KJ2025 Changhe has left Tianqi. He still acknowledges that for now they are still assassin blades fighting as their boss dectermines. He has his subordinate think it’s to gain highest profits. But whatever his real game, he will not be there for the battles taking place tonight. The nobles’ sons have been given the antidote but it seems they must also take out whoever gave them the poison dose or kill them. Night Crow co tinges to be an annoying pain the arse. What I am a bit baffled by is why no one is going after the damn bell that orders the puppets. It seems that would be a useful deterrent in shutting her up. Doc Bai was smart enough to not go along and leave everything to LianYue and Rabbit. Her spiders managed to give golden puppet the antidote and the final battle of mentor/disciple took place with LianYue being ordered to kill his mentor. Night Crow is not happy her star puppet is destroyed, but she is not in the least deterred to continue the battle. Her next three in line are lined up to continue. Rabbit looks to have taken a fatal blow and LianYue proves phoenixes exist in their world. This reminded me of another fight where the sr brother used his best move to end things with an enemy. These battles were well done. The emperor has summoned the Prince of Langya and while he sleeps the Prince knows he has been poisoned again. Both of these eunuchs get on my nerves with their schemes. The search is still on for the final dragon scroll and I wish they knew old geezer eunuch has it. There seems to be equal losses on both sides but the stakes are very high in this city and the cost quite high. This episode brought back the Lianyue from earlier episodes. He has proven himself to his mentor and his love along with himself. He finally accepts the role he has to play and demonstrates his real skills.

Changhe has left seclusion and isn’t happy with how first prince and eunuch are running things. Uncle Zhe successfully transferred his energy, but that meant both incapacitated when first prince called for strikes against their hideouts. Leader Mu and XueWei stayed behind and fought flawlessly, but they were too few against the obstacles. It looked like leader Mu died after sweet words with his love, but their bodies have not been found. Whether they are burned, hidden or kidnapped, we really don’t know. This has MuYu ready to take the battle directly to the city. The Prince of Langya knows the odds are against him, but he still hopes to find the dragon scroll in time. The emperor notes first prince’s developments and hopes to save him. First prince uses a truth snake to determine Changhe’s loyalty. It is clear he has no plans to kill MuYu but he has not changed his allegiance to them. Muyu is now aware Changhe has made his own plans. Rabbit and Lianyue were making progress with the nobles’ sons but arrow guy killed the ringleader. LianYue caught the arrow but neither could get to the snake assassin in time. They are now all aware the Blood River is divided between the two prince’s and a showdown is coming as the powers that be want to have their choice on scroll as successor. The one thing worth noting is arrow guy was not impressed with the callous attitude of first Prince having his people killed. He fully thinks their job is to keep his head attached at the price of their own. I want to pity him because of his situation, but he and eunuch are so distasteful and I don’t see either as redeemable yet.

The battle is halted and both sides part ways for now. LianYue is chastised by Prince of Longya for not identifying all the young men effected by puppet poison. The Prince does seem to be getting his affairs in order and giving final plans and wishes to those around him. Uncle Zhe has arrived and he has taken the option for power transfer between him and MuYu. He recognizes that neither MuYu or his daughter will alter their plans so he empowers MuYu as much as possible and suggests a quiet life in Na’an clinic when this is all sorted. Changhe has successfully reached 9th level hell palm but learns after the fact there is serious backlash if used. First Prince continues to be an annoying prat but that seems what his role is to be. He isn’t happy that Changhe has a very detailed account of Blood River members and is well aware of what’s been happening. The eunuch gives him a 50/50 chance of being able to kill the first Prince. He is such a cowardly weasel that I don’t think he will be missed, but the powers that be seem to accept he will be on the throne. 😝 I really want another option. He doesn’t need puppet poison, he is already eunuch’s puppet.😝They are preparing for confrontation to finish it and with golden puppet the sides are too close with first prince having the edge. I still find Lianyue’s character lesser since he has returned. I don’t know if that is by design to follow story, but I find myself as disappointed in him as Rabbit is and I am unconvinced by the Prince’s words as she is. I was so hopeful for these two initially, but if this is the extent of his character now, she is better off without him.

