While it was a cute aside with XiGuang and YuSen discussing the configurations of a bedsheet, I am sad we did not get to see that comforting family meal with the young couple embraced in the shelter of a loving mom. Nie is actually apologizing to his family. It is long overdue and XiGuang wants to accept it but is not yet ready to. YuSen shares his experience with his grandfather and how he chose to handle it. The maturity of a fifteen year old boy to determine not to cause his family to ever suffer emotional distress because of family differences. To put his feelings of angst aside to show love and support to those he loved no matter what. XiGuang returns that vow to him. It is a very tender moment of understanding , acceptance and enduring love.❤️ I had to grin at her being corrected that his fifteen year old self was over six foot tall.😂 XiGuang is visiting her dad in the hospital and his aide is giving him business updates. She does her best to recuse herself but dad chooses to explain his reasoning. He even admitted to the effort to bid rig and she made it plain she understood what it meant. He is proud of her knowledge and takes credit and she gives it all to her mom. He is so shortsighted in developing markets. He doesn’t even consider uncle’s possibility of contract because they lack the clout and expertise to get the job done. YuSen’s cousin is so sure he has wrapped things up. He has that double flex with his jacket lapel and thinks he is a sure win.😝 So while auntie and uncle are making their bid, YuSen takes XiGuang house shopping. He is so meticulous in his location choice. I chuckled when he turned it over to the seller to charm his gf into the purchase.🤣😂 Here I wish we could have walked with them through the three different options and see her reactions to his choices. They return to the company to find his cousin seething while exiting. He’s gonna run and tell Gpa how Lin sabotaged the business. Loved how YuSen calmly took the news. Thanking him for letting him know they won and for going right to the chairman. This showed his excellent growth in the company.😂🤣 Rong is there to see the difference in her man choices to XiGuang’s. 😁 Our team comes out doing a muted happy dance that they were successful. This is cause for celebration.🥳 The look on auntie’s face when they say they were house hunting😂🤣 Gpa gets the news about who won the bid and why. He is so proud of one grandson and so disappointed in the other. The way his son came in like a peeved child is a direct reflection of how he was raised and Gpa reflects on this. Way too late did he recognize what a rare gem his son in law was. He was the one in ten thousand that would make the world a better place with his ideas. He regrets that he tossed this gem away like trash and knows it cannot be undone. I am waiting to see how this plays out with his daughter and the future. Nie has also been in deep reflection mode. In his heart he knows which family loved him best. He still refuses to see that his ego and lack of business acumen compared to his wife caused him to toss them aside like trash. He still doesn’t see that the women in his real family are the shining stars and makers of bright futures. He sees himself as the origin of XiGuang’s success and he couldn’t be further wrong. He has, however, given her an itemized what not to do list both personally and professionally. When and if he recognizes that as his current role in her life will be the point he might be rescued from himself. I do hope they show us the Qian parasites getting tossed out of the villa. He actually congratulates XiGuang and keeps it short and simple. This episode is seeing bright futures emerge after a very long period of being overlooked, undervalued, and unappreciated. This episode brings hope and family unity with all the right people. It also was a cautionary tale of legacy makers falling short because of arrogance and shortsightedness.

