hmm the fortune teller did say one would escape and one would die... if PKS is actually alive then GNS might let…
He also said that one would need to be willing to die to live so it’s looking better for PKS and worse for her ex. He is never going to keep his mouth shut about anything so he has most likely sealed his own fate. This will also give them leverage to keep real YC quiet because she thinks she killed him.
This type of drama is really for their domestic audience who will more or less know the backdrop of each timeline…
Thank you for such a kind response. 😁 I understand the balancing act and completely agree about compartmentalized boxes and labels. I tend to rebel at the confinement of them when forced to be defined by them.😝

My question is should they have made XiNing part of a couple to tell her story? For me, had they focused on the watch, her losing it and going through the process of building her career and regaining it, with her friends backing her up and rescuing her from the dark side would have been a better received storyline. This would have put her ambition in a far better light and purpose than looking like running roughshod over BeiChuan. I would have found her character strong and determined rather than selfish and thoughtless as a partner. Her story would have thrived being the single woman finding ways to raise the glass ceiling for women in business. To me, this would have kept her strength and goals on a par with the other two much better than the polar couple storyline they went with.
Came here to write the same exact thing. On episode 11 i think it was i was like what the heck is going on???…
The point of the drama was to show three viewpoints. One from the 30’s one from the 50’s and one from the 90’s. That is why it’s called footprints of change. Glad you enjoyed the 30’s part of the story.

The entire point of the drama was to get three different viewpoints of three different generations of women. Footprints of change meant exactly that. How that same place changed viewpoints and was seen by the 30’s 50’s and 90’s. I am glad you enjoyed the 30’s portion.
So it is impossible for most scriptwriters to amend misoginic traits. Why not let the FL do what she is the best…
Because even the military wife or gf would like to present to their significant other something they especially made for them. A tangible evidence of their care. Fighting by his side unwavering is a great assist. It is not about who does the saving in warfare, it is about winning the battle and surviving by whatever means necessary.
I like Chu… but I like him more far away from his shady master and that daughter...
Chu is a mixed bag because he won’t let a little thing like morality get in the way of his ambition. He notes wannabe gf’s meanness to servants as he smiles congenially with Xiao Jue acknowledging his requests are reasonable, and then throws him under the bus to his mentor and plans an ambush.😝 His quirkiness in interest of He Yan is an anomaly he can’t figure out.
I enjoyed Han Li avenging the Mo family and bringing about the family reunions. I find I prefer him getting the right people together over concern for his love life.
Hayat is doing most of these under some new guidelines by MDL. There was a Lot of discussion of this on Legend…
Few were satisfied with response but I am new to site and have no clue how MDL politics work. I feel same way when covers get changed on my kindle books. 😝It’s to be fair and unbiased but it sure seems counter productive to do this with no warning first.
Who keeps posting these ugly posters on MDL when there are so many better choices?! 😭As someone who picks what…
Hayat is doing most of these under some new guidelines by MDL. There was a Lot of discussion of this on Legend of Zang Hai page and even a link as to why from MDL staff. I agree that this chosen cover art seems to be the least flattering for all of them.

He is a Mary sue character. However, he is intelligent enough to ask. He doesn’t go for the easy fix, he gets to the crux of what gets the job done. He learned this lesson with Dr. Mo. He also is most determined to improve himself as his main objective. Self defense is a big thing and he recognizes his need for it. He is pragmatic about where he really is in the pecking order. He uses his strengths to his best advantage and tools for any weakness. He recognized early that herbs and pills the best way to go and made a concerted effort to perfect those skills first. He learned best by staying behind the scenes and asking the cultivators how to do things. He takes the initiative for his own fate without really relying on anybody. That too Dr. Mo taught him. I admire his initiative even tho granted he is guided to many items at just the right time. I think the drama does show this quite well.