Changhe continues cultivating, patients are moved to Wan’s Tower and both princes evaluating their alliance choices. Doc Bai is finally conscious and made aware of their current accommodations. Muyu is in pretty serious condition but doesn’t want it made known. They are giving these two a romantic moment and as much as I really like these two, I’m just not getting that vibe here. Rabbit corners LianYue to see where his heart is with her. She knows that he likes her but he will not consider proposing because he does not see his clan viewing that as an acceptable marriage alliance. She is disappointed but accepts the reality of the situation. I am disappointed in him. But if he doesn’t have the courage to accept her as is and her blood river ties, he doesn’t deserve her. He has seemed less authoritative since his thawing and mentor kidnapped. His character seems to be shrinking instead of stepping up. Rabbit needs to keep looking if this is the new him. The times are too dangerous for him to keep doubting himself. Rabbit, LianYue and the two from Mu explore the ghost market. They find pills with the puppet poison being given to competition candidates thinking they were power boosters. While that is true initially, they have no clue about the more long term after effects. The four get the pills away from them but arrow boy and golden puppet show up. LianYue is thrown off having to fight his mentor. Night crow’s cackle is annoying. The one thing that consoles me is Uncle Zhe is on the way ready to flatten the city.

Doc Bai has a very close call and fortunately Mu leader Rabbit and former ms poison able to assist. Tianqi friend did himself proud even tho he did not make 15 min point. Muyu has gone to General pretending doc Bai is dead. Golden puppet, arrow boy and night crow with lackey’s show up at the clinic. Golden puppet does some major hurt and throws back poison blossom’s poison. Thanks to MuYu’s lie about doc Bai’s death they head back to general’s place. They find the majority dead and the general a bit worse fo wear. Muyu tells arrow boy his regret at not killing him earlier and that Changhe had guessed right about the outcome. They are getting ready to finish MuYu off when his master shows up to rescue him. She is a surprise because she ha been thought dead for years. Fortunately for MuYu she decided to rescue him after researching the puppet poison. The first prince continues with his scheme with eunuch and Changhe cannot breakthrough to ninth level devil palm. His subordinate shows up to give clinic intel and to ask if they had to work both sides. He is not happy with the situation but Changhe is most annoyed they moved too quickly and caused damage where it did not have to be made. He seems to be hedging his bets and accommodating both sides to collect with both hands. At this point I don’t think he trusts anyone to really help his the other side movement reach fruition, but I think he works with all in case an opening presents itself from any willing party. As the leader, he is not excluding anyone that could make their emancipation from being hired blades a reality.

The Prince shows and surprisingly makes an agreement with them. After he leaves it is discovered that both the Prince and Changhe are infected with a frost poison. Changhe leaves to cultivate the heavenly level for his devil palm and leaves Muyu to handle the rest. The leader of the Mu family is taking care of some personal matters and Doc Bai and their Tianqi friend end up finding a second commander’s son infected with puppet poison. She has a sample to make an antidote but the first Prince and General want her killed before she can create it. They send the furious sword deity and he has an excellent battle with Muyu. Things look a bit bleak at the end of the episode as Doc Bai is out cold recovering from a disciple sword strike that blindsided her. Muyu used a lot of energy to counter the array set by the furious sword,aster and is struggling to hold his own. The furious swordmaster acknowledges Muyu’s ability by calling him Master Su as requested, but he seems assured that he has this battle won as the episode closes. He has no reservations in killing off his disciple or the doc and hoping Muyu has a backup plan.

