Rewatch right now. Had many rewatches on this cause JaFirst were a fab team and I thought this was just a good darn series. Got a bit involved more deeply with plot issues but in the end it is one of my favs.

yea I tried also back in the day and my searches said that their surnames weren't mentioned in the series. I gave up lol

I am doing a rewatch on IQ right now. I love this series. JaFirst were a great team. But I think YT has it?

AWESOME. So sad it is over :( Extremely well done. Definitely a rewatch! Everyone who worked on this series should take a bow because it is a work of art.

yes I think ya hit it for me.....the background gals are all supporting it and being so smily and happy and there isn't that super toxic gal that almost truly ruins a good series. I feel, calling her comedy gal, has a small role to push it forward since they used the bestie friend as a support they had to put in a bit of angst from the other, as in her saying he is cheating etc. to give the story some boost? Kinda sad it went that way tho.....writers coulda, shoulda, done ??? IDK lol

Wonderful. Every person will register this in their own personal way. This story shows simple truths thru gestures and expressions and it becomes very clear and very fast to me that one person is in love with another, while the other person shows clear signs of affection but in a friendship way. Ya know what is coming.....and that angst is enough to keep the tension thru this story ...ugh... truly wonderful with acting and the most simple basic plot of unrequited love with almost zero dialogue can easily convey so much about a person's early life and emotional attachments that might cause chaos to both. This is a little tough to watch actually but very well done, and while it isn't tough about violence or abuse or ? it is all about the emotional gravity of it for one person. It's simply sad which happens in life.

OUTSTANDING!!!!! Watched this when it first came out and first time giving a comment. 10/10. This made one think instead of being dragged along by the nose ring and just watch the misunderstanding plot go down, so this is a twist into how a real life situation might go down and I was SO into it...........stellar script and performances by the actors, support team and all. LOVED IT!!!! Must watch! I already rewatched this a number of times since it literally shows life and how it messes with new emerging couples and how to cope with the past. Yea, simple terms it was amazing!! Who could not feel the super emotions from Kangaroo when he discovers that Raccoon has a mental illness issue and how he broke down after controlling his own fragile feelings after giving support to Racoon? omgosh one of a few great tearjerker moments!

ep 5 was annoying with the comedy gal in it but it has to bounce that misunderstanding plot moving forward and I get it, but darn, ugh, but I ain't giving up, love the MLs in this and just letting it go down as it will. But one thing is catching in this is all those 'gals just reacting' all thru the story about MLs interacting and it is just so engaging how they put that into the script......opening with blow in the eye and the gals behind them are all 'GAGA' over it, just is funny as heck. Yea this is doing it for me on a few levels.

so agree while this annoys me to no end with some of the plot path it is taking, it is an all in to the end with a smile on my face story :)

oh boy alot of comparisons to be made here but I AM SO HOOKED on Japanese version right now for Love Sea vs. Thai version. Thai went totally overly seductive right off the bat where I actually feel this Japanese version of Love Sea is very organic, very natural, very human responses and takes a real life look at this relationship that is going to build between 2 people. The Thai version gave me more fakey, stagey, too overwhelming focus of the sexy that was supposed to awe but somehow took from that production. Japan is winning this one for me :) Love the actors! Love the scene locations, visuals are great and like the GL couple side way more interesting than the Thai version so far. Well, that's me :) How I see it so I am all in with this story and glad the 2 mains are pulling off a very genuine new encounter so I am so engaged to see where the rest of this goes!

yes I felt that also. For me it felt like even tho he carried the character role well without him being the main focus he seemed lost in the story. I get that...so agree, he is leading material :) What gave it awkward for you?

10/10, outstanding visuals, wonderful acting and chem between MLs was amazing. One thing I liked was it was not so involved with a million characters and overly taxing cross relationships and events that overwhelm an historical story like this one so it could focus alot on the main characters actual relationship and how it evolved. Darn endings like this! But to me it finished with him dying and Jianwei kept him in his heart. Also if not for Chinese censorship this would have panned out as a full BL but from there it would never be more than this but I felt the total romantic vibes from them easily, especially when Jianwei caressed XiaoXi's face when he was sleeping by his bedside during his recovery. Too many actions of emotional connection to say they were just friends but alot of hints it went deeper for both. So I got alot of personal fantasy thoughts on how this went down :) but it was very enjoyable and a rewatch also because it was an engaging story. Beautiful.

We all can just wish him a good solid future and hope for the best for his career path.

agree, there just has to be some conflict or some real tension to keep our blood flowing. Without that good tension and bit of angst it would be like watching a constant commercial, boring :)

agree, his role had some meat to it which he does well with so I thought he did fine in City of Stars
