I liked the second part more, the first part is the same old story I've read and seen over and over again, the second part was more interesting, I kind of wish that they would ditch the first part and developed the second more. I also don't know what to think about Nomura Mansai performance as "Poirot", it was very theatrical and, because of that, stood out from the others (probably another reason why I like the second part more he appears less there).
So many messed up characters, for me Ando was the most messed up, because it wasn't as obvious as with, say, the wife or the mother, his love for Sugishita was not healthy and he was walking the same path of jealousy as the Noguchi couple. But at least he tried to help Nishizaki afterwards, so maybe that experience helped him in a way, maybe I missed it but I wonder if Nishizaki ever found out the real reason.
Nishizaki ended up being my most favourite character here, despite or maybe because of his flaws.
First time ever rooting for a serial killer! Yes, Shingai twins were both crazy!
Yep same here, it's actually the first time for me to root for any character in jdrama, never mind a killer. Now I want to see everything Ikematsu Sosuke is in.
So...in comparison to manga how much of a creeper Takane is in here? Him being a creep was the sole reason I dropped…
Well up to the point that I had read it she never really stood up for herself, she was more than fine with being locked up. I never said that she was innocent though, what irked me was the fact that both her and his behaviors were written as if this is how things should be, as if it all was romantic and great. There are many stories that have unhealthy romance between broken individuals, but in those the author typically acknowledges the fact that they are broken individuals and as I was reading the manga I was expecting at least a hint into that direction, but the more I was reading the more I was getting the impression that the author actually was writing this as some sort of great romance and while I do not know if later this changes, I had to stop.
I'm actually fine with her sleeping around, I don't see it as particularly empowering, but I don't see it as something bad either, if nothing else I feel that at least this is in line with her character.

Well there are many things he does, like stalking and all, but the one thing that made me think "ok, i've had enough" was when he dragged her to his home and locked her up, he actually locked the door so she couldn't escape as if it was the most natural thing to do. And if I'm not mistaken (it's been a while since I've touched it) Junko was completely fine with it because it couldn't be helped since he is a traditional man or something like that. At that point I just rolled my eyes and never read it any further. When I first started to read I was expecting his possessiveness to be portrayed in negative light, or at least with some skepticism and resistance, but nope it's all rainbows and unicorns.
So basically in the manga you have a spineless woman, a creepy man and a third wheel. Not my cup of tea.
I liked the concept of it, the execution - not so much. The thing I'm having problem with here the most is that it fails to make me care about its characters. It's not the acting, there is something disengaging about the characters that make me not think of them as real people with real problems, they are more of vehicle of the drama's concept than people/characters.
would rate higher, since the plot is good, but unfortunately all the non-japanese actors use japanese intonation while speaking english, it all sounds just plain terrible.
9/10 Is This a mystery? No. Because we know pretty early on, who the villain is. Yes, I thought the story might…
yeah, i agree, the female lead doesn't make professional woman look bad, if nothing else she is portrayed as a rookie coming of age and gaining more and more confidence as the story progress.
Overall it was fun and for once it had a good balance between action and introspection. JDrama are typically very introspective and when you first see it, you might think "wow, cool" but after a while it becomes stale, so I thought this change in pace was nice. I also liked that there is an actual character development here, even if it is just one character who gets it, i guess it's because she is the core of this story in more way than one.
Wow, what a drama. This is full of excellent performances, that it would be unfair to pick anyone out. Excellent…
if by he you mean Lee Ho Sung, he didn't know it was there, since he never though to look for the chip in the car, this is why Park Jeong Hwan made him chase him, to drive attention away. When Lee Ho Sung delivered the papers he was smirking because he though that he and the minister had won.
