KJ2025 Yu doesn’t get to play hovering bf/boss when he gave her a whole new interpretation of kiss off. 😝 He did get his way but I appreciate most Xiu’s adult and professional behavior with both of these ‘brothers’. She refuses to be intimidated by either of them, but presents herself grounded and professional whether on the job or off. Pei rescues her from falling and the elevator change was noticeable. In front first time, around her back second. It is a deliberate dig at Yu but also shows his change of estimation of her as a person. I am annoyed they have delayed or left for interpretation Wang’s kiss reaction that Zhao saw. This is my only complaint of this drama. They cut off scenes we want to see . 😝 I just want to give Zhao a big hug.🤗 She is so lost and almost catatonic in grinding coffee. Gong has diverted the tension of Xiu and Yu’s trip back by getting Zhao the support she needs. As expected Xiu is all in comforting her friend. There is no happy business news Zhao wants to hear. I am annoyed her husband has made no efforts to personally check up on her after his long absences. Even if not in an affair as that scene suggests, he is completely obtuse to his wife’s feelings and true desire to be a partner with him. He is painfully clueless and Zhao is feeling it 100 fold as the pipe breaks in her cafe. Gong again has provided invaluable help getting the water cleaned up and getting professionals lined up to assist her. She has a candid conversation with Yu about being more honest with Xiu. I hope he will take it to heart. I love that even in the midst of her deepest sorrow, she takes the time to look after her friend. Their sisterhood is truly remarkable.❤️ Mr congenial is a very talkative third wheel at the park.🤣😂 The picturesque walk Yu had planned with her got drowned out by his and Xiu’s photo session for future project. 😂🤣 The dark corridor was quite different experiences for Xiu and Yu. He sees the light at the end of the tunnel is her. She appreciates it, but she sees it most as photo opportunity for inspiration. We see how Yu’s father haunts him and he has most likely told no one of their game or how it impacted him. He needs a hug too which Xiu would gladly provide if he could be honest with her. Xiu adds her own pondering wanting to know how long it takes to truly know a person. Yu’s thoughts of her brings a true smile to his face. Xiu has been the only one to break through for that true smile to show. Zhao has agreed to meet hubby and it’s going to get real. Waiting to see how she handles things. This was a heavy hitter in reflecting on getting beat up emotionally by persons you most care about. The big question it leaves is what does elder Pei not want his son or Yu to discover? Where else has he taken shortcuts?

I am relieved it wasn’t deliberate intent from client about the mushrooms, but he is still repugnant. The costumes in this drama are stunning😍 In the game we now know Yu’s character name is his real name. He was the gentleman and tucked her in but is annoyed that she only envisions hitting him or being mean and not kissing him.🤣 He is colder to her in the game because of this, but she was stunning in that gown and he couldn’t help himself. They were a perfect couple for that dance. Zhao’s hubby finally got some free time but his boss now knows they have a side project. He did not betray his friend but he finally aired his grievances with his boss and quit. He did this respectfully and his boss now understands that he takes advantage of his workers under the guise of being magnanimous. 😝The only thing that makes me sad for him is not telling her about this while eating her favorite snacks. They are a good partnership and she should really be in the loop for this There has been a lot of speculation about the jr he ran into prior to reunion. But to me, it looked like he was running away from a one sided crush. And it wasn’t him doing the crushing.😝 This is why he didn’t think worth mentioning to Zhao. That jr was a nightmare he didn’t want to recall. 😝 Gong is funny at the coffee shop and it does look like he has a crush on Zhao. I don’t find myself favoring this like many others do. She has married a good guy and I want this couple to work out. I found it interesting that Yu and his mother were exchanging watches. I wish she would have had a chance to see the gift he brought. The gift she was giving him was elegant, but it proved she knew nothing about her son. Both Yu and Xiu are in the cemetery. Both are collapse related and this is going to have a profound effect on them both when both sides are aware. I am sad for all of them. Pei has to show up at the same time as Yu. I’m sure he knew the details because of Yu’s mom. She has a lot of bitterness even now over how things went down after the collapse. She felt alone and abandoned and I am sure the Pei family under pretense of shielding her, made her never forget or soften her bitterness. That the father said what he did makes me wonder how close they were prior. How can he think his colleague is resting peacefully with these gestures? Pei continues to poison things by threatening to reveal Yu’s family secret. He is hellbent on stirring up trouble so he has cornered the 3D market and has used Zhuling clout to get them to refuse to work on Yu’s project. Yu did make him wonder about his remark saying if Zhuling fell it would be due to the Pei family. As much as I dislike Pei, I would really like these “brothers” to put aside their differences long enough to work together to find out the truth their fathers kept hidden. I don’t know if this would give them healing to become friendly, but it could possibly set aside their differences. When Yu stopped to admire the dress in the shop window, he couldn’t get Xiu off his mind. Costume designers for this drama 😍👏🏻👏🏻 The period and current styles look good on everybody. It is well done.😍 I loved the heart monitor of watch telling on her😂🤣 reminded me of lipstick prince episodes where they keep track. 🤣😂 Yu finds her staying late trying to find a material source. It is funny how the ice pack made her look like the rabbit he said she was moving so quickly.🤣😂 This episode packs a wallop with the history of collapse impact. Pei is intent on causing damage in every way possible and I can only hope Yu’s comment will keep niggling the back of Pei’s brain to look into things.