My ears are still ringing from Nie’s gf’s shrill rant. The Qian family elder is the worst of the lot. He has personally created a family of parasites that has no personal worth at all. They consume the host and move on to the next. I have no words for how disgusting this lot is.Nie has been rushed to the hospital after collapsing from the stress. He has a tumor embedded in ear and facial muscles so a top neurosurgeon needs to remove it. Lin has been very helpful with the local doctors and to the centimeter had the diagnosis for Nie, but Nie is too busy putting down Lin and the local hospital to consider the advice. The Qian family feel better because their Nie ATM took care of the debts. Love the irony of the gf getting scammed. She is faltering because her host is drying up and her parasitic self is feeling hunger pains. She hurls the blame at her daughter. The daughter might become human if she distances herself from her family. She almost has a conscience . The Qian top priority—reporting to get the money. Their concern for Nie in the hospital…..well we already know how much sympathy this group provides when somebody is in the hospital.😝Nie’s family have been watching over him putting their differences aside to be sure he is looked after and has all info on his condition. They have followed his lead and moved him to his fancy hospital and personal medical team. While he is pouring over neurosurgeons he finds out about Lin but still doesn’t believe it. He has a top German neurosurgeon flying in and learning that face paralysis and loss of hearing depends on the expertise of the surgeon when removing the tumor. Here Lin’s story finally comes to light. He gets all the details his other ‘daughter’ didn’t share with him and recalling his relief when he chatted with his Sheng buddy about the ‘wreckless’ nephew. He never bothered to check up on any of it. After Nie blamed her for filing the police report about the scamming, she comes out with both barrels blazing to point at the true guilty parties. Lin and her mom enter the room to hear her telling Lin’s story and his career loss and shouldering the blame his fake daughter cast her way. She asked if he really ever loved her and was he deceiving her or himself? She laid the cards on the table candidly blasting the defamation she’s been enduring because of his faux family without complaint because she didn’t want to upset her mom. Lin was doing the same with his family about losing career. He didn’t want his mom to think anything other than a simple car accident. XiGuang’s mom had decided to pay a visit to not be heartless towards him. After hearing everything, she sincerely apologized to YuSen and told Nie she should have remained heartless. She also made it clear this matter would be revisited once his health situation was taken care of. Gma is stunned at her son’s blaming them and sets him straight about his Qian family ties. She lets him know that his Qian family can take care of him and washed her hands of him. This is such a gut wrenching episode as XiGuang’s family hears in vivid detail why Lin lost his career and how that impacted XiGuang at the workplace initially. The mom looks at these two with sadness and admiration. The quality of their characters that neither ran to family complaining, but worked it out for themselves. She is taking them home to get some much needed rest and comforting. Nie is left alone in hospital to reflect on his choices. He at least is cutting off the parasites, but he waited till he was a shell of the person he could have been. That he still has so much pride to be angry rather than begging their forgiveness, just shows his degree of character. I am glad XiGuang and YuSen will be surrounded by a mother’s love and can finally address all these things they have carried personally to not trouble their moms with. This is filial piety at its best. ❤️

This episode shows XiGuang’s project progression. She was a bit down that the contractor saw her as the figure head gf. But she is being recognized for her attention to detail and product/costs knowledge. Those old geezers did not expect someone to know their exact costs and how much padding was added.XiGuang is coming into her own and the way she presented her project at the opening and with contractors shows her intelligence and capability as a leader. Lin has helped her grind through the study part and she is reaping the benefits. She is very surprised that mom and auntie show up at the groundbreaking. She is almost going to tell Jie when her friend pops up with the power couple capability. She decides to go with that. Mr Hua is so much the absent minded professor.😂🤣 While he is very anti social to the corporate luncheons he is top tier in his work. I like that Lin steered auntie’s questions to XiGuang so they could compare notes with technology prospects. Lin is sitting by her mom and aunt at the groundbreaking with such a big smile. He is not the least bit flustered and quite pleased to be showing off his gf’s business acumen to family and shareholders. XiGuang’s mom sees her daughter’s potential and refuses to let ex hubby spoil things. Nie is missing an opportunity for daughter and business, but that seems to be his modus operandi. He is simply incapable of working outside the box and seeing true potential. He wants a fast buck and willing to sell a company he founded because real estate is so stable.😂🤣😝He is pulling a fast one by making her mom give him her founding shares and she is considering it. Ya gotta love her chat with ex showing him to his face how inept and short sighted he is. She does it flawlessly without pause and tripping him up with his own logic and word choice. You can’t call it a battle of wits because that would require two😂🤣 She was not surprised at his poor business reasoning for wanting to bail out and sell the company. What did surprise her is his resentment of her having founding shares and getting dividends. She hadn’t expected that. She has considered it and even talked to her lawyer about it and XiGuang sounds like her parent demanding she not sell. 🤣 She is rushing over to talk sense into her mom, but I think her mom is seeing things quite clearly. I think she is ready to let go of the initial dream with her ex and take on a new one with her daughter. Fake daughter has an outing with friends and investment comes up. I am not sure if they are just being rich kids playing with stocks and including her, or grooming her to invest in their projects. Faux gf realizes ex wife got her half and her sugar daddy is about to run out of money. She is wanting to whisper everything is Lin Yusen’s fault in Nie’s ear and he will probably be more than willing to hear it. That his ex lets him know that tactic will simply increase the distance with his daughter is at least a warning for him. He is not likely to listen but he can’t claim ignorance anymore. He did not whine better than Xu, but he sure was on the same page. It would be nice for him to bow out and make his excuses with the Sheng’s. Let him plot over real estate and leave business ventures for those more capable. I wish we had one more episode to see that conversation with XiGuang and Mom about her shares. XiGuang and YuSen are having sweet exchanges and he is not above bribing her friends to get time with her. I just wished his friend was also along. She surprised him with the briefest of goodbye kisses, but he is very happy with the gesture and her calling him a more familiar name. These two are so adorable and my happy pills.

