Just saw the MV for the song "Secret" and wow,the visuals are solid !Superb action scenes which fit Joo Won..(Remember…
I am becoming a big Joo Won fan from just watching 2 episodes. I am watching Good Doctor while I'm waiting for Alice episodes. Such a different character, he is such a good actor! I love looking at his beautiful eyes full of expression in Good Doctor and very contained in Alice. Where can I find Gaksital, do you know? Viki in my country (US) says it is not available. Looks like Yong Pal is on viki, yay! That 's where I am going now.....
I’m sorry, are you secretly me?? I started watching Asian dramas in the summer of 2018 as well! But I started…
I started with a Netflix Chinese drama in summer 2018 too! My gateway drama was Meteorgarden. What was yours? Kept showing up on my login page and watching the F4 cute guys strutting in the trailer took me to the point of no return - many C-dramas & K-dramas later and I haven't stopped since.
Getting some great suggestions on C-dramas, I've been searching for new good ones , I am looking forward to checking…
That is high praise! Most contemporary C-dramas, I find very the same and lose interest in the first few minutes. Happy to find the drama on Viki fully subbed so I can start watching right away.
Lovely to see several of my favourites listed, thank you! I hate fantasy and supernatural elements, and don't…
Getting some great suggestions on C-dramas, I've been searching for new good ones , I am looking forward to checking out Mr. Fighting. You got me at "powerful acting and intelligent writing".
My introduction to all Asian dramas was a Chinese drama, Meteor Garden in 2018. My life changed at that point, over 100 dramas watched now. Your articles listed a couple of my favorites - Le Coup de Foudre, , My Love Enlightens Me. I also would like to recommend three C dramas, not as light and fluffy but excellent to me: The Untamed & Ever Night (first season) & Joy of Life.
Am I the only one who really loved Gyuri? She was brave, badass and there must have been a legit reason why she…
Don't know if I loved Gyuri, but I loved how her character was written. Driven to commit suicide twice showed her severe unhappiness with her life, she had a huge amount of repression & emotions that she kept locked up (like the Male ML for different reasons), her parents, especially her mother showed no love or affection or acceptance, just a driving ambition to make their daughter into someone like themselves. , So when the opportunity presented itself, finding out about Jisoo's extracurricular activities drove her to unleashing all the repressed emotions and desperation to join in was understandable. She was finally free to be someone else other than the dutiful daughter. She was the 'popular girl @ school" but did not know what it was like to actually care for someone. I liked it when she started to develop real feelings for someone (Jisoo) and do actions to help him: regain the money he lost from his father & later from the gangster (forgot his name)) ,etc and the same happened for Jisoo (saving her life twice), he had no love or affection from anyone in his life either. In some ways ,they only had each other, however unhealthy and toxic their relationship was, they did not know any better how to handle their feelings but I think they were real feelings. Love this show for depicting such complicated layers of the human psyche.
I'm really sorry to all fans of Jang Seung Jo for what I'm about to say. He's got the ugliest looking ears I've…
If it is creeping you out that much, you can chose not to watch the drama. I noticed them too. I like that he is not too perfect and that he does not try to cover them up or have ear cosmetic surgery (is there such a thing?) If you had a son who was born with those ears, would you be creeped out and disturbed every time you looked at your child? I admire his acting in every drama I have seen him in and so happy that he is finally getting a main lead role. I love watching him in every scene he is in, he looks beautiful to me, ears and all. Do you think he's had plastic surgery on his face? I was curious about that.
that's where I am at now. Episode 5 has so many layers. Love this show and the characters and the complicated storyline. I am probably going to binge until I am in the watch & wait mode for the rest of the episodes.
Wow, this drama is making me see Jo Jae Yoon in a new light (the actor who is playing as Lee Dae Chul). I remember…
I agree! He is killing it with his acting. I am glad you brought up the actor, I would not have recognized him with the darker hair. That one scene after he saw his daughter tore me apart in tears.
I feel like the fact that the writer is already showing him as a killer means we'll have a surprise plot device showing he is not. Either way I just hope the story stays true to a developed character arc for him that does not go off just to move the story and provide shock moments.
Viki is so slow I broke down and signed up for a monthly subscription to Kocowa until this show is done because I couldn't wait. Episode 9 100% subbed already whereas 0% on Viki. Very slow subbing for this show. Flower of Evil came out today too and is already 81% subbed.
Voila. Finished watching it. All in all the plot was fine. I like how the relationship between ML and FL goes.…
I heard everything goes south after Episode 44. I am on Episode 33, I may stop there. I heard they drastically changed things from the novel where the two MLs live happily ever after. Wish I could ask the writer WHY? Why ruin a good thing.?!?!
I always thought in Chinese dramas they always had to dub actors voice because of background noises. I wonder…
Not always I think. Zhang BinBin own voice was also used in 10 miles of Peach Blossoms, that 's where I fell in love with his voice and everything else. Then I was disappointed to hear his voice dubbed in King's Woman. I heard in interviews that he injured his vocal cords while shooting so had to he had to be dubbed but that he prefers that his own voice be used, does not like dubbing. I can see why he has a wonderful voice :) I also read Ariel Lin had a dialogue coach to lessen her Taiwanese accent since she knew they were going to use her voice. To go on, in Evernight, Arthur Chen's real voice was used but in Evernight 2, Dylan Wang was dubbed. I hear he has a strong regional accent, he was also dubbed in Meteor Garden.
Love watching a new side of Choi Won Young in this drama. In his last several projects he always plays a criminal…
I first discovered choi won young in Heirs & Kill Me ,in both dramas his role was playing secretary to the chaebol leads. Then next watched him in Hello Monster where he played a psychopath serial killer, He is a superb actor. Glad to see him in leading role , finally
I admire his acting in every drama I have seen him in and so happy that he is finally getting a main lead role. I love watching him in every scene he is in, he looks beautiful to me, ears and all. Do you think he's had plastic surgery on his face? I was curious about that.