Xiu goes in to cafe to help her friend and learns Pei has entered game. She tries to get in but the game has started and all slots are filled. She refuses to let that stop her and once she sees Pei she is even more determined to let Yu know. They all end up in the security room and Pei is the one that does the talking. He lets them know that he is Yu’s older brother. Everybody is rather surprised because Yu has been especially secretive about his family. On the way out Pei chats with Xiu and comments that while she thinks so poorly of him Yu was a thief in his home trying to crack the safe code. This seems to be the age he was very determined to clear his dad’s name and I am betting he thought evidence was stashed in the family safe. His dish job in college proves he wasn’t after their money. I am not sure how his mother ended up with the elder Pei. They don’t seem like a loving couple. She may have felt that was the best way to protect her son after the stadium collapse and I am sure elder Pei reinforced that idea to keep the son quiet and suppressed. That congratulatory dinner was painful to watch. Brother Pei made sure to rub it in how much more aware he was of Yu’s mother’s health than Yu was. I am sure elder Pei was very aware of Yu’s dislike of onions and the fact that he ordered with no input from the other guests is just a rude arrogant way to control the meal. I am glad he had one private moment with his mom after the meal. I am not sure why there has been minimal contact between them and hoping that might be changed going forward. Gong and Xiu trying to figure out Yu’s past.😂🤣 These two are cute buddies now. They both want to look after Yu and both are equally in the dark about Yu’s family and motivations. Yu has done an excellent job of shielding himself from everybody. Even those closer to friend status are clueless about his real life. Zhao is sharing some astute details with Xiu about her feelings for her boss and vice versa. She is a very good friend. After that painful meal Yu comes back to the lane and shares a mundane task of sheet wringing. This feels so warm and cozy after that fake family meal. It is like a warm hug from people who like and appreciate your efforts just because you showed up. The mutual kindness is not something he ever experienced from that group. Even his mother’s efforts fall flat for reasons unknown. His care of her hands shows someone not foreign to hard work but she still rattles around that thief comment in her head. 😝The design team also shares a celebratory meal. Things were going quite well til their client hit on Xiu. He is more conniving than the park rat. He puts on pretense of protecting her from drinking but has put designer shrooms in her mushroom soup. He is a client of the worst sort and I am glad Yu found her before he could do something worse. He now knows to watch that client closely and to not allow any female team members be alone with him. Her seeing the weather changes like game is sweet. She also tells him how good looking he is and kisses him. He is in a dilemma because he knows she is high on something. Should he be a gentleman and get her safely home to sleep it off or respond when opportunity presents itself?