Things aren’t going well for Blood River. They tried another clinic in Tianqi but it did not make much of an impression. We are given some of Prince Langya’s history. He falls in love with one from Situ clan and she brought him to meet her father. She learned the sword he carried was a legendary blade used by the imperial line. She is firm about wanting nothing to do with the court and after a lengthy test period she offers him a chance if he can stay in the martial world for a year. He readily agrees but it is not said why he didn’t keep his vow to her. It is just clear both are rather miserable. He does get her to agree to his request upon his death. Blood River was supposed to have a meal with the prince at a restaurant of his choosing yet he didn’t show. After a considerable wait the Blood River group plans to leave. Tang Lianyue is not going to let them leave without removing the puppet poison from his master. When things get heated, Changhe gets out he’ll palm and the Prince counters it. They offer him a deal but we are not told yet how that panned out. First Prince has found a ghost blade to join his ghost doc. Changhe is getting tired of trying to make deals with people as corrupt as the hirers of blood river blades. I am curious if the medicine king is making any progress on night crow’s puppet poison.

Xing Shen has something new to consider that he’s not sharing except for with Ma. The fiends might have originally been human and their DNA got combined with things they ate. So rather than adding to become human, they are removing to revert back. He has mentioned Yan Tuo to Lin XiRou for reasons only known to him. This has led Luo to reveal herself as Mad Knife and to make an attempt already by herself to find Yan Tuo. He used the bracelet weapon against Ling XiRou and they are having far more candid conversations now. All the work she did has been unraveled and if they don’t find Lin Ling she will not be able to u do the blood damage done to her. They have Yan Tuo locked up and Jiang was shown to be locked up in mine somewhere last episode but now thanks to Xing Shen all negotiations have been stalled. I do not know what he hoped to gain or if he just wanted them to die together since she no longer sought him out as partner. The hunters are not very prepared and they really need more research into what fiends actually were and are. There could be a middle ground if Xing Shen would stop burning bridges on both sides. His autonomy needs re evaluated and his fiend hostage Locust needs to be in the bargaining. I wonder if mother and child would recognize each other if introduced. The doc has also been compromised now and he was a valuable assist to both sides.

Yan Tuo has been discovered thanks to Xing Shen. There is purpose in all the meeting location testing. He wants his rival for Mad Knife’s attention taken care of. I think he wants it dealt with permanently. He has no reason to mistrust his partner’s judgment to this degree, except that she no longer holds his in highest regard. The poor doc friend just can’t stay out of trouble no matter how hard he tries. He gets roped in from both sides and he is always the man in the middle. Xing Shen and Ma are exploring long forgotten texts and he is keeping it secret from the group. They are learning things long forgotten about both hunters and the fiends. It seems the created species can absorb characteristics of what it consumes and is most active when there is no moon. I am enjoying this drama. It has an ‘Invasion of the Body Snatcher’s vibe’ — alien lifeform hiding as humans. The meteorite created a new species and it is not clear if they want to simply co exist or more now that they have developed into greater beings and not just predators. The south mountain hunting group isn’t trying to negotiate, they want them wiped out. Yan Tuo is another caught in the middle. He wants to know what happened to his sister and he thinks Lin XiRou is responsible.

Doc Bai wanted to hear more about the brothel and Muyu deftly got her out and offered to make tags for the clinic. 🤣 Changhe is not as convinced on the Prince of Langya as Muyu is. He went separately to see eunuch and first Prince without telling Muyu. He is given a brief history of the city tenders for the throne and the benefits of choosing wisely who to support. They are trying to undermine the best options for throne and somebody is making the Emperor have nightmares where Langya Prince is attacking him in his chambers. Since the eunuch knew about sleep loss, he has probably set up through teas or whatever and suggestive thoughts to disrupt emperor’s sleep pattern and make him suspicious. This is step one in undermining the 6th Prince. Changhe is not committed to anyone. He wants to get the treasure from yellow springs pawnshop as leverage to establish his other side concept but Muyu shot it down. He sees this as a green light for Baixiao clan to snoop and regather Blood River secrets to use against them. While he is right, he needs to find someway to compromise with Changhe before he loses patience with Tianqi options. The ghost doc has taken her golden puppet to show off to first prince and finds it a harder sell than expected. The eunuch is surprised that he is a step above the level of the Tang master. He is developing skills as a puppet and it remains unclear if he can be saved. Lianyue has promised to make a deal with Blood River if they can successfully rescue his master alive. Night Owl was expecting a more positive response to her new toy and now she sees she will have to up his skill level considerably to even begin to make an impression on first prince. Blood River continues to make no real headway in finding land to settle and Changhe has been led to believe Prince of Langya is enemy if the entire city. Guess he will find out the truth of that when they meet at the restaurant the prince has chosen.

