Title The Promise of the Soul Spoiler
after the almost drowning at the pool, it was Grandpa. But then Grandpa let Zefang back into his body to visit…
So agree. That is why this tanked for me. Zefang's life was stolen. With 2 fantasy genres going, reincarn and soul swap it was jumbled up too much. This should have been a reincarn only. To then use a 69 yr olds soul swap and put into action a reincarn meeting with them just ruined it for me. With one body already destroyed it meant one was staying and one was being left to the heavens. So unfair on how it went down for me. (can ya tell it irked me haha)

Title The Promise of the Soul Spoiler
So, Hai Yuan never realized that Ze Fang switched back after the pool incident?
after the almost drowning at the pool, it was Grandpa. But then Grandpa let Zefang back into his body to visit Qi Ring to say his goodbye. So yea Zefang did get back into the body for a tiny bit at the end while he said good bye to Qi Ring. Then Grandpa took over again.

I really gave this a try, thinking there would be a nice twist in the end but NOOO such thing!! 😡😡
Same, I tried but it didn't set well with me in the end either.

I tried not to think about the grandfather, but couldn’t. For me this was not reencarnation, it was just a soul…
Same. tried to like, did for a bit then it fizzled. Ended not the way I wanted.
On The Promise of the Soul Sep 6, 2025
Not a fan of the ending. I think the 2 combined, soul swap plus a reincarnation worked each other ruining a clear path to an acceptable ending. I guess they thought 2 huge fantasy concepts are better than 1. Nope. Nada. Didn't work. Acting etc was good but in the end this just ended messy. The real Zefang should be allowed to live his life in his own body. Grandpa should have been reborn/reincarnated into a new infant to be his path to meet up with his soulmate. I feel literally Zefang was robbed of his life in this ending. Grandpa and H already had a few lives together, yet Grandpa takes his grandson's body for another go-round at the age of 69. WTH? It didn't set well with me at all. But I got excited when this became very energized and then it fizzled again for me. Not a rewatch. Once was sure enough.

I don't think this part today was in the manga?
yea I feel alot of the dynamics and personality of the mains aren't the same from the manga in a way and filler like the BBQ sure wasn't in it

Great series. Acting is nice and the comedy is keeping me smiling :) Eps 3/4 were very good. Adapted pretty well from the manhwa so far. Enjoying this!!

is it forgettable because the couple didn't break up at ep 11? Breaking up and reconciling gives audience that…
ahh, ok that is an interesting view on it :) I also find it is refreshing they haven't broken up thru it, I agree with that. Plus a break up does jazz things up a bit making people want to see the reconciliation. Cool. But I think the energy level of the entire series as written is low and the behaviors between the MLs is not exciting. Just that feeling a few key things are missing from this to ever make it more rememberable ig.

Why does it feel like they are still not in a relationship yet? Like those dead fish kisses , embarassing , awkward…
same feelings. it's too sterile. there is no connection of any type of true emotional connection between them. it's like kindergarten time. I don't feel it either but I did like the fact some stuff got 'fixed or handled or better?' for both of them. The series is just super forgettable.

Ep 2 is great. Comedy is making me giggle. Flows well. Plot is plotting. Guessing Aejun is not the target for revenge, it's a mistake maybe but it's gonna be a fun ride.

Ep 1 and I am liking it. Seems very easy going PLUS REVENGE.....oh yea. Handsome and cuteness is a draw for me :) Hope it holds well, feels like it will be a good series.

Ep 8 was good. Tuo being annoyed with the kid was funny, he sure nailed those expressions, made me laugh. Seems like we are going to get into more heavy stuff now, be interesting to see how this goes down :) But like another person said, they don't do big angst and solve problems quick so we can only hope all good ahead

I'll take that as a go ahead to ship the girls then! And what did the text messages say? Hate when they aren't…
me too, not translating those messages made me mad :)

I somewhat liked this. It is so unlike the manga it is based that watching it kept throwing me off. The characters don't match in physical traits or have the same core personality but I had to keep remembering also that the series added a lot of content to make a full story cause this manga was so short. Acting was good, but I didn't feel the aggressive vibe from the source so it always felt a bit underwhelming. If I didn't read the manga I would have liked this more, but since my brain kept comparing them, it irked me a bit... :) .....but overall I would recommend it cause it is a good full rounded story. Too fast fixing their past relationship issues or addressing this revenge plan, but in the end it is an enjoyable series to watch. Both mains did a great job!

I liked it! Gotta start somewhere and all our puppies got frisky!! Acting was good, story ok, subs less than desirable but it was a fluffy fun time for a short series and last ep. kept me smiling. Some good lines in there, hysterical. Sometimes the overly simple series like this is just a refresher, why? not sure but it worked for me. Cool to see Petch from Oxygen. (I for sure thought that collar was for Meen! and the bit of MeenTul vs. TulMeen gave me PoohPavel vs. PavelPooh vibes lol)

Agree definitely. Which is why I am a big fan of Japan series for sure ;)
