this is the only drama where they’re “brothers” that i could stand. most dramas tend to make it verrrry…
yes that's what I found. I just dislike the trope in general 😂think when rhey had an obvious age gap it was a bit unsure, but they made it very clear there's 0 blood relation over and over and that everyone is aware of that and I just think that they were friends who grew up together cuz he saved him so it's probably the only one that hasn't icked me out
on episode 4. tbh I find the whole brother vibe a bit odd even though I know they aren't related it's a bit meh at times...but that's me and my preference and I knew what I was getting into. The story and the acting are great so far and imagine it stays that way considering the reviews
Brilliant show. I think the ending may make some people frustrated but I personally loved it because it leaves a little interpretation and is artistic. also the plans, the characters, the dedication to authenticity...amazing. watch some interviews and you see how much went into this show. overall really enjoyable and Yabushige will forever be one of my favourite characters from a show, so interesting. Also loved how you never quite knew what Toranaga was going to do. Fuji is another side character who has my heart. Honestly so many characters in this will stay with me for a while and so will the story. also love how being inspired by real people and events means you can go and see who its based on. One of the best shows of the year so far and congratulations to cast and crew who put in so much effort.
Toranaga being a "keikaku master" makes no sense when it was very, very clear how much the earthquake fucked his…
I think the point of this episode is that its a little confusing what was true and what wasn't in terms of Blackthorne. I think the flash forwards were him dreaming/hoping but the reality is he never left Japan. Also he's a master of plans because yes his plans got disrupted and so he quickly changed tact and found another way to get what he wanted
so did yabushige betray Toranaga and side with ishido again? honestly I have such love hate for him he is one of the best characters I've seen in a show for a while. funny, interesting and somehow predictable and unpredictable all at once
Thanks for writing. In the past few months I see my fault about the way i wrote my point of view regarding this…
I understand, I also think lakorn stylistically tends to have more exaggerated characters. I understand that some things can be seen as perpetuating a negative stereotype and as I said I see you probably didn't mean it that way.
glad you see why it came off that way though and didn't mean it like that :)
I mean your review in general sure. However let's not take "we need a variety of representation that isn't just stereotypes" to the degree where we start hating on feminine men like the homophones. Not saying that's the intention but you saying soft boys are problematic and taking us backwards is wrong. what's taking us backwards is opinions like this tbh. men can be soft, whiny, affemininate etc and the character is played by a very feminine man who embraces it so. let's not go so far we end up saying what the homophones say😅
I don't mind slow burn but I am just hoping a little more drama or something happens because it's feeling slow enough to be dull at the moment and I feel bad because the acting is great
hmmm beginning of episode 3 and not sure of this yet. high ratings and comments are why I started and will stick at it a little longer but currently it feels slow and I'm not feeling the chemistry? hoping for a little more tension between them
what's not to love? This was exactly what I needed right now. lots of skinship, some tropes but nothing that was overly frustrating. healthy happy beautiful story with good tension. Well acted, well directed. probably my fave romance jdrama ice watched
As someone who has seen a good number of original jdramas (and loved a lot of them), I can tell this one is not…
yeee I definitely see that. I enjoyed this but I see why people may think its mid. ratings have gone up a bit but some of the comments just felt like they'd nit have been said about cdramas, kdramas or even thaidramas so jt can be frustrating

I can understand disliking it being in English but sound wise I've seen plenty of jdramas use music like this for those scenes. also I don't think it's getting low ratings just because it's a jdrama but I do think people are way harsher on jdramas than other dramas overall on here.
really don't understand why people hate this😅 on episode 6 and I think it's a great show and the OST hate is weird to me as its clearly a stylistic choice and I kind of like it. I've watched a lot of similiar shows that do this. I swear jdramas get such harsh criticism compared to others.
If you enjoy fantasy and mystery you'll likely enjoy it. The CGI isn't the best thing in the world but I honestly found it cool. There's a little dip in the middle especially with the romance but otherwise I enjoy it. I held back worried it was overhyped and I think in some ways it is but I see why because its a very new concept for BL and one we can hopefully see more of. Just try and quit if u dint like it