This episode has the banquet already over and XiGuang and Lin making plans. Once Uncle and Auntie give curfew, our new couple go out to see the city. They share their first kiss and end up at his place.😍🥰 He gives her the condensed version of his family history and how he got into medicine. His plotting uncles let him know right before deciding major what happened to his dad so he swapped from business to medicine. They had no clue how well he would shine there. Once his surgeon status was ended, he took his bitterness and tossed it into business. In this dark period, he was probably most like the plotters in his family keeping score and climbing the ranks. I am glad he has grown and matured away from this side of himself. He ended up at the branch XiGuang was working in and I don’t think that was on accident. He wanted to know her and made sure they were in close proximity. I like how Lin sees himself back in medicine. This seems to be where he is his truest self. He has even been approached by an old colleague to consider joining her team. It looks like a promising venture of bio ware that would combine his neurology training with his business acumen. It seems like a very good prospect for him. He is so sweet when he shows concern of not being such a standout in a new field. XiGuang looked him right in the eye and aid there is no doubt he would do well no matter what he did. When called in to see Gpa, he is offered Gpa’s shares in the company. Lin tries to bow out but Gpa isn’t giving him any options. He was let in on Lin’s plans to get back to medicine and just told Lin to use them as he saw fit no matter what he ended up choosing. We move from our sweet couple to the Uncle annoyed that his son has lost face. He then wakes Nie up to tattle about his scheming nephew and Nie’s daughter making their own plans for the company. He already has Nie plotting to help his son get a good bid for the project so he looks capable. It is the last attempt of the Gpa to give him a shot but I find myself annoyed he had to send him where Lin has been making progress. Now there is a nice band of saboteurs who will want him to look bad and sell off the company.😝 I can see Rong and that ass of a cousin trying to run the show now.😝 What was a pleasant surprise was the duo of cousins that looked like they would fit right in with Jiang Rui.😂🤣 There will be a good counter to all the plotting but I wish it would be smoother sailing for them. They had to have fake terminal gf make an appearance and even Nie isn’t falling for the scheme. He tells her to shut down the incense and to quit prattling.🤣😂 These two are definitely a match made in hell and I really want to watch them go down in flames together. Hopefully the rest of the plotters will follow suit.😝

