People haven't realized yet that this is not your typical "in your face" kind of series, is more about the subtle hints.

Following your example, so when someone tickles you, you stay there laughing without moving?! Now that's an odd reaction, because people normally respond pushing away the cause of the tickle because it helps to protect these sensitive areas. My point is, your body moves even before you think about it when it comes to protection, and then your brain tells you what to do. In here, he does that when Tharn corners him, he immediately put his arms between him and Tharn, but that's a normal reaction, I would react the same way if my boyfriend acted as Tharn(by surprise), until my brain could process what's going on. Type had plenty of time to process everything, and from what I see, he was more like hesitating between Tharn being gay, and Tharn being someone he's attracted to, yes, he somehow refused Tharn at first, but when you really don't like someone, you can't help but feeling disgusted so you fight back. Did or didn't Type allowed Tharn to do the "job"?! Type is no damsel in distress and he wasn't triggered like some people say(if he were, he'll be acting like we already know).

Well they did say that a semester just went by and they just had exams, so 5 months have passed since the beginning of the series.

Maybe in the next episode they'll talk more about this issue now that we know that Type ask Tharn to have sex with him.

I highly recommend you to watch Love By Chance, is from the same writer of TharnType, so expect couples who complement each other like Ae and Pete, or hate/love relationship like Tin and Can(my favorite!).
I must confess that LBC has some hot scenes but I'm not sure if I can compare it to this, this one seems more... mature?!?! More... revealing. In the shower scene you can see the whole "process", starting from where Tharn corners Type until Type "finishes", in LBC they show you how it starts and something in the middle, but how it ends the scene is up to the viewer's imagination. It may also influence that in TharnType the actors are older so they can show a more "explicit" scene. If I were to compare the level of hotness of Tharn and Type, I'll do it with Korn and Knock from Together With Me, and so far, I'm surprised to say that Mew and Gulf are winning the battle.

The same goes for me and Mew, I was interested in TharnType's story since LBC, but Mew acting as Tharn was a big plus!!! I also have no shame :-P!!!!

Yes, love your comment, and those are exactly my thoughts, especially the part where you talk about Type's character growing as a better person, even allowing another gay to touch him even though he was clearly invading his personal space, the old Type would have never allowed that. Like I wrote before, most people have missed these subtle hints.

Yesssss, I remember, damn, I even remember that I wrote that maybe Mew couldn't pull it off the swimingpool scene either because he was handsome in a elegant way, like a gentleman, and didn't he made me eat my words, and just by DRINKING WATER!!!!! And then when he gets out of the bathroom with his hair all wet and shirtless with those jeans, DAMN!!! He could teach Earth how to take his shirt off and swim in the river LOL

And I agree, the only thing that keeps me watching Dark Blue Kiss are Sun and Mork and even that couple have some contradictions.

Other things have happened between Tharn and Type, you can feel it when Tharn after the exams is all happy and can't wait to return to the room, while Type is all nervous and doesn't want to go back but still doesn't want to change rooms with Champ. I don't
think is lack of character development, is just that we didn't saw the progress, like usually happens. In this episode you can see that for Type there is a difference between been touched by Tharn and been touched by any other gay, but he still endured more than before though, when he couldn't even be in the same place with a gay. And did you see how he kind of felt guilty when both of his classmates were fighting?! The old Type wouldn't feel something like that, and for me, that's character's growth. Remember, 5 months have gone by since episode 1.

It is harrassment if the person who is offended feels that way. And isn't it harrassment when the harasser has some kind of power over the victim?!

Exactly!!!! I think most of the comments here are from people who have seen the episode just once, and I get it, it takes you by surprise the first time you watch it, but because you miss all those hints that they're giving you through the whole episode. I think we are not used to these kind of subtle hints in BL. People need to watch the episode a few more times, and take a closer look to the EMOTIONS and REACTIONS of the characters. And I agree, hands down to the writer, director and the actors.

The first 2 episodes didn't romanticize at all the scenes, they clearly showed that what Tharn did was wrong. In this episode you can see that a semester has already passed, so a lot has happened since episode 1, we just didn't see it. Type has been drooling for Tharn for a while now, to the point that he can't hide it anymore and Tharn has already notice that Type has taken an interest in him, that's why he has started flirting with the latter, doing the drinking water thing and commenting that talking isn't the only thing he's good at. Also Type isn't rejecting Tharn's advances anymore(do you remember Type in the 1st episode?!) so something has definitely change in him, and that's why Tharn pushes further. People are like that, you like someone, you talk with that person to know him/her a little bit more, you start flirting and see how they respond, you start touching(hugging, touch the shoulder or leg), people make advances when they are into someone and if that person respond, then they keep going until something happens. Another thing, not all relationships start with the fluffy stuff, I personally have a couple of friends that were almost like Type and Tharn are right now, they had sex, and they've been a couple for 8 years. Of course, neither of them had a traumatic past, but I do relate to this story.

I can understand harrassment but rape?!?! I know the pace of the series is a littke bit rushed, and is making people confused, but still, is not rape.

Yes I know, but it depends of so many things, what the director wants to show of the story, the budget, the actor's schedule, etc I don't think it is that easy. Is a little bit rushed, yes, but I think is just the first impact.

The problem is the pace of the series, they're trying to resume a novel of 70 chapters into a series of 12 episodes, so many things and scenes were probably left out. In this episode Type is already attracted to Tharn(in the novel, he was attracted to Tharn since the beginning, at least that was my impression) and Tharn knows it(Type didn't try too hard to hide it either XD) so I think Type drooling for Tharn has been for while now.

I'm sorry but no, he didn't froze because of his PTSD, you can definently see the differences between the scenes in episode 2 and 3. When Type gets triggered his face shows fear, he immediately starts crying and pleads not to get hurt, like a kid, I don't know about you but that is not the Type that I saw on the shower scene, if he truly wanted to refuse Tharn, he could have just punched him(Tharn), like Type did later in the bedroom. You can also see how he reacted when the other guy was touching him while taking the photo, his face was showing how uncomfortable he was feeling and when he couldn't take it anymore, he started insulting them.

There's nothing wrong with you, is just your liking, so you can find White however you want lol, and besides I'm quite sure you aren't the only one :-P...
Fingers crossed for Earth taking off his shirt in the new BL!!! Woooohoooooo!!!!

Yes, I know that Earth will be again the main lead in BL, A Tale of a Thousand Stars, the story seems pretty cute and yes, we'll be waiting for him to take his shirt off and jump in the river lol. But it was a little bit awkward seen him working again with White when they recently were a couple in Theory of Love, Two and Aun, my favorite of the series. White is not a guy that I find hot, but I do like him!!!