Tang clan is split and they think they have the upper hand with the frost cocoon. Doc Bai does manage to counter it but the old guy is not going down easily. There is a brief battle and when old guy will not stop attacking he is finally shut up permanently. Changhe is having a good time mocking the leader that called the meeting. They have learned that the toxin taken from their poison blossom has been used in weapons and of course Muyu was tagged with it. Lianyue is trying to locate the grandmaster aide taken by ghost doc. She sees him as prime candidate for her poison/puppet spells. The medicine king is recuperating and Lianyue has got himself in hot water sending a representative instead of himself to talk to blood river crew. Muyu and Doc Bai are looking to find a place to open an apothecary in Tianqi and Muyu runs into his first friend. Doc Bai is all ears as he starts his tale of how they met on the entertainment street. 😂The swordmaster guardians are getting filled in as to what’s going on and they all want to know why Blood River wants an audience with the Prince of Langya.

Negotiations were almost considered with the Tang when Muyu realizes Mu leader is in a bind. He stops the Tang and takes Mu leader back to their base. As they consider their next move the are ‘invited’ to a meeting. The first prince has greatly missed his mark with Tang grandmaster. The elder eyed him from head to toe and called him a disappointment. Grandmaster would have taken him out but Tianqi general stepped in and threatened with his army. That was countered by furious deity who said he didn’t fight but killed and were the ready? Grandmaster smirked as led out of the library to see blind second prince waiting. He apologized and made a much better impression. It was fun watching first Prince cower. The actor exaggerates a bit but does present this guy as an annoying, arrogant coward. 😝Ghost doc night crow continues to be annoying as well. She tries to make a deal with the king of medicine to remove poison from poison blossom and leaving her a normal young woman. She accepts it and the doc king is offered the chance to see how puppet making is done so he can try to make a cure before she creates poison puppets. Changhe and Muyu are at a meeting with the one thinking she has replaced Lianyue. Muyu is excused to make banquet arrangements while Changhe sees who used to be poison blossom. The Tang leader is pretty bold with her speech until she realizes something is off. Changhe implies Muyu is at Tang location and episode ends.

I was sad for neighbor girl to get it thrown in her face how YuYu really felt. She sees what a real relationship is when reciprocated so I am wishing her good luck and a younger partner. There was a promise of growth here and for her bittersweet while leaving but I think she is pointed in right direction and she will be happier soon. The young designer surprised YuYu commenting on how his designs were built with two in mind showing a deep love and respect for his wife. This made him ponder his relationship with Dr Gu. She was blindsided at neighbor girl’s farewell because it never once crossed her mind that she would like YuYu as more than an uncle. It made her think as well. Her invite for bbq and her choice of meal was definitely setting groundwork for the perfect real first date. The task for the tongue dish caused YuYu to panic and he left her sitting there. I confess I was so pissed at his cowardice in not even sending staff to tell her that I saw no way out for him. I had already deducted a star and was grumbling about needless angst at the end. However, when he extended a bbq invite to his place, he knew curiosity would get the better of her no matter how pissed she was at his cowardice. He even predicted her reaction to the table in the hall and was prepared to send her in for soy sauce. When she turned over that picture of him and saw her pic that he described as beautiful lighting🥰 he started to win me over. Her grownup chat in the hall that a relationship is a ‘we’ thing and they are partners that solve things together with neither having the luxury of determining the outcome solely. When he doubted if anybody would be with him she responded she would. He was so scared and hopeful when he asked. His apology was sweet, sincere and well explained. When they got to his house design, she found he considered her anchor and muse but still doubted if he could complete it correctly. First getting rid of the wall opening a window and then the door❤️…It was quite the journey but well worth it. These two….this was well done. He stepped up to his doubts and took the leap of faith to find her waiting and willing to join him. The two fish together will complete their happy home. This was beautifully executed from beginning to end. I am pleased with the ending and the care and consideration they showed each other. Kudos to cast and production for such a humerous and thoughtful slice of life drama. 👏🏻