Pei has received info about Yu’s location. He has dismissed Xiu being part of the reason and knows it pertains to his ideas for competition. His team has nothing close to the same idea but he gives an interview implying that he has worked with another company using the same materials and Shanghai lanes. His sinister snake power emoting.😝 He doesn’t have to have anything close to Yu’s idea. What he successfully did was taint the concept of Yu’s designs making it look like he copied their idea. No matter how good the design, it won’t go over well. Mr cobra has meticulously kept to the letter of the competition rules but undermined the spirit of them to venemously poison another project with a public lie.😝 I’m disgusted with him but have to admit it was genius to undermine Yu and not break a sweat with any more effort for his own team’s vision. 😝 Yu is receiving his own medicine back to him about wallowing.😂🤣 Xiu has made it a mission to get him out of the game mourning his project and back to reality to deal with it. I am wondering now if she helped the old lady lose the balloons.🤣 She gets him back home and they reflect by her huge bundle of balloons. Xiu tells him why she loves living there. She tells him the stories of the people that live there and why young and old can’t live there. The youth need high tech features and the old need accommodation with elevators and health needs. She challenges him to make it happen. She is inspiring him and he finally knows how to edit their original design. The next day he hears the children under his window choosing the balloon they want and Xiu makes sure the smiley face daisy floats to him. They head to the office to make best use of the remaining time. I enjoyed how all his team showed up in spite of the day off. They are a united front and encourage each other to present the best project they can in spite of Pei’s underhanded publicity. On the day of the competition, everybody is present but Yu. There is gossip floating around the room that he doesn’t have the nerve to show up. Right about then his team strides in with him in the lead. Even here , Pei reminds Mr Lie of his prior project.😝 What he doesn’t know is Lie had already seen a sample of Yu’s design plan.😝 Yu boldly states the materials and Shanghai lane to them and as the talk gets louder in the audience about his audacity, he further explains why that isn’t the direction of the design. He presents the combination of living/VR capabilities that brings an entirely different concept. The residents can choose the era they want to live in and have history and present combined in a fluid engaging way. He has impressed many and Pei is nervously twisting his ring and the cobra is currently more like a garden snake trying not to get stepped on. They were obviously the top runners for the project. Zhuling went high tech and futuristic in concept to bring a new forward look to Shanghai. What was to be determined is if Mr Lie was sentimental or not. The two competitors stayed in a deadlock for quite awhile but our team pulls it off with a single vote. Xiu gets to see herself part of an original design team and in writing. It’s a pivotal moment for her with her career. They try to act despondent when they return and Xiu is chastised for poor acting skills.🤣😂 While they celebrate a much deserved win we see Zhao waiting for her hubby at reunion site. He is late and is not particularly wanting to go. His friends tease him about being Mr girl magnet and there is mention of the jr that tried to get his WeChat. Zhao is curious of this and he brushes it off. He has her leave early and goes back in. He looks tenderly at his wife so I don’t really expect any temptation for infidelity. What I do question is what lengths he would go to to have his project succeed. Here he is a huge gray character. Pei and Yu meet at the club and exchange words. It is fun watching Yu tower above Pei. No matter how much he cranes his neck he can’t get higher than Yu’s ear.😂🤣 Pei decides not to join after the encounter. Yu gets the names he wanted for possible leads about the steel company and then there is a prior person they had not considered. His driver who has done well for himself since the tragedy and has Zhuling connections. Yu goes to his place and there is a forensic room mapping out all leads pertaining to the stadium collapse. It is a small library focused solely on anything connected to the incident whether it seems relevant or not. Yu is leaving no stone unturned in his investigation. Following Pei into his home he finds his father waiting on him. Where Pei is more reptilian this one is like an ice mountain that has no room for defeat. It is easier to understand how Pei is the way he is in this environment. His dad promptly stomps him for losing and threatens to find another to lead Zhuling. He is compared to Yu and again found wanting. It’s no wonder he won’t hold back to change that dynamic in his father’s eyes. Zhao has included the murder game info with her purchases and now Pei has seen it. He is surprised to see Yu’s name in the game. And here is where episode ends. I am wondering if Pei will boldly try the game? It would be interesting to see him in this environment.

