I never liked itazura na kiss, the korean version was a huge turnoff. Hope this one might tweak things a bit.
Actually most K drama heroines have no self respect either. It's strangely frustrating to watch such characters. This is probably why I appreciate strong female leads so much.

For starters, the manga has repeated instances of Kotoko's humiliation at the hands of Irie kun and this is shown to be the equivalent of a romantic push-pull which is like trivializing the issue. Basically the guy treats her like dirt under his bootsoles and shows occasional kindness only when he feels like it. His 'love' (if what he feels for Kotoko may indeed be called that) is of a patronizing kind, like he is doing some kind of favour by being nice to the girl. Also, post-marriage the guy gets unnecessarily jealous treating his wife terribly in the process without once bothering to verify facts first. That is exactly the sort of male chauvinist husband who is a woman's worst nightmare.
I watched/read the anime/manga as a teen and loved it but years later I realized the original story is riddled with sexist cliches (girl has to play second fiddle to boy forever).
To answer your second question, I want to watch this because I loved Aomike in Full House Thai and I am always interested in diverse interpretations of the same original story.

Yep the sexism in the drama was just horrendous. But unfortunately the original manga and anime adaptation are no good in this regard either. Hope they tone down the horribleness of the male lead's character in this one.
For me, this drama is really boring and I'm have to force myself to finish it! Really, I respect but I don't know…
Agree. The Japanese version was clearly the best adaptation because Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao were way more convincing in their respective roles. And Gu Hye Sun cannot act to save her life.
I agree wholeheartedly. I too was very much intrigued by the medical approach. Even the surgeries were well done,…
Glad you agree. I loved the premise initially and the writer's treatment of vampirism but it all went haywire after the first few eps. It could have been a great drama but sadly isn't. :(
Ahn Jae Hyeon is very bad at acting.... every one's acting sucks in this drama
I disagree. Goo Hye Sun has been the one who has done badly from the first episode although I see her getting better in the latter episodes. Ahn Jae Hyun has done considerably well for a rookie. Most of the comments about his acting are unfair. In some of the romantic scenes and when he is showing his anger, he is weak but I can see that he is trying his level best. Netizens need to cut him some slack!
Is it me or is this season just not up to the standards of the previous INR versions? I just can't feel the 'romance'…
Yes he is but there's very little focus on them in the beginning. Which is why I can't bring myself to care for him or Min Jung's romance. And this is not to mention they look hopelessly mismatched.
I think only Min Jung makes an impression as a multidimensional side character.

I feel individually Kim So Yeon and Sung Joon are talented actors but together they don't really fit. I have no problem with noona romances but I feel the two of them have very little physical chemistry (their kissing scenes don't really make me feel much). Besides, for most of the series Joo Yeon doesn't even realize who she truly loves. So technically there's no romance in this one.
Another negative is the side characters like Hee Jae, Woo Young and Min Jung. None of them are terribly interesting. The previous INR versions had solid parallel love stories which is missing here. Lastly, Namgoong Min's character has been a solid disappointment - I wanted a second male lead to root for but the writers have turned him into a heartless bastard instead.
But of course, all this is what I personally feel.
Jung Hwan-ah!
