I'm a sucker for contract marriage/fake relationship dramas. My hope going into this was that at least it would be an average drama. I was disappointed. Acting aside for majority of the actors, the male lead just wasn't it.
Initially upon starting this drama I didn't care for the female lead and thought the male lead was nice. Somewhere in the middle, my opinions changed for both characters. I begin to love the female lead and started to hate the male lead. Hwan Young was was too good for Pil Seo. Everything she did was for him. He didn't think about her when he did stupid stuff. Every time Pil Seo had a scandal, poor Hwan Young was trying to fix it.
Pil Seo's reason for getting married to Hwan Young was to protect his first love, Ga In/Jia Ren. But he had no problem continually meeting her and putting himself in compromising positions every time he met her. Then to try to get himself out of the situation he was in to try and continue to protect Ga In he created another situation with Hwan Young's stylist, Seon Hwa/Sun Hua. But wait, there's more. After helping turn the stylist into a star, Pil Seo runs lines with her for practice she kisses him and Hwan Young sees it. He never apologizes to her for any of the issues he causes. Then he has the audacity to say to Hwan Young to not do anything that would ruin his reputation as an actor when he does that all by himself.
Honestly their chemistry as a couple was not there either. As I was watching I was honestly sad that they were going to be together because Hwan Young deserved better. Pil Seo's sacrifice at the end still did not change my opinion of him either. I really adore Zhou Mi so I am upset his character sucked. One of the worst make leads ever.
OMG YAY!!!!! Ahn Jae Hyun's first drama lead role and he is a vampire! I'm all in. Only thing that worries me is that the main lead is Koo Hye Sun. Don't get me wrong I love her but sometimes her acting is a little stiff and weird. I hope she has improved on her kissing technique, even if it is just a little I will be satisfied.