At work the congenial colleague greets Xiu with a more somber look, wishing her good luck, and tells her the boss wants to see her. She goes into his office and starts confessing to being sneaky.😂😂 He was actually calling her in to reward her for working so hard and adding her to the design team credit for project. She is definitely happy and Yu wants to know what she was told before entering his office.😂😂 in another scene Yu is chatting over drinks with a friend in the steel industry. There is more history to the tragedy and it comes down to Yu’s dad signing a procurement order for steel too weak for the project they are building. When he is older he tells his uncle there is no way his dad signed the order and the uncle agrees. However it has been proven to be his dad’s handwriting and they have no other evidence to rebut it. Yu’s friend finally found out what happened to the owner of steel company from that project. His company was bankrupted and he went abroad and died two years later. This does not deter Yu. He asks his friend to broaden the net to find out from other sources what happened. He is interrupted by Xiu calling him. She is concerned he left work and wants to know if he needs a ride. He tells her not to worry and where he is. He then gets the riot act from Xiu about drinking while he was still healing. What is memorable is that this admonishment caused him to smile. A full smile. 🥰 He is appreciating somebody truly caring for his well being,puts his drink down, and finishes their talk with his friend teasing him. Xiu greets him with crab cake pastries. She tells him three different flavors but they all look exactly the same and he asks her to show him the difference between flavors.😂🤣 She admits to defeat. 😂 She is happy with project and wants to treat him to a meal. She cannot confirm a specific time so he is to be ready whenever she calls for him. While Yu is deciding flavor preferences Xiu recieves a call from family accidentally on speaker. It is about a blind date her dad has set up. Here she gets off speaker but from the eavesdropper side of conversation it seems like their date is cancelled. He is a major pouty boo over this.😂🤣 We all have been wondering how this tall man has lived in that many cornered nook with his height and those angles. She has a fox plushie hanging on the beam he is most likely to hit his head on. He punches it after her phone call and it laughs while calling him idiot.😂🤣 it is funnier still because he doesn’t know how to shut it off. 😂🤣Xiu is laughing her butt off but finally comes to his rescue to twist the ears.😂🤣 He hates the damn thing told on him but he secretly likes it and hung it back up on the beam. He also revealed his hand is healed when he fixed the loose electrical connection. She is put out that he played the victim and took advantage. Zhao has created a new cake and Xiu is excited because she rarely makes them. She has bargained to get one for Yu but has to wait til it’s made. Zhao is very pleased with her creation and is surprised to see Pei at the counter. He is in the vicinity so he stopped in for a coffee. He is also trying to slyly get info on Xiu. The cake is being sent to Xiu’s place and he pays attention to the address. Xiu is doing laundry and not in plain sight so Yu gets pouty and goes to the office mumbling about her rudeness. He misses the cake arrival. Xiu is all happy about the cake and finds Yu gone. Pei saw Yu exiting and the cake delivery so he wants to know why Yu lives there. It’s none of his damn business but I want to know what he digs up. There may be more info connected to their family tragedy.She mumbles about his rudeness and heads to restaurant anyways. Here she finds a mopey boss eating alone. He was going to sit by and watch her date while eating alone. 😝 She tells him what really happened and teases him about eavesdropping and that he really wanted their meal. Which he actually admitted.🥰 She puts a candle on the cake and sweetly wishes. He declines but blows out the candle. Well…he tried to😂🤣 The candle refuses to go out no matter how hard they both tried. It is now providing the ambiance of the meal. 🤣🥰 As they exit, he tosses her the keys and tells her to go home and straighten things out with her dad so she can have her third wish.🥰 She leaves and Yu discovers his phone is dead and his wallet is in the car. Xiu hasn’t noticed and is taking her boss’s instruction to heart to enjoy the time with family and not return early. Her dad is proud of her and wants her to win the competition. He is also sorrowful his injury has held her back. The one thing I find unique about this drama is the characters getting to clear the air rather quickly. The misunderstandings are not drug out to cause frustration for viewers. The tension is real but it is candidly addressed by relevant characters and there is no doubt where either party stands. I greatly appreciate this feature of the production team and writers and hope this is continued to the end of drama . So while she is enjoying being emotional with her parents and clearing the air, Yu is taking a very long stroll home. He feels something on his sleeves and notes some cake icing. This is his second full smile to end the episode. 🥰

This challenge had the chefs cook a dish for themselves. This was uncharted territory as most chefs focus on cooking for others and don’t really take the time to think of preparing something special just for them. Both chefs did an outstanding job and had special stories behind their dishes. The judges ate both dishes. Scraping the bottom of one and drinking from the bowl of the other. The winner had to win by unanimous vote from judges. What is amazing is this was done first round. I was so excited for the winner I clapped til my hands stung.😂👏🏻I hated how they got rid of the black spoons in bulk, but they ended with a round of black and white spoon that had everybody trying to guess who would win. It was a satisfying ending to a series that I thought they had totally spoiled. Kudos to chefs and staff for making this last episode so exciting to watch. 👏🏻👏🏻

