I cannot find it in me to be angry at the mum. I choose to give her grace until we get the full story. So far, we know she was kicked out of the home to make room for another woman. Not taking the kids was the right move because she was obviously poor, and in her situation, leaving the kids with their father was the right move.

The sister is a terrible person. It's one thing to be selfish and self-centred but going out of her way to be mean to the one person in her life who has consistently been there for her and the other kids? The vitriol she spews at her? That comes from a wicked place. Of course she's going to get a redemption arc.

12/16-ep dramas are mini-dramas. 50-episodes dramas are weekend dramas. Quality-wise they're not less but the genre is mostly family dramas/romcoms and sometimes makjangs.

Watched this cos I had nothing else to watch. Pretty basic story. The romance didn't feel earned imo. Guess L's pretty smile is what kept me until the end.

The self-sacrificing first daughter trope. Yay. I'll never understand Korea's self-defense laws. Isn't four-on-one already a pointer to who the aggressors are? You'll never find me getting behind unearned respect for parents. That man is useless as they come and she can't talk back because "respect". Nonsense.

She's going to learn.

You'd be surprised at what people turn a blind eye to when it suits them. A woman with a young child marries a man who was convicted of raping a child. This is irl. Writers can do the most sometimes, but in this case it's very much in line with human behaviour.

With the way the world is, where the rich and powerful can get away with pretty much everything, such depravities certainly happen, and not just in Thailand.

Enjoyed watching this for the last few weeks but my journey ends here. I think I enjoyed the push-and-pull dynamic between the lead couple more than anything else. I wasn't really curious about anything else and so my interest has run its course.

This is really good. The characters are properly fleshed out and multidimensional.

Guess what? The show that writes love and romance really well also writes heartbreak really well. Sure they write reunions just as well.

This is actually one of the better ones. The women are mostly supportive. That sister is less the cookie-cutter female BL character and more representative of harmful shipping culture.

I support violence on select occasions cos a lil reset slap would have gone a long way.

I think of the entire family, the mum is the worst. She's just as greedy as the others but wraps it up in care and concern. "We've done wrong by you, but keep burning yourself to keep us warm."

It's hard to keep that level of harassment quiet. People talk. HR knows. His bosses know. Also, a company where someone can get away with that much open harassment (irrespective of whether a report is made) won't handle complaints fairly. That's what gives him the backbone to continue. Been in the workforce 20+ years. I have seen these things over and over.

Not the main point, but it's crazy how companies will keep people like that asshole manager on their payroll, knowing full well the person is an asshole, but he's good at ass-kissing.
