KJ2025 In this episode we find out why General is causing interference with new sheriff’s investigations. He wanted Sheriff Di to choose him as disciple to take over office. He was jealous of the one chosen and until tiger illusion felt superior. Both of them knew Chang’an tea had something to do with strange occurrences. The general had set up a trap at ghost market to catch tea buyer. He managed to catch sheriff and servant instead. While he was busy mocking him and leaving them hanging to observe how they would handle case, a huge tiger comes into market. Two of general’s team jumps out of window and when he runs for it sheriff shames him into killing with sword and not to jump. This is how he learned it was an illusion and that the two who jumped out of the window were killed by traps. The brother was guilty of buying a powder that when added to horse’s water would make it run wildly and sweat bold til it died. He was plotting to betray sister and sell chan’an tea as a bride price for the maid carrying his child. His dealings with the masked ones from ghost market got him and sister killed. The sheriff found case files the general had written up and that helped him see the ceremonial pattern of human sacrifices. The general is in a drunken morose state because he thought he was the superior investigator. He was ashamed he was fooled by tiger illusion and got two of his men killed. The sheriff complimented him on many of the cases he made notes on. He tried to encourage the personnel minister to stop drinking the tea. He told him about the illusions they caused and hinted strongly that this is what most likely led to the death of prior sheriff. He finds out his daughter is obsessed with a general that was killed in battle. The general she painted is not the one she says she wants to marry. She drew the cousin who is alive and well and happens to be the general giving the sheriff a bad time. The dad of the murdered brother and sister wants to bring the maid up on charges for theft. The sheriff tells him of the son’s plan to take care of maid and child and encourages the father to sell the tea and accept the maid as mother of his grandchild. That she wasn’t stealing, but getting back what was supposed to be their safety net to live on. The face changing entities were eerie changing faces. Do the masks let them literally steal the faces of their victims? They are responsible for this tea becoming popular with the royals and nobles. Where do they get it? What is in it? And how many people have died because of it? The sheriff is getting more questions than answers, but is heading in the right direction for answers. Hopefully no more traps from the general😝

The episode begins with the sheriff of Chang’an being awakened by a cat. It’s actually rather funny him chasing it around with a sword. As he is led outside the cat becomes female demon who further taunts him. As he promises to kill her to save the town, he plunges her first in a pond. I found this funny too but he does not come up spluttering as expected. A disciple of his is called in to inspect the body. From the outset the general of the guard is interested in murder investigations. He and new sheriff butt heads as their investigative methods collide in pursuit of the culprit. After the mysterious death of sheriff a new bride also dies under mysterious circumstances. The smirk of her brother as horse runs off with carriage had me thinking he was culprit. But we find the husband had gambling issues and planned on selling his bride to traffickers but she never arrived at his home. A masked entity finds her wandering around after carriage mishap. Many hours later the new sheriff arrives to find her shrouded with mask plastered to face. What is very unusual is her body is not decomposing and he wants to know what is preserving her. The brother can provide no assistance because he is found hanging in his room. The husband was out after curfew and an overly enthusiastic guard shot and killed him with arrow even as General tried to stop him. The only other aside is the minister of personnel’s daughter has a crush on the general. The new sheriff learned this at his visit before he passed out at the sight of red tea. It is curious why a person who passes out at the sight of blood wants to be a murder investigator. 😝He is an odd duck because he is floating leisurely in the pond where his predecessor died wondering how he could have drowned in such a shallow place. In the west market he learns of a ghost shop that may have the preservative he is looking for. This episode definitely introduces the weird and rivalry of general and sheriff in case investigations.

Things come to a head when the empress joins second son to fight greedy shard. Once third son realizes the sisters share pain he goes to assist. The empress is shown third son’s real power, but her ace is his mother. He foolishly takes a poison pill that will cripple him if he tries to use his powers. He escapes with their lives but nothing more. The second son thinks he has things wrapped up now.😝The empress threw an ice spell at YeTan that is incurable unless special gold fire is used. Greedy shard gives up all his money to have them make fire. She is still under its spell but his calling for her and the abacus brings her out of the dream state. He tenderly watches over her and truly doesn’t care about wealth anymore. His wealth is her.🥰 QingKui gets out from under the spell too and helps cure consort mother. She does not however, have the means to cure third prince. He recognizes that he is now helpless for the battles ahead and chooses to further distance himself. YeTan visits and his duplicity is discovered. He now boldly tells her of his deception because he sees it as the only means of saving her. He is determined to destroy himself to save both women he loves. I sure hope there is an option that will do this but keep him and princess together. That second son is cowardly and a drunkard, it would be better for brute first son to reign than him.😝 Now to see how they resolve all this.