Xiu is packing and scared of her friend finding out why. Zhao is surprisingly agreeable. At work she hears buzz of a video and asks to leave early. There is a portion of the altercation and it puts them in a bad light. Right after her prior arrangements with the park holders was cancelled to have her rent raised, Zhao is sent the complete video which she posts in defense. She then apologizes to Xiu. I love their friendship. They are truly sisters through thick and thin and will defend each other no matter what. The friend even approves of her apartment sharing tho whether it’s because she’s worried about her safety or approves of Yu I’m not sure yet. Slimeball landlord gets rebuked strongly for the mess he has created when just appointed there. He is told to go and apologize. He is furious and sees the two driving away from the cafe and he actually tries to run all of them off the road. This has an unexpected additional consequence, they hit Pei’s car. Pei makes sure they are ok and now we see a cobra go after a rat, I gotta admit I find myself rooting for the cobra. I enjoyed him scaring the crap out of the rat and the evening continues to the police station to file reports. Zhao and Pei exchange info in case there are any further costs involved. He is wealthy enough he can just choose to toss the car and get one without defect. His view of corrected defect still making the object defective is an interesting choice. When he mentions the long game and has a smiley pic of Xiu on his phone I have to wonder if he’s after the girl or using her to get to Yu. He has had unexpected interest in her from the superior air in the elevator, to the more interested that his offer refused look, to the closer scrutiny of her personally measuring on the job site and her willingness to get in the face of someone she thinks will cause trouble for her boss on a project. I don’t think he is used to somebody out of the blue capturing his attention. The fact that Yu is obviously so invested in her in such a short time has piqued his interest as well. I really want him off the same continent as Xiu, but there is no denying he is intrigued enough to step in on three different occasions to protect her. Even his aide wants to understand his efforts. One thing worth noting is the consequence of Xiu converging paths with Yu and Pei. Whether by fate or coincidence her meeting of these two has inadvertently drawn their attention and has them acting completely out of character from their usual habits by becoming shields for her in time of need. The s hits the fan when dad once again just walks on in. Here I am so disappointed in his selfishness. I am clapping for Xiu standing up for herself and I am glad the dad reflected on her wishes growing up and how much she has already given up for him. He is so shortsighted. If he could see the behavior of these men he wants her to be an assistant to, I would like to think he would apologize to her. I really wanted Yu to say something on her behalf. The dad left when he started to speak and I think he was hoping to get a response from the staircase. She has gone into wallow mode again and Yu is tired of playing nice. He calls and makes her show up to fix the pipes. She finally admits he was right about the bomb of not telling her parents about the job switch. He countered with she was still standing and had defused it all by herself.🥰Zhao called happily recounting the apology she received and the promise that all prior agreements have been reinstated and there is no rent increase. Xiu is aware that Yu made the call questioning their choice of leadership. When Xiu thanks him he said he was just getting compensation for his hand.😂 They then hit the work table and continue contest design. She is a sponge soaking up insights from a master of the craft. He chides her when she makes the same mistake twice and she became even more determined to do well. He sees a worthy apprentice and her innovative ideas combined with his guidance is helping her speed along and make up for lack of degree. This is my favorite scene so far of them in real life. She is intently focused on her design following his refining touches and he is looking down on her with that start of a smile.🥰She is radiant because she truly loves this work and he admires and respects that kindred appreciation.They are far more romantic in the game, but this is how they could be as a real life couple creating the work they love in harmony. I find myself just as happy with this view of them. ❤️

This case brought in the trifecta of leaders with biggest names and darkest tricks. They believe themselves untouchable and have networking down to a fine art keeping all bases covered to go their way. I like that they make us wonder if Kang Da wit will be tempted by a bribe and how he twisted that around to surprise them all. 👏🏻Ms Oh has plans and he is part of them, but she also brought in lawyer Woo. This was reward for helping with defendants. Da Wit is not happy but takes it in stride til he hears the first case they want to cover. Ms Oh even wants this to be the case that makes them go international. 😝 Let’s jump in to defend the company killing babies.😝 Da Wit put the babies pictures on their whiteboard and determined right then he wanted nothing to do with this firm. When Mr Oh told his daughter she was just like him, this first case makes that all too evident. Da Wit and the rest of the pro bono group cannot represent the victims unless they leave the firm. He is naming it eye for an eye and proudly marching his team out of the Oh building. I am truly hoping this is laying the groundwork for a season two. This drama covered thought provoking cases. They explored a lot of social ills and polarizing issues. It came full circle with him pointing out who had set him up and her admitting it. This drama is definitely worth the watch if you like watching court cases. It gives a nice view of all the machinations behind the scene that both assist and deny true justice. I am really hoping they have a second season with the eye for an eye firm in its own quirky location. I will definitely be watching.

