This is why I think racist people are just jealous. I mean, basically someone shoke the Earth and this Goddess came as a result.

I've watched a lot of war movies and movies about harsh subjects, so when I watched this movie, rather than simply being shocked by the atrocity of the subject, I tried to have a fair opinion about the movie in itself, and I should say it's not very good. I find faults in the directing, the plot, the characters and some of the acting. They did try to put some depth, but it wasn't working. Like, for a start, how is it that all those japanese soldiers speak fluent korean? And how convenient that the one soldier who's taking pity on the women and who's developping an attachment to one of them is Korean!

But it's not easy to direct a movie about such a subject, and the very recognition of comfort women as war crime victims is still an issue in Korea. After all, it was only last year that the Emperor of Japan publically apologized in the name of the county for the crimes commited in the war. So taken this into account, I'll still give the movie a 6.5
