Thank you Netflix for giving me the option of watching at 1.5X speed. Still needed some parts to be faster though.

Best part about ep17 is what happened to the king's uncle.

Just watched ep3. I think it would have been perfect to end the episode with duk im fainting and falling in the water. Hahaha....

Title The King's Affection Spoiler
What makes you think it's bad?
1. Drying sheet of cloth in the middle of the palace, sheet of cloth that doesn't look like it's used for anything. It's not sewed into blankets, clothes, etc etc. Where in the palace would they use such see through pieces of useless cloth?
2. Stalking/following people by being 5 steps away. How blind were the being being spied on?
3. Time switch from past to present to past. That was totally confusing as to where we were in the timeline, there's a reason why ppl put past scenes in septia tone.
4. Excessive flash back = I have writer's block and don't know how to continue the story so I shall insert the same flash back here.

A few examples.... 😁

This is just in the first episode.

Watching ep2 now and it hurts to watch them waste water. Knowing how much the previous cast suffered getting water and filling it up. This group is going to be hurting badly with the water situation the way they waste water now.

To be fair, there's an epilogue (linked in related titles) that is a prequel timeline-wise so it's all So Yong,…
Wow. what a long comment :) I'll reply you according to your paragraph.

1. The epilogue/spin off ie Mr Queen: The Bamboo forest is separate, if they wanted those moments to be included into the main series then they should have included it instead of showing us multiple flash backs of So Yong killing herself. Therefore, I will not take what happened in the epilogue as part of my review. The spin off was an afterthought, a sort of fan service the production thought up because ratings were on the up and up weekly.

2. For me, there was never an indication from the production that SoYong was there. He never sensed her, he even told Cheoljong and Byung In that he’s not that Kim So Yong. Him talking to himself and the struggle he had with himself wasn’t because she was taking over but because he was in denial of his own feelings and actions. He went there for nothing because he did everything and got nothing in return; I already wrote this in my review. If I were to explain it in a situation today’s people can relate is that you were transferred to a team against your will because 1 member dropped out and the project was ticking time bomb and you did everything to revive the project and at the cusp of success, that damn member pop back in and finish the job by sealing the envelop and there you are 200 years later looking back at some nutjob who stole your hardwork.

3. I have no response to your 3rd paragraph.

4. I don’t know where you’re from, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be friends with your butcher. Just because someone is ok with dismembering an animal carcass, doesn’t mean they’re ok with a decaying human body. Let’s ask Gordon Ramsey if he could do it. Bong Hwan may have served in the Special Forces but he trained with guns and tear gas. I don’t think they get sword training and poison training. He may know hand to hand combat but he’s established that the body is too weak. What does the Sewol Ferry incident have to do with Bong Hwan anyway? He wasn’t there. Like the rest of the world, he probably saw it on the news. His life wasn’t in danger when the ferry capsized; how would that incident have helped him man up? It’s like telling those that served in Iraq that they’re aren’t entitled to PTSD because they were trained for it.

5. I agree with you, we both saw different a drama, mine was 19 episodes of Bong Hwan making lemonades and 1 episode of Bong Hwan being screwed coz someone drank his lemonade.

Happy drama watching to you.

You know who is the real victim in this whole mess? It is Cheoljong. Poor boy has been deceived by love twice…
Bong Hwan was a bag and a half of crazy. He deserves it if he can't tell the 2 apart.

If the production needed 2 special episodes for me to buy whatever mumbo jumbo they were trying to sell in the first place then the initial sales pitch wasn't that good to begin with. The special episodes are supposed to be fan service? To extend our feel goods - Not a band aid.

Omg reading your comment put me into soo much perspective. I was happy with the ending (I still am!) I don't watch…
I'm going to add 'examine a dead body' and 'watch someone get killed' to the list of Bong Hwan's trauma.

I couldn't sleep last night because I was so confused. Its like I been having a relationship with the wrong twin…
let me rephrase, it's like I've been dating someone and all of a sudden i'm told that there is a twin and I've been dating both at the same time when I didn't know the other twin existed and the original twin i thought dated doesn't exist anymore. It's a huge bucket of confusion.

nah bruh ur being too harsh just because the ending didn't live up to your expectation u cant bring the whole…
yo bruh! 7 is decent for plot. The writers did this to themselves. Up until Bong Hwan was yanked out, he didn't even know So Yong was in there. Therefore, I ain't buying no So Yong was there the entire time plot line. I didn't give it a 1 because I did enjoy it until episode 18.

At least people grieved and missed Tony. Poor Bong Hwan got nothing. Damn So Yong didn't even thank him in her heart.

Watching episode 20 is like watching avengers endgame and suddenly captain marvel just swoops in and saves the day. Audience are like "who the heck?" And the writers are like... Yeah... You need to watch captain marvel's movie, it's explained there.

BH managed to survive in joseon because he knew history and knew how things worked back then unlike the queen...…
It would make a great comedy. Besides, apart from her decision to kill herself she wasn't a complete idiot. Queen InHyun's man drama had a man time travelled from the past to the present and he wasn't a complete idiot.

I can't say I'm not disappointed by the ending. If they really wanted Soyong back they could have surprised us…
That would be a great season 2. choi Jin hyuk playing a man who has the soul of a queen 200 years ago.