There is another flashback to name change. Yu and Pei are called brothers. Pei has issues with it and is one of the many things he holds against Yu. The traitor/mole lucked into a spot at some smaller location. Pei’s reference to dogs and humans…..he is really full of himself. The former designer was so grateful for any position at all that he did not recognize how far he had fallen.😝 Zhao and Xiu have a scene where Zhao is upgrading her online presence. She is developing a keener business acumen to note trends etc for her coffees. She sees this as her way to help her hubby. Xiu’s uncle is helpful and ships her fresh crabs. She graciously gifts them to Yu and his face says it all.🤣😂 He has a meeting with Pei at Zhuling and discuss the mole. Pei is starting to imply things about Xiu as well. He truly is a snake. Xiu and the congenial colleague are out on the worksite. He is called back early but she opts to stay. She sees what they are up against with Zhuling connections, so she personally remeasures the soft soil areas of the site to consider how best to layout the project and address safety concerns for least price. She ends up stuck in the rain after dark and here again is Pei to the rescue. Unfortunately they were at a more remote area so she reconsiders her taxi efforts and rides with him tho it is very clear she is uncomfortable with him. Pei recognizes her as the one that refused to be his assistant. He is intrigued that one would choose to leave their company than settle for a lesser job. He probes her a bit about the dynamics of her current workplace. He tries to undermine Yu by saying he would never leave a female colleague out alone on the worksite. She takes responsibility for choosing to stay and said that she didn’t believe she was found to be a good mesh for Zhuling. He agrees that HR messed up with her qualifications and asked if they could get another shot at hiring her. Yu finds out at the staff meeting that Xiu was alone on site. She wasn’t even supposed to be there so he was surprised and concerned. He has figured out what car she is in and he cuts them off on the road. This is kinda extreme and she’s not sure what to make of it. She is relieved to be away from Pei, but she asked him point blank if he didn’t trust her. Yu took a call, and instead of having them wait a moment, he expected Xiu to wait on him. I’m glad she left without telling him. He needs to be more up front about why he is acting the way he is. Yu realizes he messed up too late. He sees her in the office early and notes it. At the meeting she presents her ideas to work around water area. She suggests water lanes which would be quite unique and good use for the area. Ms Zhou is quite impressed with the idea and says so. Yu is much more restrained. He wants to chat with her after work but she had already left. Zhao’s husband wants to invite a hopeful client to the murder mystery game. She immediately wants to ask Xiu to go along because she is the best player now. Xiu is hard at work and really doesn’t want to go. But she is told actor B will be there and Zhao really wants the client to be amenable to a future collaboration. Xiu reluctantly agrees and finds herself in a fake marriage to the client. He has been treating this outing as a blind date and that is far more than Xiu expected to deal with. He compares them to Mr. And Mrs. Smith and has the temerity to tell her she falls short of Angelina Jolie’s looks. If this chubby arrogant man thinks he can compare in any fashion to Brad Pitt at all….well he’s clearly delusional.😝🙄 Her scarf blew off and there is Yu returning it to her. She is far from happy because she expected the other guy so her reaction is why you?🤣😂 Her ‘husband’ is one of those slimy overbearing types that thinks they know best. He wants to change Xiu’s character and roughshod over the game rules because ‘he knows best’ and has had more experience. She goes for stroking his ego in the clothing store and ducks out the door as fast as she can. She meets with Qin in the movie because she was supposed to set up an interview. He breaks protocol and she calls him on it. She uses the game to revisit the trust issue and he responds this time. He then segues to question about her relationship with her ‘husband’ and how close are they. She just candidly explains how she is roped into being nice to this guy because her friend needs him as a client. She admits that he would not get the time of day from her otherwise. She is annoyed and fed up and wishes out loud that she would not have to run into him anymore during the game because it will get ugly if she does.Yu looks at her and basically said that can be arranged. She’s looking at him and asking what? He said I will be sure you don’t run into him . He is making up for his shortcomings earlier and stepping in to give her a much needed break. I really hope next episode shows how he did it.

