Sometimes you just want a drama that sails without too many waves. Giving this an 8.5/10 because of how comforting it was and how much joy it gave me to watch these characters grow and support each other. Aside from that one hair-drying scene with peak tension, the romance across the three couples was really sweet and steady. Nothing mind-blowing, really. And the slow-burn tag isn't a joke. The romances were easter candles.

My major criticism is that the male lead could have been better cast. The actor did a good job with it, but he is way older than the rest of the cast, and it shows, even in the adult years. It takes you out of it a little, especially with how long the teen years are in the drama.

But it was still nice to finally find a drama I could watch till the end. Time well-spent.

Alright, permit me to rant for a second, because there is something I have noticed about historical political…
I wish it were just historical. Seen the state of the world? It's art mimicking life. With a soundtrack.

Fuck, I never would have thought of this actress as a possible co-star for LJS. I speculated about so many well-known…
The actress has proven herself as a rookie, and what better way to take a first romance lead than opposite a more seasoned actor? That's how they grow and get better. The chemistry thing is a you problem. Maybe wait to see some stills of them before you let your imagination run riot.

A loss will be using my precious time to watch a drama I'm not enthusiastic about after three episodes.

Not for me. Maybe if I had more time I'd have watched more but ep 3 is where I draw the line. Impressed by the FL. Will look forward to more lead roles from her.

His issues are less about a university degree and more about how he hasn't achieved the things he dreamt about…
You get it. So you see why I pushed back against your example? The FL takes on that dude because she is kind and feels responsible that he didn't get what he wanted.

Funny enough, I actually agree that the drama has propaganda, like most media we consume. I am arguing against the examples you and OP have presented. Propaganda doesn't rely on plot points that you can list. It's too on the nose and easy to find. You can't fact-check it. Look at the parents trying to arrange their kids' marriage, for example. Even though the couple subverts it and it seems like the parents don't get their way, the narrative does not directly confront parents putting pressure on their kids to marry. It's reinforcing a culture that already exists. Very subtle. And it doesn't happen with just one drama. It's several dramas doing the same thing over time.

But this is just how I have come to understand how propaganda works as one who is constantly unlearning the bs I have been fed for decades. :)

Wait. You think the weight of university propaganda rests on a character who is clearly a moocher and is suffering the consequences of his actions/inactions? And that the FL is helping him not because she's a kind person but because the message has to be passed across that a university degree is the most important thing in life and it doesn't matter how you get it? From a country that has hard work as one of its foundational tenets? That's really what you think. Wow.

Power-hunger is not the purview of any gender. I hope to see more female villains in this drama. Even as I'll rejoice in their downfall.
