Yes, because apparently a man treating the woman he supposedly loves like an ACTUAL human being with her own thoughts, emotions, goals, and dreams as well as being considerate toward her and respecting her choices as just a decent fellow person should do is somehow a weakness and him being a “simp” 🙄

And people wonder why there’s a “male loneliness epidemic”. The reason seems obvious to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Looks like it’s based on tagging. I was able to go onto Spring Of the Blade’s page and tag Xu Kai in one of the official stills that was recently uploaded. If you click on a photo on a drama page and scroll down, there should now be a tagging option (still needs to be approved before appearing on his page though)

The only MW drama I had seen before was Only For Love with Bai Lu and Dylan Wang as leads . . . and I liked him just fine, but that drama overall was kinda meh. BUT I’m currently watching Love Beyond the Grave and he’s lowkey giving me second male lead syndrome (which rarely happens for me haha) so I’m now more excited to see him and XK together

Me too, I prefer their subs and will likely watch this again on Viki if they do pick it up

You can always submit a request for this show on Viki. I’ve also noticed they sometimes have a significant delay of some dramas so it may still pop up there 🤞🏻

I forgot you can do that! It may be good to request this particular drama then. Even with XK starring, this isn’t a genre Viki highlights that often outside of K-dramas

In the past, most dramas have not appeared on international WeTV until after they premiere (or at least in the US) so it’s not surprising 800 isn’t showing up yet

I’m hoping Viki will pick this up because I hate how WeTV is set up (no TV app)

But I will shell out at least one month subscription to WeTV if I must

I don’t think they ever officially announced an episode count for this one (though someone correct me if I’m wrong) . . . Episode counts commonly change after the review process anyway, so we likely won’t have an official number for a while

According to Marcus here!, the sixth billed/guest star actress Wang Zhen Er was moved up to first billing, replacing Wei Daxun because of his character's villain status - so it doesn't appear he was an exception. Must be a super new CCP policy though since they're switching billing order around right before dramas air

Either way, the whole concept of billing order and the fan drama surrounding it is dumb in my opinion, so whether XK is first billed or not in this drama doesn't matter much to me. Him being first billed in other dramas as the hero ML hasn't protected his scenes from being reduced so what's the point of it all anyway?

I almost always find that Vicki’s subs are the most superior - probably because they’re done by a team of fans who want to make sure the right feeling and meaning behind the words comes through. If I can watch on Viki, I will even if it means being super behind the actual broadcast. Unfortunately, iqiyi tends to gatekeep their dramas so we’re stuck with their subs

The only other platform that’s come close to Viki is Netflix - but I still have issues with their subs sometimes

No worries, I figured you didn’t mean to offend and I just wanted to let you know why you’re getting sass from some people. It was more the wishing the ML in this drama was someone else and less wanting XZX and ZY to be leads together - hopefully for you they’ll be paired up in a future drama

I stated that I, a Xu Kai fan, am not as easily offended as "most" other Xu Kai fans on this SITE (as in MDL as a whole). Most = majority, which FYI can mean anything from 50.01% to 99.9%. So all I said was that a vague majority of XK fans on MDL are more easily offended than me. How is stating an observable fact being "nasty with fans"?

That’s an iqiyi thing for sure. It happens in all of their dramas. If one of their dramas is available elsewhere (like Viki) I will watch it there for the superior subs. But alas, they’re gate keeping this one

I’m pretty sure he was a teenager/same age as Xiahou Dan. At one point he mentioned he was in math class when he transmigrated

I don’t really have much of an opinion on that I guess? Though it did take me a couple episodes to get used to the VA they picked to dub Wang Churan just because she sounds really different compared to her other dramas I’ve watched 🤷🏼‍♀️

The first third of this drama is basically pure comedy with a slow progression to more serious drama (it’s honestly gotten pretty dark at times 😅)

Also, I almost dropped Shadow Love because the beginning is . . . not good. But it gets A LOT better, so try to hold out lol
