I thought this movie was going to be a big meh, but I actually enjoyed it. I mean, it's nothing special,…
What do you mean by "Kento's acting wasn't even that bad here"? Who has ever said that his acting here is bad? Those who complained didn't like the directing and camerawork, nothing about the acting. You might think that you're defending him but in fact your wordings are doing the opposite.
I'm so mad at the writer. Instead of letting the story unfold and progress in a meaningful way with thoughtful, heart-warming writing, she chose to go backwards with stupid love triangle to fill the rest of the episodes. She's just too lazy to come up with anything original or creative. She did it with Koinaka and did it again here. The limit of her capability is just that? Can she at least once do a decent job?
I think the story is getting better in ep2. Mirei's also toned down her over-the-top acting. Kento's easily pulled…
I agree. Even though overacting is sometimes required for comedic effects but there's a fine balance. And Miritani clearly crossed over the fine line to annoying many times. Moreover, I'm not sure if she was asked to play that way but her manners and her expressions are too similar to her role in Heroine Shikkaku.
In term of acting, I think both Yamazaki and Nomura did very well. They are a lot more subtle. They manage to make their characters believable without dispensing broad expression or movement. I'm still on the fence about Miura's acting though.
Why does Yamazaki Kento play the same character in so many movies - the over confident arrogant guy that treats…
There are subtle differences between them, though and he did play them differently, creating completely different vibes. That's why I think he's brilliant.

Hint: orange is the color of sunset. In the final scene, looking at sunset reminds them of Kakeru because they promised to see it together on the day he died.
I still think that Kento Yamazaki did amazingly as the "lone hurt boy" Rita. But I like the rest of…
I can't wait either. I really like the manga. I'm sure that he won't. You're right that he needs more challenging projects. There's rumors (with photos) circulating around that he's cast as Shin in an LA adaptation of "Kingdom". Not too challenging, but I guess it's good enough

Of course I knew you loved Kento :-). I didn't mind your honest opinion on his performance in this movie at all. I just offered what I thought. I'm waiting for Orange too. I also heard that his take on the tragic Kakeru was brilliant.