This episode shows Lin and XiGuang doing their parts to bring the company up to next level with technology. All the people Lin met on his desert trip will be instrumental to a successful joint venture sharing patents and increasing tech. By getting in on the ground floor it will be more research and development than over the top costs. They can share their findings and jointly create a new improved product for the market. XiGuang’s plans are going well, but finding subcontractors at reasonable rates hasn’t been going as well. Whether it’s because they are young or because she’s female there is definite price gouging on key materials. I like that Lin encourages her. He shows her that recognizing the need to keep looking for a better price is a big step in the right direction. Their exchange of resumes.😂🤣 She has no clue he saw her resume when Xu turned it in. I love that he’s already aware of her favorites for meals. He is showing her in print his potential as bf and implying some areas have never been explored yet.😂🥰 Jie’s teasing looks when she’s on the phone.🤣😂 The meal with the besties. I wish we could have seen more. I am so glad her auntie called and shared the tea about banquet invite. XiGuang knows he has plans Sunday morning but chooses to surprise him at the banquet. Her uncle is more than happy to both introduce her and warn her about who to get to know …and not. Gossip is already floating around the room about her because she made deliberate effort to stay clear of her father in social outings. It is pure serendipity he isn’t here with his Sheng cronies. So….the other grandson Rong likes to brag about. He seems her perfect match in public meanness.😝 He deliberately cuts Lin off in a ‘friendly’ toast and further insults by changing glasses.😝 Her uncle’s friend speculates that the grandson on stairs will be the heir and the handsome grandson across the room will be the one always second. XiGuang knows that had there been no accident to finish his surgeon career, he would be second to none. Her uncle encourages her to go solo and she strides across the room and calls him by name. He is surprised and pleased and is more than proud to introduce his gf to Gpa. I just loved the pouty face of the arrogant cousin who is exactly like his plotting mother. XiGuang’s uncle made it clear what he thought of him.🤣😂 As our power couple walk through, uncle is happily recording the event and the room looks like holding them court and making way. I love that she made him shine❤️ They head out for a breath of fresh air as the episode ends.😍🥰

This episode follows Lin’s reaction to the traumatic events that occurred with the accident. What I hope he eventually gains from this experience is to see just how valuable the information and assistance from the ‘replaceable’ people in the hospital is and how invaluable to saving lives. He is so gifted in this area and it’s where his heart really is. It was a revelation that he almost did not text XiGuang at all. He wanted her to know how he felt with no contact while in hospital. So he let himself be careless in whether or not it went through. He is still aching over the lack of contact recieved and doesn’t know what to do with it. Many commenters were furious with her reaction to him. But she doesn’t even know of the circumstances of his accident. She has only seen the handsome boss that had a grudge towards her and the possible bf that has treated her with meticulous care. She had every reason to think he would contact her if something happened to him. Especially since he gave her every reason to think things were cleared up between them. His hug to his mom was so poignant. I wish he would have told her the cause of it. But I am happy that he is finally going to investigate the circumstances of the date invite with his friend. The one thing he did learn from this experience is that communication can be lost in translation. This will hopefully happen soon. They have been dragging this out over 20 episodes now,😝This did show how hard it cut him. It is not matching up with the girl running to him in the hospital hellbent on finding out what happened to him and why she wasn’t in the loop. It revealed the deep fear he had that when the chips were down she wouldn’t be there for him. If she knew that, I think she would be upset he would think that of her. She stated as much when she said she would check up on a stranger much less him. This broke through his final wall and this drama will hopefully get a move on showing the fake daughter to be the inconsiderate person he thought XiGuang was.😝 There was a cute family outing while Lin and family heading on to airport. Xu has stepped up to look after his friend and send everyone else home to make what they could of holiday and get back to work. Chris thinks Xu is bf material because of this. While he is concerned for his friend, it is clear he sees this as a chance to contact XiGuang. It is interesting how he and Lin keep having these encounters while heading opposite directions. I could not believe Xu almost sent that nosy text to XiGuang. As if he had any right to know her feelings about anything. They showed a homey scene when he was Jiang Rui’s tutor. This is why she fell for him. He was the handsome and super intelligent chef that was making meals for them. In spite of the hate his character is getting, he is not satan. 😝 But he is very linear and tunnel visioned in his opinions of others. He also arrogantly thinks he is approaching others from the only correct view. He never once bothered to have a conversation that wasn’t academic or work related. We really don’t need to see any more of his interference with XiGuang. I would much rather see him grow up, grow a pair and consider Chris a very good option. She makes him his better self. They give us a glimpse of the Sheng family machinations and it seems the wife is the instigator and the husband lets her run the show. Nie is chatting with him and it is just one of those scenes that make you wanna throw up a little and move on. These two losers have caused a lot of grief and the worst of the lot hasn’t even shown himself yet. I have not decided which side of the fence the gpa is on, but I think I am liking the butler.