The parents were very determined to cook dinner. HuXiu’s phone had died so she couldn’t contact anybody. Fortunately for her Gong saw the plethora of calls on his phone and told Yu. He sees the sign she left on the door and is curious when HuXiu comes out. She is trying to explain things when her parents come out. He is now her colleague and inviting the opportunity of a meal. I loved his smirk when she missed kicking him under the table.🤣😂 Mom is entirely too inquisitive and Xiu cuts the meal short. She hauls him to a local convenience store and promises he should be able to go home in a couple of hours. She receives a call from Dynamism for a job interview that is actually for design. She does a happy dance in the store and gets them celebratory cake.🤣😁 He almost breaks a smile but trying not to give himself away. He questions her about not telling her parents and questioning her change of job direction. She tells him she didn’t want to worry her parents but she never doubted her desire to become a designer. She had every intention to work hard and make up for the lost time. She of course finds out he is the founder. He asked her about the fatal flaw in her design. She pulled a piece out and explained that her structure was focused on aesthetics more than safety. She carefully outlined the safety features that should be added and that the bottom line for any project was the people. There is another flashback for Yu and it is noticeable that a building collapse was the tragedy. She is told she will find out in 72 hrs. She added some service benefits and confidentiality clauses to his lease contract to try to sweeten the deal. He knows how much she wants the job but he still wanted to understand better her true motivations. He made it clear that if she did not come clean with her parents that she was subletting the apartment to him, that he wouldn’t cover for her if there were any more mishaps. Here is where she told a bit more about her father and that it would be very slim chance they would come back for another visit any time soon. There is another candidate option at the interview session, but he is too well aware of his worth and won’t fit in with the salary Dynamism could offer. HuXiu answered the questions perfectly, but her time gap with actual design working undermines that advantage. He decides that her negative space would be an asset because she would be more innovative in thought. He assigns her to work with his new design project. The lead designer is too much like Zhuling GM. It is the same arrogant elitism that thinks degrees are must have prerequisites. You could almost hear his nose upturning speaking to her.😝The second guy was much more congenial, but even he couldn’t explain her hiring when no work experience countered the lack of extended college. She is encouraged to apologize to the boss if any differences between them because she would be working alongside him on the next project. He is working on a hotel design competition to get his company much needed recognition. The first things he does is give Xiu a stack of books to study up on all the materials and committed to secrecy with all details. She is kinda stunned with the homework and is invited to a company dinner. The biggest mistake was her downing a glass of alcohol. She is asleep on the table and Yu doesn’t want them to find out that his current address matches hers so he takes her home. What is very damn cute is her playing the game in her sleep. He quickly discovers this and has a mayor card key chain. He is grinning as he uses this to help sober her up enough to get out of the car. I think he would have been shocked had he found out where her current residence is, There, Zhao is wondering what’s up with her husband. He has been missing since the previous night and she is still unable to contact him. I am really hoping this is a lost in work thing.

Hu Xiu has a very good time running Qin and B around. She especially enjoyed finding the slipper after her mishaps with shoes.😝 when he faked having allergies, he was touched that she came back with a bag of meds. She was touched at his polite thank you. She uses furniture to try to catch them in the act and he uses contracts as distractions. 🤣 He knows she is on to him and decides to come clean. He changes his mind when he sees her college box. Xiu is earning her space at the store by providing free delivery service. This is where she discovered Mr Gong out and about when supposedly sick. We see Qin strolling down the lane and drawing on his tablet. He is curious if Xiu is an architect. The nosy neighbor rudely corners Qin wanting to know what he’s doing. Xiu enters and put him in his place defending her tenant. He shows the drawing and it’s clear there are no evil intentions. Mr Busybody will hopefully back off. The gig is up but they both knew she wasn’t surprised who the real renter was, and he agreed to have a contract made with his real name. The company that built the bookstore she loves called for an interview. She is all excited and brings her model that won an award in college. They offer her a GM assistant position.😝🙄 She runs into Qin and they have a real chat. She tells him how bummed she was about the interview, but didn’t go into detail about why she had left design. The flashback showed how right when she was at the cusp of her dream career, her dad had an accident. He asked her if she took the job and she said no because she wants to be an architect and design even better buildings than the bookstore. He appreciated her design model and even knew what it was. He liked her reasoning of design choice. As she gets up to leave she asks him his name and he responds, ‘just call me Yu’. He is surprised that she is familiar with the poetic lines and that it resonates with her as much as him.🥰 He allows himself the slightest hint of a smile with this shared appreciation. He is glad she told them no and why. The GM asked if she accepted the job and had a more respectful look about the choice she made. He gives pompous ass vibes so I am happy she turned him down. I like that she feels free in her choice after declining the position. Yu looks through her portfolios and it’s obvious she loves design. Her parents decide to bring the boss gifts to her apartment and Xiu has no choice but to enter when mom pops up with the spare key. 🫣

Xie’s friend is married to a software designer and they are having a networking party. She asks if Qin actor is there and then calls Xiu. Her friend happily seats her with actor “B”. Xiu is very disappointed until she realized that meant actor “A” was in game. She happily departed and told her friend she struggled with facial recognition. 😂🤣 The game is already in progress and only one character left. Her dagger convinces the clerk to hand over the key. She is directed to a haunted mansion. She is terrified of the ghosts but gets the needed medal to decide who becomes mayor. She hears banging on the door and tries to run upstairs but she’s too frightened to make much progress. Qin again rescues her. He shoots a ghost and flower petals fill the air. Outside she gets him to shoot two more and one is fireflies and the other butterflies.😍 They make beautiful scenes and she wants to see them all.😂 Qin is no longer in the mood to indulge her and she handcuffs him. Together they locate the mayor and she finds herself handcuffed and Qin with medal. She is in audience clapping at the end of the game and he sees her. When she exits, she tries to be nice to him and is ignored. She overhears some college girls talking about getting out of dreamland and back to the books. She has to admit it is time for her to return to reality as well. She starts updating resume and sees how plain it is since she gave up college for her dad’s medical bills. She is deceiving them and they believe she is still working. She did have a point with her friend. As scary as it is to try something new, if one stops at the less preferred choice to eventually gain the dream, often the dream is lost and entire lifetime is spent on the less wanted choice. I admire her courage in seeing this as the fire to get her moving with no other option but to move. She sees Qin at her building and after a fun encounter she decides to let him know there is an attic space available. She is very disappointed when actor B shows up. She is almost ready not to rent when 60k for three months convinces her. She is counting her money and moving into her friend’s storage room. I love her optimism. Qin has a chat with game developers about no warning of new horror section. They left messages of apology to Xiu and free game tickets. Qin is packing and there is a pic with him and ? by a book. They are added to his suitcase and we are shown a tragic incident in his life as a boy during winter. I like how we are learning about them in game and real life which are starting to blend. They recognize each other out of the game. She wants direct dialogue and he wants to know what her motive is. It was fun him yelling at actor B to shut up and move things along. Xiu was in agreement.😂🤣 60k let her go against her better judgment and rent it out. This will tide her over til she finds a job.

