I really like it so far and do think it’s underrated, especially when objectively worse dramas have 8+ ratings here. It’s a fun, easy watch and the main couple gets a good amount of screen time. I never FF dramas (and honestly think it’s strange that so many do) but I’m not bored at any point for what that’s worth 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you love LYR though, I def recommend. In addition to lots of kisses, he shows a lot of skin too 🤭

I gotta say though, I'm watching Go Back Lover right now (Li Yun Rui's first drama as a ML and filmed prior to Blossom I think) - he has A LOT of kissing scenes, some of which are quite . . . steamy ^^' (for c-drama at least)

So I wouldn't necessarily label him an amateur at kissing scenes - it may just be he and MZY were shy with each other, or that the ambience the director wanted for kisses between SM and DZ was different and/or harder to accomplish

Same to all of this lol - I started this mostly to stave off Blossom withdrawals, but am finding it very enjoyable and not deserving of the low rating at all! Li Yun Rui (ML) does smitten so well (i love me a green flag ML what can I say?) and the FL's acting is quite good as well!

So far (also as of episode 12), this checks all my boxes for what I love in a rom-com and it just serves as another perfect example of why you shouldn't trust MDL ratings ^^'

This actor is definitely type cast as either a villain, a buffoon, or a combo of both. Which is unfortunate, because in the right role - like he had in Blood of Youth - he's quite charming and lovable!

I told myself I would wait to start this until it was further along . . . but then I saw all the hype and I have no patience. And now I am caught up to what's available on iQiyi and the wait may in fact kill me. T___T

Oh this drama must be doing quite well if the ultimate gremlin troll of MDL has decided to fart in the comments.

Was this an official announcement or just a melon going around? I’ve gotten to a point with c-ent where I don’t believe anything until an official announcement 😅

Mostly because they haven’t passed review or gotten their license yet, it makes me doubt this would air as early as January especially since many dramas wait quite awhile after passing review/licensing before they can air. But if it does come in Jan it will be a pleasant surprise and I agree, hopefully they’ve had enough time to do justice to SFX. I’m not as bothered by dubbing as some others are so if XK is dubbed in this , I wont be that upset 🤷🏼‍♀️

They asked when it wrapped (finished) filming, not when it will air. No one knows when it will air - they haven’t passed review or gotten a distribution license yet so not likely anytime soon

See, it's uncalled for comments like this one that start fan wars. Just because some toxic Esther fans are starting sh*t with XK doesn't mean HIS fans also get to start insulting Esther. Leave that toxic BS out of this page. It's not a good look for anyone, and honestly doesn't help XK in any way (it may even harm him ffs).

And before people start yapping at me, I'm pretty indifferent about Esther. I've liked some of her dramas but don't go out of my way to watch anything just because she's in it. So don't @ me like I'm a delulu fangirl

It's probably because him being cast has not been "officially" announced. As far as I'm aware, neither his agency/studio or the drama production team have announced it on their various platforms. He's listed on Doubon apparently, but I don't think MDL considers that a primary source - only an official press release, announcement, or booting ceremony confirms.

EDIT: In this case and by this point, I think everybody already knows so I'm not sure why they haven't just officially released casting information. It's also not listed on XK's Dramawiki page which I've noticed tends to update before MDL (at least it did for MR and FI I believe)

Same! I really enjoyed ZWY in Rise of Ning and heard good things about this drama while it was airing - so now I am here and almost halfway through!

Seconded 100% - I haven't even finished this drama yet, but I'll always rec WoL haha

Wonderland of Love

Although the leads don't truly verbalize their feelings until about halfway, there's a lot of flirting (cat and mouse type). And the romance scenes are done well imo. It also has one of the best, thorough endings of any period drama I've seen

I really liked her in her recent drama Melody of a Golden Age so I'm looking forward to seeing more of her.

I do hope this rumored drama is XK's next project. Even if he's the villain and I'm setting myself up for heartbreak at the end :')

The same actress played a romantic role opposite Ryan Ding in Melody of a Golden Age, who is the same age as XK. I know a lot of people here seem to get weirded out by age gaps between actors . . . but if they're both legal adults, I see no problem, especially if it's a professional relationship. And even if two people were to date with that age gap, that's their private business in my opinion *shrug*

But I agree with @Park Sayem, based on the synopsis of his rumored next drama (I won't 100% believe it's true until XK's studio confirms it), it doesn't seem like a story where romance is a primary theme. I love the romance genre, but I also like crime/suspense so I'm looking forward to XK delving into the genre with FI and this next drama!

It's a Tencent Production so definitely WeTV. We likely won't find out if it'll be on other platforms until closer to or after it airs.

Although S3 is To Chang'an so they're heading back to the capital, I think it would be cool if they did at least two more seasons where they eventually travel in every cardinal direction. S1 --> south, S2 --> west, so that leaves north and east with Changan in the center I guess
