Okay!!! I enjoyed this show- finished episode 12 I think they could have done a lot better with it but am still okay with how they used the source material. There were too many flashbacks in that last episode..

The struggles were too much please!! like how much or many tangarines do we need! I couldn’t finish it I tried. The high rating is questionable but different opinions I suppose. The kids seemed like spoiled brats in differing degrees but still spoiled nonetheless. You can clearly see your family situation so you work and strive for better accept help where help is offered and move on.

I felt the same way at first, but I actually think Xiao Fan changes quite a lot as the story progresses. He starts challenging his family more and doesn’t simply accept Lu Qing’s behaviour anymore. Even when he goes back to him, I don’t think he’s the same person he was at the beginning.

I also think we need to look at what Xiao Fan is dealing with a family that constantly undermines and uses him, and in-laws who do much the same in a different way. He desperately wants to strike out on his own but is constantly weighed down by family obligations.

And I think Lu Qing changes too. In the later episodes we see much more emotion from him; the way he clearly claims Xiao Fan, the little affectionate touches, their identical apartments, and the way he expresses his love more through actions than words. He isn’t suddenly openly romantic, but his feelings become much clearer.

The lack of communication between them is frustrating 😂, but I think we also have to ask how free are they really to communicate openly? Xiao Fan is married to Lu Qing’s sister, after all. Their situation is incredibly complicated.

I also think it helps to view the story in the context of early-90s China. Family duty, marriage, reputation and expectations carried enormous weight. If we judge everything purely through a modern Western lens, I think we miss some of the subtlety of both characters.

They’re both frustrating at times 😂, but I think there’s actually quite a lot of development happening beneath the surface. You will love the next episode

I have mixed feelings about the time transition. I was expecting a bit more push pull between them. They definitely changed the novel in this dramatisation in a good way because eish the novel had me questioning all sorts of things. Little Jane was wearing his heart on his sleeve and Big Jane was all emotional eyes loved it. Big Jane was super hot, dressed to the nines my kind of CEO. Little Jane’s stylist needs to find him clothes that fit please. Looking forward to more and curious to see what else they have changed from the novel!!

Ongsa has some of the most dreamiest eyes I have seen in a while so expressive. He is similar to
the Little Jane.

He is an amazing actor. loving the leads too but Pond is definitely one of the greats of this generation. He was so good in 180 degree longitude. I have been a fan since then. Didn’t enjoy him in Fourever but I think this was more the writing and directing that Pond himself.

who can’t act. Weak story line and poor vibes, yet somehow mflow managed to keep you watching!!! Most of their shows always lack strong writing, direction or acting but they just create enough of a mess to keep you mesmerised 😅😅😭

I came back to rewatch as I have been watching Payback and it’s very similar vibes and am not disappointed gave me the lighter version that I needed. currently on the last episode and noticed the goons were wearing matching ties to Thiwthit! now tomorrow back to Payback!

I found it enjoyable and an easy watch. Nothing too complicated, my issues were around the writing and the direction. Plot holes and things that gaysorn should not be able to do or say because he was from the mountains that he could. There was a lack of consistency with his character that sort of ruined it for me. Also Scent loving him just came from nowhere I didn’t feel like it made sense with the writing.

I enjoyed this series and it was an easy watch for me. The ending was good but felt anti climatic to say the least. There were a few plot holes throughout in particular the last episode but regardless Phop’s explanations vaguely covered them. I actually found this pairing between Net and JJ more enjoyable to watch than Net James. Maybe it was Bed-friends that put me off.

Seriously what did you watch? I saw double helix and was like what the hell is this show- May that kind of love never fine me!! kidnapped, assaulted, lied to the toxicity list goes on.

This episode was fire. Really enjoyed it. This show took me a minute to warm up to it but once i got in it was game over. Qin is very sensual and love how Duang wears his heart on his sleeves, you can literally see everything he’s feeling on his face and body language