ChunGe’s dream state allows him to work out his issues and understand the motivation behind the actions of friends and family that he’d been resenting. BiZhi even offered him a replay, which he realized he did not need. This let the three friends find each other and find out the original plans was for his benefit. They leave happily and he sees the cucumber porridge his mother put in thermos for him. He ate the porridge with gratitude and left a nite if sincere thanks to his parents. The next item revolves around a version of chess that is also used for fortune telling. They head to the time rift market and find Market Lord out of sorts. She is reminiscing about earlier times and miss g the happiness and fun of festivals. BeiLu suggests having a festival there and is very animated.🤣 The chess game made it a cold food celebration and I am kinda with market Lord that something else would be better. They persuade her into it so she gives them a clue about when would be most auspicious time to look for chess board. There is a queen of the stage and BiZhi has sent the biggest amount of flowers to her. There is an awkward moment when the singer gives thanks to husband for flowers and then realizes he wasn’t the one to send them.😳 He does manage to smooth things over and get an invite to the person her really wants to see. They all arrive at almost same time to the home of the elder celebrating birthday. The door is opened by a couple eerie children and they make their way inside. Upstairs, the elder Wu is talking to a memorial and promising revenge. So this is looking like a knives out party.

Whoever did the camera work for them while on the slope made these episodes enjoyable to watch. Wingman got hit on the slopes and was a critical patient. Fortunately Lin came across the scene and had him prepped for CT scans and gave the hospital his observations while en route to the hospital. The docs there of course can’t imagine why a neurosurgeon isn’t practicing medicine. They showed some history with that. At the time he was all in for being a top surgeon with a very unique niche. He was not content to be a ‘replaceable’ person at the hospital. Lin went with the patient to the hospital and served as a consultant for the doctor performing the emergency surgery. On the way, he tried several times to contact XiGuang but her phone had died. He did send her a text as last resort, but either she never got it or it was never sent due to the intermittent signal. He did get a call through to his mom saying what happened and where he would be. Now all Xu’s colleagues are also with them at the hospital. XiGuang decides to stay max time on the slope followed up by some shopping where she got her phone charged enough to turn on. She only had his last txt of still on the slopes in her phone. She and Jiang Rui are noticing he’s late. He finds it funny and she’s getting worried. They find out there was an accident that went to county hospital and saw his snow board in the infirmary. They hit the road and get to the hospital. She sees him there and is very emotional. She is very glad he’s ok but she is mad he didn’t inform her where he was by any means. He is stunned because he still sees her as the girl that left him in the hospital and never contacted him. Had he not been in his head with that, it would have dawned on him to mention that he tried to contact her and did send a text. She had found out through the moms what had happened and the time frame. We know her investigative work from college days.😝 I don’t know if his phone said cancelled or unsent, or if her phone will at some point receive it, but for now, she is being stubborn and not taking his calls. She has a right to feel upset but even Jiang Rui noted she was taking it to the next level of anger. That paused her a bit as I think she’s evaluating where Lin’s place is with her. Lin is processing the very anxious girl that was worried sick about him and upset no text or message. He is also trying to puzzle out some things. I hope they let these two get sorted sooner than later. At least she only asked Xu why he was there and otherwise left him be. She instinctively went to where her heart was, now her head needs to catch up. Jiang Rui has atoned for his blabbermouth ways and is doing his best to be lil bro comforter. Ya gotta smile when he is the voice of reason.😂 Not sure where Lin was headed, but he has changed his mind and heading somewhere else. Now gotta wait to find out how these two get reconciled.

This episode had ChunGe being a sect and alliance leader. He was very close to success but doubt stopped him thanks to the dark leader. He did not confess where his strength came from so he allowed himself to be duped. The dream sequence is walking his wallowing self through his friendship. At least at the end he realized do or die his friends needed him.