Third prince is still pouting and QingKui now avoids visiting tho does send food and tea for them. We find out that best friend led second prince to beast kingdom. Now he may find out about shards as well. YeTan and money loving shard are seen by second prince and troops. YeTan is quick on her feet and figures a good way to bluff. Greedy shard almost blows it by bragging entirely too much because he bargains to be paid by the word.😝 It was most fortunate for him that second prince is a complete coward and knows some of safeguards Empyrean Prince had set up during Guixu fix. If he does become crown prince he has every intention of killing third prince. YeTan takes greedy shard to a wedding. She thinks he was absorbing the atmosphere. He only noticed gift table😂 He thinks up a scam by marrying her and extorting his assassin group to gift them. He even suggests going to her home town and getting married again as they would be happy to gift them more. She is totally disgusted by him and leaves. Her best friend actually gave sound advice this time. If she came to him insincerely, how does she expect him to treat her any differently? That gave her something to think about. She returns to young prince and asks him to help her guard greedy shard. He happily agrees and trails after them. Greedy shard and YeTan goe to night market. She again sees a flute and likes it. When she learns the cost she quickly returns it and is chided for touching something she can’t afford. Greedy shard has missed her and agrees to buy it for her. YeTan is touched that greedy shard is willing to buy it for her. Not only that, he paid for anything she wanted. This was new for YeTan because this was purchased for her tastes, not Qingkui’s. She treasured the flute most but still puzzled why he bought it. He lamented the cost…but when he thought of her smile said it was worth every penny.🥰 Heartless has discovered something other than money that makes him happy. That satisfied dopey smile that he had made his girl smile and be pleased with him…..was very damn cute.🥰😁

QingKui knows the ambition of third prince. She still firmly believes that him becoming crown prince will ruin him. She and beast prince devise a plan to trap third prince. Their plan is successful but came at an unexpected cost. Whether out of anger or sincerity the third prince reminds her of who she really is and tells her not to return to the void. She has proven herself to be the empyrean consort and he will have no one disloyal around him.💔 She had brought her friends food and tried to explain her position, but they don’t want to hear it. To keep faith with her sister she must risk losing all she now cares about. She leaves heartbroken.😢 When she gets back to beast prince’s place he and empyrean princess are very pleased and talking about even more punishment for them. They are quite gleeful. Since beast prince is more attuned to YeTan, he has no clue why QingKui is so upset and they leave her puzzled. YeTan brainstorms for money scheme. She and shard two have agreed if she can earn 5k teals of gold in half a day he will submit and have her as wife. If not, she must leave and not divulge secret that he is a fake. It is fun that he is all in for money but otherwise harmless🤣 She single-handedly defeated him with cunning and spell.😂 She borrows funds from him to make healing ointment and then captures a hive of venomous hornets to make the ointment needed. Them running to the cave was a cute adventure. He admires her ingenuity and intelligence. She has them head to the desert to rob a fierce clan. I think she is giving him more tales for his book.😂We must see where this heads🤣

The beast prince and princess have quite the adventure in the jail. King and Queen finally figure out who she is and tries to smooth things over pretending not to recognize her. The others figure out a scheme to get the dew but things get delayed. This is the first time YeTan had compassion for her father. We also see at the prayer ceremony that he included both daughters. They manage to swap the vials but she runs out of energy and keep her animal form. So the young prince and YeTan are running to scene. The third prince has caused the shard some serious damage so he can no longer absorb all the fire. It is spreading to village and YeTan still has t reached him. She fulfilled the requirement of getting him to love her but does it apply as fulfilled if the shard dies? I really am annoyed with the third prince. He wants to be noble now? I am glad QingKui now knows everything and it will get them talking. I want both our couples to succeed but this yin yang plays it harsh with them. For one to succeed the other must fail. There has to be a better way to resolve this. I do not like how this drama does the “comedy” scenes…I find it distracting and silly. Otherwise I really am enjoying this. I am anxious to see how next episode resolves this fire. I really want the villagers to understand what the shard did for them.

QingKui bless her heart thought she could out drink third prince😂 she valiantly tried to cover the steps and remove the missing posters identifying the empyreans. She knows the immortals and void are fighting but I don’t think she has any idea about how to win the place of crown prince. He is definitely going to tell her, nor feel bad to kill celestial prince. They at least don’t know he is only fragments of himself. Would he regenerate if any pieces missing? I don’t think even they know for sure. At least YeTan knows about the flame and trying to get help but now a magical relic is required that needs a very specific dew. The beast king has inadvertently brought trouble to the empyrean princess. I don’t think beast queen would have been so inclined to just kick her out without hearing her story. Sometimes the secrets these kids keep just cause more trouble😝 Everything is coming to a head and they are going to have to fix the flame and find the next shard. I don’t know how they are going to hold off third prince long enough. It was a very cute scene with celestial prince apologizing🥰YeTan needed to understand the part of Prince that took on the sins to help the majority. She never knew about the punishments he took for her. She cannot imagine a heart willing to take pain for others. This is the lesson her sis knows best. YeTan never knew and understood that part. This author with yin yang twists.

