I really liked season one and I like the cases on season two so far (I'm on ep. 20) but now it's more evident…
I honestly feel similarly. I just finished episode 16 and I feel like Shen Yi just keeps getting more and more OP as the season progresses - he's a genius artist, a genius criminal psychologist (which is new this season - there were splashes of it last season, but it was believable in the context of knowing art history/color theory etc), and now basically a forensic anthropologist. Also, he's decided to start developing his own way of predicting/sussing out criminal behavior (aka profiling which is already established with decades of thorough research and analysis). I'm still enjoying the show but the suspension of disbelief has been stretched to the max and is pretty much broken at this point ^^'
It could be that I feel this way because I literally just watched s1 and immediately started s2 so the differences and 'leveling up' are much more jarring to me *shrug*
It's a literal translation of a Chinese idiom I believe, which basically means jealousy, generally in a romantic way (at least I've only ever really seen it used between lovers, but someone correct me if that's not entirely correct)
So they're basically saying DC is jealous over SY interacting with that Fang dude
Chingu 🙌🏻I did not have time to feel empty yesterday since I watched 20 episodes of Under the Skin season…
lol I also just binged Under the Skin s1 while waiting for Blossom to finish - but now with the gap and 1 ep per day until the end I’ve moved onto UtS s2!
If they already used guns once why stop and use swords again and then crossbows come in against swords, but yeah,…
Probably because guns were in their infancy at this point and were not faster than swords/arrows in that you literally had to load the gunpowder and pellets/bullets, light a fuse and wait for it get to the gunpowder and then hope you aimed well.
(As of 23 where I am), it worked initially as a surprise, but alone it wouldn't have helped them at all as they had limited gunpowder and the time between shots too great.
JFC why don't you all take up pitchforks and torches at this point? You've got the witch hunt part down perfectly. 100%
Between bullying and attacking newer fans, if this is how XK "fans" are behaving here, I'm out. I still love him to pieces, but you're giving him a very bad look by gang bullying people here. If you think someone is a troll, block them, ignore them. I honestly think many of you are too f*cking hypersensitive to anything possibly negative about XK, which is delulu fan behavior. Ya'll making yourselves look like the pretentious a**holes and fools because one person on here speaks bluntly and isn't 150% in delulu love with XK. Way to make this page incredibly UNwelcoming to everyone. Have fun with your hate party. I'm pretty sure Xu Kai would also be disappointed in this behavior from his so-called "fans"
does anyone know if this will air at Q1 or Q2 of 2025?
No one knows when this will air yet - it hasn't even passed review or received its distribution license, both of which are required by the Chinese government before a drama can air.
My guess (and this is pure conjecture and by no means meant to be taken as fact), we'll be lucky to get this in Q1 or even early Q2 of 2025, so I'm thinking late Q2 or Q3 may be a safe bet. I also bet that we'll see Fire Investigator (the drama XK filmed after this drama) before MR, as it's shorter and likely has less post-filming production requirements (e.g., dubbing, CGI, etc)
Tomorrow, those of you who watch express first plz tell us whether it’s an HE or something else! Thanks!
Seconded - I'm still paused at episode 22 so that I can just binge the rest of the show. I will finish this regardless of HE or SE, but if it's the latter I need to emotionally prepare myself before watching :')
So I stopped watching after 22 in hopes that I could let episodes build up and I could binge until the end. . . but based on the current schedule are we really looking at another week of just one episode per day? I may perish if I have to wait another week. I'm already almost done with the other drama I started to distract me from this show T___T
(And before anyone recs otherwise, I refuse to pay for Express and I don't do illegal sites. Out of principle on the first, and hard limit on the latter.)
Oh this drama must be doing quite well if the ultimate gremlin troll of MDL has decided to fart in the comments. Some…
Really? That's it? That's all you can come up with after . . . 3 days to come up with a perfect snap back? Woooooow, that's pathetic.
In fact, it's almost as pathetic as your obvious insecurity around your precious goddess' image, popularity, and talent that makes you attack any other hard-working female actresses that so much as get attention and publicity. That says a whole lot more about you and your feelings about ZLY than any of the women you continuously degrade on this site.
And honestly? I don't know much about ZLY, I dropped the only drama I've started that stars her, but if she's got fans like you, I'm really not interested.
In Season 1, Princess Taiping only suspects that LLF is her son based on some circumstantial evidence but it was…
I thought it was basically confirmed though? I think it's the end of season 1 where she sees LLF's hand where he has a birthmark in the exact same location as her son. He was adopted from the same temple at which she left her son. He remembers her visiting him (even though she hid her relation to him at the time). At some point, it was also confirmed that LLF's adopted father/uncle lied about his age, and that his real age matches with her son. (My theory is that LLF's birth father hid his true identity as a member of the Lu family in order to seduce the princess as part of a grander scheme to overthrow her mother - which is why LLF's adopted uncle hated her so much, found LLF at the temple, and raised him as his own son. He really is a Lu by blood.)
It was never any specific moment where a character explicitly said "LLF is Taiping's son," but a collection of small clues that led me (and Taiping, SWM, and LLF) to realize the truth. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I'm fairly certain LLF being Taiping's son is 100% legit
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
This is a sequel to the first season - Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty. You could probably get away with just watching this one, but I wouldn't recommend it. Some of the cases in this season relate directly to previous events/cases from the first season so you will likely be confused and lack context. You will also not really understand the relationships between the main group of characters well.
That said, I highly recommend this series - both seasons are truly excellent, particularly if you enjoy historical settings, a darker thematic tone, and the mystery genre itself. I liken this to a Tang Dynasty version of Scooby Doo but without the cartoon dog and teenage delinquency - in that a major plot point in this show is essentially debunking supposed paranormal phenomena and exposing the very human and very mortal con-artists behind the curtain. It's fun, it's intriguing, it's well-written, and has a great cast of characters. If you decide to watch, I hope you enjoy!
I feel like every drama starts to get boring once the focus shifts to romance.
Well, then I think it's safe to say that the Romance genre as a whole isn't your cup of tea! There are numerous C- and K-dramas that do not focus on romance, so I recommend checking those out so that you can find enjoyment in what you watch :)
(PS - Just because I'm still not over it and I'm very much looking forward to the third season, if you like period/historical settings, darker tone, and mystery genre, I highly highly recommend Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty - both seasons are excellent. There is a splash of romance thrown in, but is by no means a focus)

The height difference also gets me 🤭

I have other dramas I can watch in the meantime *shrug*
Looks like I'll be keeping this on hold for at least a week then *sigh*

That's the main reason I haven't watched SOYP . . .
