Interesting opinion. I don't see it the way you do, for me they look similar age and casting choice was fine but I agree such a large age gap is problematic. As for the level of flirting, I think it's a matter of the characters themselves. At first, Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin also had a more tense relationship than flirting (actually it never stopped to be tense).
I think we'll be able to comment on the chemistry between the characters once the kidnapping issue is resolved at the beginning of the next ep.

But you're talking about american actress who's popular. Actually if we're talking about americans, 60% of actors earn so little that they do not qualify for health insurance. To obtain them, you must earn the minimum wage. So often, I'm not saying always, but often they don't really have a choice. This guy looks like my sister so I totally see some manly, menacing vibe😂. He is too young to play soldier but who knows? Maybe he exacly will be perfect for this role? They shouldn't choose an actor based on looks, but on skills. Maybe he just was the best. Also this story will take place in Thailand and possibly 20 years later than the plot of the book predicts. I don't know anything about the Thai military, but it's very likely that BLY won't be a pilot anymore😔

I don't know if you've seen the original version of this series, but the main characters in the book are much more like those than from Stay With Me. The wonderful thing is that both versions touch on aspects from the book that the other series didn't.

Oh my, I'm jealous that you're just getting started with this book. This is my absolute favourite, the second volume is even better than the first. Nothing has made me cry, choke with laughter and stay awake at night reading this. The title of the novel is Are You Addicted? (Chinese Hai Luo Yin what is funny cause chinese names of characters are Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin. Their name together means heroin). It's easy to find: Wattpad, wordpress, novelupdates. BUT I personally recommend this version the most.

The authors of this translation did a great job of footnotes to all the puns and things explaining details such as the differences between the types of shirt collars and what they symbolize, Chinese military grades or foods (I'm not joking, it was really there😂). Plus, this version is compressed in a lovely edition that makes me want to print it all out

She actually act like every adult person who still have fun from life. Totally all people from art collage😂. I hate watching romances, but just because her behavior was so unique, I really enjoyed watching it.

The reason it feels unfinished is because it is... China's goverment banned it before the end and as I remember in plans there were at least 2 eps more? They even filmed some scenes with great escape to the sea (as it was in novel) but they couldn't show it...