Neighbor is getting stalked by her ex and when it started to get physical YuYu intervened. Nice block followed by right hook and then runaway fast.😂🤣 This causes her to think she has a crush on him. No no neighbor girl. He is your protective uncle. When she tries to give a drunken confession he is chatting with Dao and confusing her. She misunderstands that his words aren’t for her. The one good bit of advice is her friend suggesting a change of scenery and go to training seminar in Beijing for a month. I want her character to have more substance. I want her to value her own efforts rather than trying to find a man to buy her what she thinks she wants. YuYu does the right thing with Lin. He goes to the restaurant where she is signing and forthrightly tells her to not go. As they leave he goes back to his usual pattern but then he clearly recognizes her as a worthy partner and why he has been successful. The office is very lackluster when she returns. They were all quite disheartened thinking she had left. Turns out corporate is now aware of her value and promoted her to director. Even YuYu managed to control his tongue and address her by her title. Wu is not appreciating her lessons to his girlfriend in how to tame them. 😂🤣YuYu is up for Shanghai designer of the year award and wants to take Dr Gu. Right when she thought she had overplayed her hand he knocks on the door and politely and rather formally requests her presence with him at the ceremony. He pushes her into the spotlight as often as possible and she learns that the man who seems narcissistic incarnate was shy and overwhelmed to address the crowd. She literally embraces him and lets him know she is supportive. The new designer assisted after his one sentence acceptance speech. 😂 He is at his sister’s house and turns tv to show him winning. His mom goes over the top about him and doc which results in a heart episode and her landing in the hospital. She is as shameless as YuYu so I am not sure if her hospital chat with him is sincere or a complete guilt trip to force his hand to get a girl. The episode ends with him weighing all the changes and understanding his mom’s loneliness better than she thinks. Dr Gu again steps up and lets him know not to worry. She will be there. Next episode is last one and I don’t want it to be. I hope they end it as well as they started. I have really enjoyed almost every bit of this drama so far. My only dissatisfaction is with neighbor girl. I want them to end her character on a better note.

I loved the book swap challenge between Dr Gu and YuYu. Lin is struggling because she feels unappreciated where she is and she is not sure about leaving all behind for Beijing. Wu and YuYu argue over Wu going solo. YuYu recognizes that his apprentice needs more experience and this is brought to light when YuYu is criticized harshly over Wu’s design. His girlfriend is annoyed with him pouting over games and she finally shows him the comments and tells him Lin is also leaving. They have some serious words but do eventually make up. I love that he asks Dr Gu’s opinion in what to wear for the interview. To be honest, I thought he was going to get grilled over Wu’s design and criticism of it. I loved that he went back to Wu’s interview video and remembered why he hired him in the first place. The respect and support he offered Wu in the interview made me tear up. He phrased it so fatherly and correctly. Wu admiring his penmanship with sign.😂🤣 It was interesting to see English garden take over the office.🤣😂 YuYu is taking it in stride. Dr Gu has become the heart and advisor of the group. She wisely counsels them all as they need it. Lin’s bday party struck a chord with the group and as usual YuYu had to be the dissident note. He has an interesting gift to wish her longevity. It is funny how he corners Dr Yu at the bookstore when she left office early. She gave him very sound advice for dealing with Lin. Whether or not she chooses to go, he should talk to her and let her know how he feels. They should stay together as partners or part as friends with no heart knot between them. He remembers when they first became partners and what that meant to him as he reaches for the phone to call her. This episode presented the heart of the group. It is sweet and sentimental and messy and sorrowful as life brings change in understanding and/or location. I like that this drama does this. It shows us their slice of life circumstances and all emotions are embraced and shown. This is not a comedy but their life circumstances including humor. I really appreciate how the writer and actors evolved this story. It is funny and heartfelt and relatable. I am glad there are still two episodes left because I find myself reluctant to let this group go. I have found every episode to be a solid 8.5 or better for me. I hope more watch this gem because it really is just that good. 😄