This time when YeTan goes to palace she is caught leaving. Celestial prince rescued her and took her back to village. He yelled at her for stealing and told her to give it back😂 I wish he had told her about the underground fire. Even with his limited understanding he could have pointed out why couldn’t leave. She was as ignorant. After a child died, there was nothing he could do to not remain a demon in their eyes. The gift giving village visit was miscalculated. The children would accept him but the adults never would. I wonder if when the shards join they keep the memories of what each experienced? Then he would recall her having 18 years of being a bad omen and mistreated. QingKui should not put her servant at such risk. She doesn’t appreciate what she is going through to help her. YeTan suffers from that too. Third prince knows the sisters visited. He also is realizing his quest for crown prince will lose the princess. He is going to have to start making hard choices. The princess has nicely distracted the troops from looking for celestial prince, but third prince is caught in the act of sneaking out. He is definitely gonna lie….just wondering what he is going to concoct as a story.

They do not yet know that celestial shard is absorbing underground fires. He has been saving the village as much as they think he has cost it. The young boy dying was a tragic accident. He did not have the vocabulary to say what had happened nor did they have the doctor to heal such burns. He has done his best to keep people away. YeTan understands that he is not the menace they think he is and she tries using a potion on him to draw out the heat. He and villagers think he has been poisoned and villagers want to kill him. What is stupid is the gang just stands there chatting letting a village mob form😝 This was another stupid thing. There were better ways than playing dumb. The writer needs a better device to move things along and have certain people interact. YeTan ends up going home to get money to pay off the village but it is only enough for a month. The shard sees her doing this and tries to understand why. She finds wood chess pieces she carved in a box in special bureau. She thinks the only reason her father kept them is because he thought QingKui had carved them. I wonder if somewhere there was a shred of any feeling for his other daughter. He was not a good father to either of them. None of the fathers are decent parents and one not even a good person. It’s amazing their children weren’t even more messed up. The empress and second son pushed for third son and QingKui to be permanently jailed and medicine forbidden. Third son’s mother spoke in her defense followed by snake clan Saintess. This starts a ripple of defenders for her that sways the tyrant to give it a trial basis. An apothecary is officially established in the void. The first son has made a declaration of his feelings for her.

The shard quest begins. Younger siblings join beast prince YeTan and her friend to hunt down the three missing shards. Prince looks good in red.😍😁 This one is a fire demon. Luckily YeTan did not sell armor fabric. Now she stands a chance of surviving. Qingkui is becoming famous for healing skills. Third prince decided if her skills could not be under wraps that getting nobility involved might be the way to go to change laws about medicine. One from snake clan came. This was a risk because same clan as empress. Princess did an excellent job and patient was quite beautiful when bandages removed. This one agreed to print up tip book by Princess for healthier living and beauty tips. Qingkui has become an angel of service. YeTan has chosen a very different path. The memorial to celestial prince was much different from actual shard. 😂I am much more optimistic for her now that she has the fireproof cloth.

Celestial Prince truly gave his all. It was heartbreaking to see. The plotting of the three brothers continue. Now is a race to see who kills celestial Prince. Good thing they do not know his soul has already gone to the skies. I absolutely hate it when they make women do stupid things🤬 All that silliness with the dog and tag are just stupid. This could have been eliminated entirely but they always think making women dumb is funny. Like the friend and the bell….it is ridiculous and wasteful of time. I am glad gatekeeper got the princess out of lost souls cavern but I am disappointed that Prince gains ground with her telling her about YeTan but failing to mention that what will gain his happiness will cost sister’s. This writer has warped ways of handling yin yang.😝 The empress and second son know to be more watchful of third son now. YeTan went to land of mystery but soul orbs were lost. She now has to find the humans they turn into and make all of them fall in love with her to regain shards and have Prince come back to life. She will now be playing the dating game😝 I liked when she told the emperor and tyrant off. It was not completely true but all these realms sit on their laurels and expect one sole person to bail them out. And then he doesn’t want son resurrected because he thinks all evil. The prince shut off all love. All these bad fathers are annoying. They all need therapy😝 The beast and human are cowards, the tyrant is power grasping and the empyrean self righteous that he knows the right choice for everybody. YeTan spoke the words of the people and the rulers needed to hear it. While it was on mainly deaf ears…they at least have had to reflect, even if only a moment that they are failures in certain respects. It is ironic that the bad omen child is the one with the clearest truth.

