It is worth the watch just for the hair and quick costume changes. It is a work of art with those. For me was a fringe benefit of a genre I enjoy. I didn’t even recognize he was the same actor. I had to go add to review since I missed the glasses gift to Chen was a nod to this character. He is also one of the first on screen as the IT guy so no long wait.

He has the glasses and long hair in The Shadow’s Edge movie. All the villains have pretty hair. He also looks his real age in modern setting than the ‘old guy’ in this one🤣

For JinChao there had already been a 9 year wait. I really despise the tactics of the nanny tho I do understand her loyalty in protecting her house.

That was the nanny that choked her and did not let her mom know she tried to visit. It was vindication for being denied her mother not looking down on her station. The nanny was all about keeping the second family above the legitimate daughter.

I will be having to wait for the one episode a day after express.😝😭 I did start writing reviews up top if you feel like discussing further. Thanks for taking time out to respond and yep…Luminosity was a solid 9 and maybe my third 10 and THAT happened. 😂🤣

I agree and for the most part I choose not to engage at all, but I really liked this drama and even had a bit of a chat with the top negative reviewer who wanted to know why I liked it. 😂 so I tried to participate a bit, but comments go from show to personal attacks too frequently tho that has not appeared on this page. I am having a hard time finding the discussion between the rants.

I dont want to drop any drama I’ve chosen because for the most part I screen them first to decide if I will think it’s at least a level 8 before adding to list.

For me Luminosity behind the Palace is where I wanted a rage page. 🤣 I was so disgusted with the redemption arc of the female second lead that I stewed for three entire days over it. I wanted to vent on the page but I did not want to trash comments for people enjoying the show. I felt that was a disservice to discussing the show when I simply wanted to complain bitterly at how bad a decision I thought it was.

I enjoy MiYu’s character a lot even with the ridiculous amount of obstacles she gets and gives to herself. The cast is incredible and the fact they engage me and annoy me tells me they are doing a damn good job. Thank you again for responding. This feels like the discussion I hoped to find.🌹

I am still enjoying this drama even while annoyed with some of the creative choices. Tho the minority opinion, this drama is far from being unwatchable and the cast delivers their characters well.

I am sorry I missed your question but you were very well answered. She will go through many hardships as she discovers her way. The mistress will seem to have the upper hand for a while but true character ultimately shines in spite of them. I hope you will enjoy the drama as much as I do.

She cannot get out of the loan. The money grubbing stepdad had it put in her name so she is liable for it no matter her contact with family.

She would have negatively impacted his career and she wanted him to be able to serve another term. She knew a divorce would have no impact on the Prince’s status.

He might be the best end game but he needs to get his act together too. He assigned her all those high profile jobs and then went on about planning more. He gave her minimal attention because he knows she is capable, but he also knows she doesn’t ask for help or complain when it’s not given. His jealousy making him lash at her rather than ask what the hell happened doesn’t sit well. Whether he is bluffing or not about the complaint, his lack of oversight contributed. Until he gets his own job settled he isn’t ready to be a partner with anybody. He is too tunnel visioned about his goal to let himself be more than distracted. For now, MiYu deserves better.

Thank you I just read it. I struggled with the mom because I wanted to find something positive but I have to agree with your assessment. The stepdad and ex were too cozy and the ex was willing to put up with the sister’s antics to get MiYu in exchange. I think her mom feared offending and risk losing a place for both of them so she let MiYu take the brunt of it growing up. Maybe in her limited way, her mom wanted to believe wealth would make up for the lack of love and support from family. I think the best day of MiYu’s adult life is when she realized them cutting her off was truly the best thing that has happened to her.

Ikr? They truly have no shame. The stepdad used her name for the guest house loan because it ‘benefited’ her mother. Her ‘sister’ made use of MiYu’s home and possessions because she ‘owed’ the family. And she even had the temerity to claim MiYu’s appraisal skills with her clients. The only reason stepdad disowned her is because his dealings with her ex were discovered and he figured there was no more money he could get from her in her demoted status. She is well rid of them. As long as she keeps up with the loan payments, she is doing all she can to protect her mom for now.
