Yea just finished it ans was like i thought the king wanted to remove the empress, and the grand princesses said she was gonna do something but the whole wedding just past, not even kissing scene of leads in there bed chamber,

That other girl in palace didnt get punished for locking her during competition.

Im enjoying this series and didnt watch th3 donghua. But having seen alot of xian xia series this one doesnt have epic moments and the dialogue at times r redudant. Its good they have team work etc, but looks rather lame when there just standing ther3 while ts give orders n no enemy attacks. It shudda been run around arena cover one another and coordinate attacks and showing actions ascenes and characters moving instead of being stationary.
Guys any good drama with the same premise as this one? Where main lead is incredibly gifted and joins an academy…

For low budget series set pieces costumes cgi is very good. Comedy is well done also. Episode 19 is one of my favorites especially them singing the little sweet song fron love 020 drama

Check out love and redemption better cgi and fights. Once upon a time in Lingjian on netflix is good also. I think Xu Kai play these characters better and should've been tang san.
Fan of xz also and mainly anything fantasy wuxia. But the set pieces, back ground music, and cgi doesnt feel high…
Costumes r good but i think like city setting etc they shouldnt have made it look all barren wasteland type. Looks alot lile martial universe which doesnt look as nice as traditional wuxia or xianxia dramas

It probably could be there really is 2 seasons thats probably being in production n filmed at same time so more budget going towards second season.
Like alot of the fights r so short and badly choregraphed. First fight i think to get into the shek academy was best in terms of camera work cgi etc.
Music are often used at wrong time, script try to focus on all the character's then they end up doing nothing to help.
This could've been low budget but the editing isnt well done. Im enjoying it bc i lile all the actor's and interaction but man it would he so much better if the action scenes were done better or better background or used at right time.

I expected so much from this series coming from watching Spirit Realm aka A World of Fantasy. Didnt watch the donghua but heard it have better fights and characters developments. Hop3 season 2 has same cast and just continues the storyline.
So far enjoying the series... only thingy is i wished they had better ost for background music and make the series wide screen and use brighter color pallette. Something like Once Upon A Time in Lingjian or Dance of Sky Empire. Fits overall mood of the series.
