If you go into the stats tab for this show, you’ll see a pie graph which tells you the number of people currently watching, dropped, completed, and so on. Right now it has 20ish people marked as complete (I can’t remember the exact number)
is there any rumoured date for this drama ...because of bian luohuan , i need this drama ASAP 😂😂
SAME
Part of me wishes they’d spread XK’s dramas out a little more so we get new shows throughout the year . . . but at the same time I want more of him!🤣
I’ve binged most of his dramas back to back since WoL. I just have Court Lady, ALP and Yanxi Palace (not sure I’ll watch the later drama though - it doesn’t look like my cup of tea) so I am running out of new things to watch 🥲
i feel bad for future viewers , who will miss this drama because of its rating ....😂😂
I think the rating will increase by a good margin after the drama is done airing and people can mark this as complete. Based on the breakdown we can see, it’s obvious that the the completed score is dragging down the total even though only like 20 peoples ratings contribute to that rating 😐
At least as long as the “currently watching” rating remains at about 8.5 through the end of the drama
I know exactly what you mean. I felt it from episode 1. And then later I felt for Bian Luo Huan. The way both…
Some things that I hope will happen.
1. SAF4 is almost finished, so maybe in order to fill the show hole, a good number of people watching that will start SAF6 2. There may be a lot of people waiting for the drama to finish airing so that they can binge it (that’s what I normally do but I’ve recently discovered that when it comes to Xu Kai I have absolutely no chill haha), so views/ratings may go up after all episodes are released. If you look at h the watcher breakdown here, more than twice the number of people currently watching have this marked as “plan to watch” 3. MDL ratings will likely increase once people mark this as complete and rate it. I do think completed ratings have a heavier weight toward the final score
I’m already planning a rewatch of Wonderland of Love after this if there’s a sad ending here, because I too…
You can always wait until it’s finished airing and see if it’s a sad/happy ending just so you can mentally and emotionally prepare yourself. That’s what I usually do, but I’ve quickly learned that I have no chill when it comes to Xu Kai so I cannot wait to watch this until it’s over 😅
Not sure if you’re a Xu Kai fan, but his new modern drama “As Beautiful as You” is supposed to air soon…
He’s got another modern drama called “Best Choice Ever” that’s supposed to air sometime this year as well. I don’t know too much about that one, but I’ve heard it’s not as heavy on the romance
I am kind of sad knowing that this drama will end soon ... I usually watch drama to escape a bit the daily stress…
Not sure if you’re a Xu Kai fan, but his new modern drama “As Beautiful as You” is supposed to air soon (I’ve heard Feb) in case you’re looking for a new drama after this one and don’t mind genre hopping 😅
There’s also Sword and Fairy 4 if you’re looking for something in the same genre. I haven’t watched it but those that are seem to enjoy it ☺️
I just finally caught up with this show (ep 20) and I'm glad I'm watching it. The story is so absorbing and beautifully…
I agree about Qi’s character wholeheartedly! I’ve seen a good number of fantasy c-dramas and I think many struggle with the concept that naivety/innocence =/= stupidity, so that a lot of characters (mostly female unfortunately) that are supposed to be naive just come across as having less intelligence. I think the writers AND Esther have done a great job with Qi
Looking at the comments, atp I feel like to put the drama on hold untill it finishes and continue if it is a happy…
I’m already planning a rewatch of Wonderland of Love after this if there’s a sad ending here, because I too avoid those if possible. But, for Xu Kai I shall prevail 🥲
Ehhh, if it's not your cup of tea, then it's not your cup of tea! But I do have to defend this drama, because…
I've been watching on Viki, and the majority of low rated, written reviews are people hating on Esther's voice, or her as a human being in general. Not many reviews of substance (pertaining to the actual content of the drama) have been low ratings from what I've seen.
I'm fairly new to MDL and their rating system, so I can't really speak for that but the total rating for this compared to the ratings breakdown doesn't make sense. I have no idea how MDL calculates the rating though - and just because a show has a low rating doesn't make it objectively bad. It's all subjective in the end. People value different things, and if you happen to like a drama a majority of people dislike, it doesn't make you wrong.
Again, don't feel forced to watch something you don't like because I, and other commenters, like it. I'm just contributing to the general discussion. I do hope you find a new drama that you enjoy, even if it's not this one! :)
Just watched first episode, and then second episode, but stopped half way thru.Honest opinion? This is atrocious.…
Ehhh, if it's not your cup of tea, then it's not your cup of tea! But I do have to defend this drama, because I don't think it's in any way atrocious (opinion, I know). If I dropped every C- or K-drama that didn't grab me by even the 3-4th episode, I would have missed out on some of my top favorite dramas. So, I always give shows more than 1-2 episodes to keep me watching, and definitely don't judge the entire drama if I drop it.
I'm not familiar with the gameplay/plot of the game (and actively trying to avoid too many spoilers), but based on my impressions from 16 episodes, this is intentionally NOT traditional storytelling - particularly in the wuxia/xianxia genre. Most c-dramas start at the beginning, and/or treat their audiences as mostly omniscient (all-knowing) and omnipresent (ever present) so that we basically know most if not all the information, whereas characters do not, and we the all-knowing audience watch them blunder, fail, make wrong assumptions, etc until they eventually figure it out (hopefully).
This drama, I think, starts In Media Res, or literally in the middle of the action/story. Except our main characters don't know their start point (amnesia), so neither do we. We, as the audience, are also treated like a character in a way, in that we don't know all the info. We certainly know a little more than our heroes, but I have a feeling we'll be finding out their histories at the same time as the characters do. Very much like in a video game where you as the player are on the journey with the character. In this way, rather than being "spoon-fed" everything, this does require the audience to think, question, theorize, and be just as confused as our characters. It's kinda risky for a drama, and obviously something a good number of people don't like. Which is fine. Not to your liking? No worries!
As for your other criticisms (chemistry, acting), that's subjective and although I disagree on both points, I've already written way too much (sorry not sorry). I just really like this show - so I truly hope you find a show you're just as passionate about as a lot of the people in this comment section are about SAF6 ^___^
I am only on episode 4 but I could feel the connection between YJZ and YQ right from the start in episode 1. I…
I wonder if MDL puts significantly more weight on “completed” ratings compared to the other categories. People shouldn’t be able to mark this is as completed since it’s still airing, but I remember someone mentioning a glitch that allowed some to mark this as completed as soon as it started airing.
It’ll be interesting to see if the rating goes up a lot once it’s finished and people mark themselves as completed
I was able to read that review just to the half of it. It is clear that person has no idea about the plot and…
Same - it’s also obvious that either this person was not really paying attention to anything going on OR they deliberately leave out important information in order to make their points and basically deceive readers.
Take their (patronizing) explanation of cause and effect, using Qi getting hit with a poison dart. They argue that the entire event is meaningless because the cause (Shifang activating the box) is a dumb cause (which what? How is that a valid argument?) But they fail to mention that Qi gets hit with a dart on purpose in order to protect someone. That’s an important detail that does in fact lend to the audience caring about Qi being poisoned.
I can probably take apart all their arguments one by one but I don’t have the time or energy.
But all in all, this person comes across as young (immature) but old enough to know some adult words. Probably someone who hates one or both of the leads and started this drama with the intention to hate/bash on it. They try to make themselves look impartial but if they truly see themselves as a somewhat professional reviewer they wouldn’t take the time to write a long hate bash rant about a drama they obviously did no background research on and only bothered watching for 6 episodes.

Haters gonna hate man 🤷🏼♀️