ChunGe is having a day. He arrives to work less than a minute late and gets grief from his supervisor. He plans on participating in the batmittin game with his secret crush and he really wants to do well. He rolls his ankle and has to sit on the sidelines icing it. His best friend BeiLu shows up in time to sub for him. But this time, ChunGe doesn’t want to be on the sidelines. He contests the sub since BeiLu left the clinic but is rebutted that he has 6mths he can still play. So BeiLu saves the day and plays well, winning the game and everybody’s praise. His friends don’t desert him while he’s sitting there pouting. They want him to get ankle checked and tried to accommodate him. Instead of leaving with them, he pushes them towards the fish dinner he can’t eat and he goes home continuing his wallow session. Mom has sea cucumber porridge for him to help his poor health. She has spent hours and years making this just for his health needs. It’s not that he’s ungrateful, it’s just he needs a night off from mothering. His dad comes in and has it out with the ‘useless’ ingrate son. Both parents are stunned when he yells back agreeing with them and all his anger just pours out as he lets them have it about how he is really feeling. He finds himself at Yashe and BiZhi offers him a daybed to crash on. Turns out the rock pillow influences dream state. He is his character in a video game and all his coworkers have joined him. BiZhi is a great swordmaster that has given him a blast of internal power and a couple rules. He heads home to find things out of sync because the leader has been injured. While protecting his crush, he flexes that inner energy at a bully clan that’s been bothering them. He ends up getting the sect leader talisman and an invite to a secret meeting. While there, the bully clan has started taking out the sect leader and they learn it was an inside job of betrayal. Episode ends with them surrounded by enemy and their strongest guy taken out of the fight.

Lan finishes her story and Lu Feng gives her the bracelets and they get to say goodbye. The trio trick the guard into following them and then gives him knock out meds and his special sachet so dog will follow him around awhile.😝 The evil sister is killed, whether by ghost or helpful servant posting as ghost, we may never know but her evil reign has been cut short. Ironically the princess hides in the funeral procession and finds a horse waiting for her with provisions to be on her way. She happily looks back bidding farewell to the city that bound her and is off on a new adventure. Her best life.🥳 When they return BiZhi plays dumb about being set up to take Lu Feng to the past. He accepts that is was a kind thing to do and leaves it at that even tho teased by BeiLu. BeiLu’s idea of working out😂🤣 There is a thoughtful moment when BiZhi just enjoys a gentle breeze and reminds BeiLu that while it sounds cool to change the weather at whim. Nothing manmade compares to true nature and how it touches us in ways manipulated scenery cannot. I am disappointed Lu Feng is a mess drinking and has not improved his life at all since returning. I do not know if dream or market lord that gives him a visit with lan in time rift market where she urges him strongly to live a good life. The pink sky at the end is like a reminder hug to live better.

They stretched things out with the one on one to have last black spoon at the end and left as cliff hanger. It’s not that I am not interested in who wins. I love cooking competitions. But I still feel very cheated about who was supposed to be having head to head challenges. Leaving the last black spoon as cliff hanger to keep one bit of show premise alive isn’t working for me.😝

While this tactic of turning the teams into head to head competitors was interesting, especially since they had to re use the exact same ingredients used as team effort, the entire idea of a local chef status raised to celebrity chef was removed except for one battle. All the rest white on white.

While this is still interesting to watch, their all or nothing task removed the entire premise of the show — head to head cook offs between black spoons and white spoons. No matter which side won, the other side was pretty much annihilated.😝 Now it is just a regular cooking contest between colleagues when the point originally was to have less known local chefs compete with well known established celebrity chefs. This is the very description of the show.. There are two black spoons amongst the sea of white spoons but now it’s team tasks and alliances instead of direct one to one challenges. They have completely undermined the show’s premise and I am very disappointed.

The princess was being forced to marry a ruler in Wu who was elderly and debauched. Our trio escaped the guards and made plans to find Lan and rescue the princess. They escape with the princess assisted by an old woman. Turns out the old woman is Lan. She figured out the sister of princess poisoned her with miasma ice and framed Lan. While Lan was being beaten, the Kun blade slipped off and was kicked into the pond. A guard spared her to give birth and she was sent to a penal colony. When she came back, she chanced to see the sister and the young princess. She knows the princess was killed and her child stolen. The prince was most likely conveniently poisoned as well. Bi Zhi has the twin blades now and it remains to be seen what will happen with Lan, Lu Feng and the princess/daughter. It was an interesting spin to tie everybody together. BeiLu was funny scaring the guards off with his consumption story.😂🤣 Lan doesn’t have much time left so I am glad she is getting to share her story with those most needing to hear it.