The invasion of heavenly realm has begun. Celestial Prince is fixing rift and left kingdom to little brother. I hate the writer wasted time having YeTan still debate to join Void. That did not ring true after the time and affection she has been shown in celestial realm. That they would have her debate while her new family defended her was just a big ick for me😝 The third son has shown up to help the father at a very opportune time. YeTan’s chat with the Void tyrant was well timed, unfortunately so was third son’s arrival. And while this is troubling it looks like the rift was not repaired and that celestial prince may have given his life to fail. Now to see if YeTan’s identity revealed.

Dark swirls invade all the realms as a new leak from Guixu makes itself known. The third prince panics because Princess is out gathering herbs and isn’t back yet. Once she returns he gives her a warm hug because he is so relieved. The other realms are sending messages of panic for the Empyrean emperor to send the prince to fix the gap. The celestial prince is cultivating in mystery island and is unaware of what is happening. YeTan manages to break through to the prince and wake him from meditation. Together she sees him as a child and his mentor sacrificing himself to fix Guixu. She seas the Prince’s biggest fear which is literally fear itself. She reminds the prince that his mentor was also terrified as he threw himself over, that fear was a true part of yourself that wasn’t wrong. Once the prince reconciled his fear with himself and accepted it as part of who he actually is, he immediately cultivated to pure form. Once he did and realized he had to go he turns YeTan into a pretty purple rock and reveals all his true feelings and what he was about to do. She is not turned back until he has already left so it is a bittersweet moment for her with no goodbyes. Her sis in Void is taken to the cavern of lost souls. The third prince has provided for her protection. There she learns the cavern isn’t so scary. She plucks the string of an instrument and discovers the spirit of a deer. It reminded me of a Patronus in Harry Potter. The king of the Void is using the time the prince is fixing Guixu to attack the celestial realm. He bargains with his three sons that whoever invades and successfully takes over the gate to celestial realm that that son is the heir and gets the princess as prize. The two brothers with their armies are going through the barrier to celestial realm. The third son goes back to declare his love for the princess. She accepts and they have a sweet first kiss and hug. 🥰

Celestial Prince with YeTan😂 First she is frozen and then looks like charcoal😂 QingKui felt it. Third Prince is actually quite sweet with his princess date. But as usual he has to embellish his tales. YeTan gets a very special star gift. I was actually hoping she would give it back to the sky. Slowly but surely celestial prince is adapting. Beast Prince 😂 He has been the cutest puppy but he’s had enough. He wants to get YeTan out but finds out it will be one month before she is rid of iridescent eyes. YeTan realizes all the things he has done for her and says a sincere thank you. She also loudly declares they are sworn siblings which is a dagger in his heart, but she said so quickly after seeing him, he finally realized that was the extent of her love for him. Third son gives his princess his mother’s necklace. She agrees to go along with his scheme and is pleased when she sees the necklace. But then she learns it is the princess and quietly pinches her son several times.🤣 QingKui says she can cure her headaches and she is overjoyed it is possible. She has been stricken with them for thousands of years and is overjoyed that they can be gone. They leave to get herbs and make medicine for her. At episode end a storm is brewing and involves Guixu.

Eldest brother is right over QingKui when his meridians are blocked and he gets flipped on the ground from her medicine😂 He is shocked and amazed and wants to learn acupuncture. Third prince is jealous and reveals his strength for one blow. Brother two and empress laughing with glee because these two puppets are playing the song designed for them. Third prince begs to be taught martial arts and uses it as opportunity to play dumb and plant the weapons in his brother.🤣 He is caught red handed by the princess who uses another form of medicine this time. She wants him to reflect and has made him the envy color green. He looks ready to play Wicked musical😂he finally gives up and kneels in front of her door while his best friend apologizes for him. He is like the town crier announcing loudly all of the prince’s sins and regret of them😂 The prince has relocated the green to other parts.🤣 in the heavenly realm YeTan realizes if you can’t beat them join them. The prince was trying to find his old notes to help her but he plays strict authoritarian and refuses to remove iridescent eyes til she is truly the consort. So..she sticks to him like white on rice offering assistance from tea to bath towel.🤣She tries to share her stinky tofu and promises to introduce him to all her favorite dishes. She promises strongly that they will be together forever..😂 When the prince finally snaps she promises she will always look the other way and ignore him if he will remove the iridescent eyes. Neither want to cave so it’s a battle of wits as to who can keep it up the longest. Family and friends try to set them up with a romantic night under the stars and it is a complete disaster. In exasperation the prince takes off with her in tow for a private conversation. Both princes have fallen for their girl but their entire world has been turned upside down along with their hearts. Waiting to see the resolution for these four next episode. The one ominous thing is sweet coriander asking about a soul collecting spell. That really seems well above her pay grade. Who is she wanting it for and why?
