You get it. There's quickness to make excuses for him when it's been shown clearly that he is cruel. But the writers probably figured they could get away with the fakeout for this very reason. People are not going to hate a ML with a sad past on a revenge mission. Especially when they've been provided more "evil" characters to hate.
I am however enjoying the wholesome bits. The humour is just my style.

He sent an innocent person to jail for murder in place of the Chairman's son (the dad was protesting in front of the prosecutor's office and he said those mean things to him and we find out later the dad collapsed and the mum took over the protest). Then the man whose company threatened him (the wife gave Kang Ho proof) and he still went to jail despite the fact he requested safety equipment but the company made him a scapegoat. Then there's Mi Joo whose heart he broke.
Maybe murder was where he draws the line but he did go to that extent to position himself for revenge.
I'm not a fan of the revenge plot where innocent people get hurt in the process. And Kang Ho's toll is at three (that we've seen). He was not a nice guy and one can't really put all the blame for that at his mum's feet.
Was really wishing the twins weren't his but the timing checks out so that's that.
That loud neighbour is looking like he's going to be trouble. I was looking at him as comic relief but his violence tipped him into mini-villain territory. The scenes where he's intimidated just by Seung-ho's stare? Gold.
I believe it's possible to move on from a love/romantic interest so long as you have grieved the loss of said love. And this grieving time differs from person to person. There's no "rule" about how quick is too quick.
The Auschwitz bit was in poor taste and I see how the writer tried to mask it behind "I read it in a book/magazine" but they'd have left it out altogether. The truth is that K-drama writers are not as careful when it comes to sensitive topics that are non-Korean. Nobody is going to write a petition to ban the drama so why bother?
She claims to be a perfect doctor (which doesn't exist btw), then blatantly ignores a patient's cry for help.…
Dr Cha wasn't kind though. Yeah, she cleaned up subconsciously because her mum mind took over. But that was someone's private space. It's not kind, it's intrusive (and a little weird).
I do agree the doctor is insufferable. She's a rude know-it-all.
Going back to Family Medicine. I wonder what she has planned. Remember the slap when the husband was sleeping? FL is capable of payback. Her husband and his mistress are in for it. And it's going to be so much fun to watch. I just wish she found out about the daughter as well.
I can't find it in me to blame the kids because the version of their mum they're most used to is the version whose goal was keeping the family together and oiled for 20+ years. They might be insensitive and thoughtless at times but they love their mother.
I'm enjoying this drama way too much. Maybe because I'm not too invested in whether or not the cheat gets his just desserts. Doctor Cha's transformation from a doormat housewife to rediscovering herself is so wholesome. And the comic bits are quite good too.
Friendship with a touch of romance and a dollop of chemistry. Love Deborah's growth. Her relationship with Soo Hyuk is great because she's not putting forward the "girlfriend" version of herself but the real version.
Dropped this drama at ep 26 because there's no joy. I don't expect rainbows and butterflies but the hard hits are just too many. It's really good if you don't mind seeing the leads constantly in physical and emotional pain.
