I'm not sure how they gonna do with the plot. As far as I know, censorship won't allow villainous character as main in the drama. They might have to twist something. Otherwise it will take years for the drama to come out. Or maybe they will stick to plot but this drama won't have promotion. I like the plot based on description. They'll be dillema for all characters involved.

There's none so far I think. The novel 1st publish in 2022. So it's kinda new. This novel is the author's first work.

Actually when the casting first exposed on September 2022, there was only XK as ML and TSY as FL. Actually there was another actor who wanted the role (I don't want to name him, it'll cause trouble) but the drama production wanted XK.

Yes, in Yanxi, even though we didn't know the exact details but this part was handled well. Her treason act and the reason for it were excellent in leading to more distrust between Emperor and Step Empress.

There are so many palace etiquettes shown in Ruyi that is questionable like how the Emperor dined with all concubines, Empress Dowager and all the royal childrens. That's not in history actually. 😂 And like you, I think they didn't what to make the Emperor of, he was so idle as if no country duty. and Ruyi was selfish, like she had no duty of her own..

Yes.... but actually I didn't finish watching the drama to judge the overall plot but as far as I have seen, they didn't handle the vague parts of the history well. This drama is from Step Empress pov so they make Empress Fuca and Ling evil to uplift this side of story but I think it can be done well if they handle the details well. But they didn't. And I can't stand the acting of the Emperor and the Step Empress too.. 😂

Royal Feast is also good. It's the same scriptwriter with Yanxi Palace. The way the drama handle history facts are better than Ming Dynasty. In Ming Dynasty, they made Empress Hu the villain when in fact, she was not evil, Emperor deposed her because Sun and him were lover and he intent to be with Sun. But Emperor did not mistreated Hu, Hu was even allowed to attend official ceremonies and sit at the Empress' seat and Sun didn't have problem with it.

Yes, regardless of the details, the drama managed to make up the obscure details of estrangement process between Chun and Emperor, and Step Empress with Emperor. For me, their act of betrayal shown in the drama justifies/explains why they were being ousted from Palace Tomb. The rest of other concubines still have their tomb inside together with the Emperor. Compare to what Ruyi did, the reason for her to cut her hair was so shallow for her to be ousted from Palace Tomb.

Very well put. And to add up some more, in history, the Step Empress and Noble Consort Chun were buried outside of palace tomb adding up more to the estranged relationship between Emperor and Step Empress. The way the drama make used of this fact by made up the unforgivable sin commited by both to verify how they both ended up not being honored by Emperor after their death while Empress Fucha and Consort Ling were buried next to Emperor's tomb.

He's a good person but he also treads well as wrong steps will lead to disaster when you play with sly people like YZ.

In Court Lady, he was absent for 7 eps straight. That is his own company drama and the producer is his boss, they cut his scenes. For Snow Eagle Lord, his average appearance per eps only 11 minutes (out of total 45mins), and it was called the missing Snow Eagle Lord drama. When he was a newcomer, he didn't received same treatment like the rest of newcomers, he didn't appear in 20 eps out of 70 eps. His boss got other priority, total forgot about him I guess.
