like solia, I drop a drama mostly when I lose interest in it and feel that nothing of importance is happening, I also drop a show that fails to grab my attention in the first couple episodes, because I feel that it would be better to spend my time on the more engaging ones first. There are some exceptions though:

In Secret Door, both Lee Je Hoon and Han Seok Kyu do such a great job in their roles that I find it very stressful to watch (especially since I know the ending). Empress Ki is an interesting series but, as silly as it sounds, I can't unsee Joo Jin Mo as the kind in Frozen Flower, so it's a nope for me.

Although it is an action packed series and the action scenes are done very well, essentially this is more of a love story than anything else. I really enjoy Yoo Sung-Yeol writing, he did well with Cruel City and this one is as good. Among other things the show isn't afraid to break the fourth wall and mock itself. Kim Mu Yeol is phenomenal in his role as Kim Do Hyeong.

If I had to point flaws, that would be the overuse of flashbacks (the ones that don't add anything new to the story, because there are some very important story-adding ones as well), watching the episodes side by side made me very aware of their repetitiveness. The other flaw is the repetitiveness of the OST, kind of goes hand in hand with the repetitiveness of the flashbacks. The OST itself is great, the songs are nice and moody, but they could have use an instrumental, less intrusive, version of it on many occasions instead of the full vocal one.

Somewhat melodramatic, rather simple but compelling story that is carried by its excellent characters and probably one of the few times where an overused trope (not saying which since it's spoilery) is used with a degree of success.

Even if it's one of his earlier drama Yoon Kye Sang is very good in his role, the are moments where he nails the mood so perfectly, it is delightful to watch.

I almost liked everything if not for that annoying main woman lead such an idiot bitch ...
Yep, she completely forgot her brains in her other pants. I still had hopes for her when she followed her father in the last couple episodes thinking that maybe, just maybe, she did it on purpose, but no such luck, she is a brainless amoeba.

Extremely pretty movie, Keishi Ohtomo and Takuro Ishizaka make a good pair, good action scenes, Sato Takeru rocks as Kenshin and the rest of the cast is good as well, but the story itself is lukewarm, there is too much going on with the introductions and two subplots and whatnot, i kinda wish they would focus on one thing and take a bit more liberal approach with the source material so that the film could stand in its own right and not just as prologue.

Too bad they didn't decide to go for the "Samurai X - Trust and Betrayel "arc; that would have been…
Trust and Betrayel is a masterpiece, I think it was a wise choice to leave it alone because it would be difficult to top what was already done in it. Now if they would made a movie that would follow the ova scene for scene and line for line I would not mind that at all.

I have to agree with you Nadoosha, the sword sound effects as well as the other sound effects were poorly done.…
yeah, the translation (at least the one I've found) is as if it was done via google, well at least one can get the general sense of what's going on. The script itself is ok, the story is interesting, but some of the actors and the overall production are just meh.

Title Poongsan
I can't compare this movie to The Man from Nowhere, on the surface they might look similar, but at their core they are very different, especially if you pay attention to the symbolism in Poongsan.

That's because this is a movie about the relationship between Kong Jin and Dol Seok and what it means to be a (royal) tailor. In the end Kong Jin achieved immortality. Everything else is a tool used to develop their story. There is no romance between the queen and Kon Jin, at least not in the traditional dramaland sense.
