen? , how did even find her?
So yea I enjoyed a whole 11 episodes of this, but the last part was so rushed it frustrated me.