The second time through the game Hu Xiu had better results. She played more shrewdly and he noticed. She did not get the revenge she wanted but opted to play to live. Chief Feng was far more sinister this time around. She was to meet Qin but was arrested instead. He was annoyed at her trail of hawthorn balls. It was quite fun watching him fight with himself about whether to rescue her or not. He reluctantly goes and as things play out in the game she was successful in betraying him. He was surprised at her reason for the hawthorn trail. She wanted to prove she had kept her word and shown up. She wanted the last laugh at the mayor election but he didn’t show. She found she could leave a message for the actor on his character board and slapped her message in the middle of his face.🤣😂 She felt deprived of a real win so she determined there will be another round later. At the office her boss has a very cute char Pei. He is the typical never gonna promote you boss but I will do you the favor of being another’s assistant. I liked that she quoted him back his shpiel verbatim. She politely starts to leave and then thinks better of it. She quits her job and warns him the coffee machine had cockroaches. She guessed four.😂🤣He deserved it. He’s a shmuck. Since she has time she goes to an afternoon game. She is disappointed that Qin’s character is played by the ‘B’ list actor. She doesn’t want to waste time on him and uses the proof of sincerity line that actor ‘A’ used on her. She is drowning her sorrows in candied hawthorns trying to decide how many she needed to eat to feel she got her money’s worth from the ticket.🤣😂 She comes home to find her ex’s mother demanding money from her parents. They are quite loud and it is heard through the building. By chance, Actor “A” is checking out the apartment below and hears the fuss. He is still deciding if he wants it or not. They each get a slight glimpse of each other. Hu Xiu has really dodged a bullet escaping that family.😝 She politely and firmly explains why there was no refund for them. That everything paid in was equal from both families and that if anybody profited more, it was her. She politely escorts her out for the last time. Here she sees the actor but she is called upstairs before he can see more than her dress. She is later reflecting on a bridge and he is there talking building changes. She sees him but he is called away. Like most beginnings, the couple just miss interacting. The game feature is fun. It gives a nice venue for them to get acquainted in a different fashion.

This episode was poignant with the painting and unexpected trip. The silk served as a portal that allowed these artists of similar circumstances and mindset become confidants through art and poetry. They lived 100 years apart but this link gave them solace and friendship. BiZhi figured out that a painting from Gu would let Zhao trade his finished painting. It is bittersweet for BiZhi because he knows it is time for him to leave. BeiLu et al surprise him with a group outing to an island for much needed R&R. BiZhi takes the time to enjoy their antics and how sand feels on fingers and toes. He is storing up all these memories and holds close the last time spent with his friends.

They are now working on getting the painting from Gu. He is a young noble that did everything but study. His family fell out of favor were executed. He was spared but it cost the consort her life. He studies for years but is lost in his thoughts with books and making no better progress than when he took everything for granted. There is a mystery about the silk he is painting on. Items are added that he didn’t paint. BiZhi and BeiLu are trapped studying with him. BiZhi is in no rush because he doesn’t want to go back to his time after obtaining the last item, but BeiLu is lamenting loud and long😂🤣 studying was never his forte and he wants this mission over with. He is looking outside and something has his attention when episode ends.
