idk why people are criticising this drama so much....it was pretty decent actually. it was quite enjoyable all…
True. It was an OK watch, I've watched far worse. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a masterpiece per se, but it didn't make me wanna stab my eyeballs out with a rusty fork either.
Someone please tell me why they're keeping a seemingly well functioning woman, who is of no threat to herself or anyone around her, in a hospital ward.
I've been watching dramas for a long time (12+ years) and I scratch my head when people say 'Kdramas used to be…
Oof! South Korea is the birthplace of the revenge drama, no one can convince me otherwise. And this one felt like a nice throwback to the golden age of Korean makjang with a modern twist to it.
Im shocked at the rating. This drama was amazing. I was hooked in the whole time and also cried my eyes out at…
Don't think everyone appreciated the shock content and the nudity. Shows with such elements in them usually garner a lower rating on here. To me, it felt like the premise of the show was all over the place. Without knowing, I could tell this had to be adapted from a novel or a webtoon or something else as these types of shows usually tend to be contrived for obvious reasons. I can identify bits and parts that really impressed me about the show but I don't really think all the bits and parts are coming well together. I'm not sure what I just watched and I'm not sure if I hated it or loved it, but the experience was definitely unique. Regardless of everything, I don't think anyone here who watched this show will be forgetting it any time soon. That's for sure.
The scene where she forces him to have hypnotherapy in ep 9, only to have him relive the trauma of seeing his best buddy burning to his death, was just mean and insensitive.
People especially the female side Fandom (not all but Many) yes I said it cuz it's real don't need a lot of reasons…
I see a lot of unwarranted hate towards female leads as well and it annoys me too, but here, it's actually warranted. And it's not because of the actress. Her character is just really inconsistently written.
I’m at ep 7 and I absolutely hate it, should I quit?
I feel the same way. Watching it for the cast. I'm a sucker for Oh Yeon Seo, but holy f*ck is her character written badly, hard to like her when she keeps getting in the way of everything.
I don't understand the great reviews about this drama because it has been raising some questions from me since…
Keep watching chingu 😁 These sort of dramas are designed to make you like the main character and have him look normal, only for you to later realize that not all is what it seems.
I'd like to watch but can't stand lee sung kyung, oh well
It's not that I can't stand her. I think she is super cute, love seeing her on the screen but her acting is a bit.. meh . I watched it for KYD after seeing him in The Forbidden Marriage.
This drama loses points on it being silly, pretentious, and not being credible. I mean, it all seems like a play. I don't think KYD and LSk had any chemistry, friendship wise maybe but nothing romantically.
I watched this when it first came out and I came back to read the reviews because of the FL. She's in another…
A big chunk of this drama was heavily fictionalized but believe it or not, the part of her rejecting him is historically accurate. In the historical records, he proposed to her twice and got rejected twice. When Yi San first proposed to her he was 15. Deok Im rejected him, reasoning that Queen Hyoui (whom Yi San had married when he was 9 years old) was still childless and it would create problems related to the queen's standing if Deok Im were to conceive a child first.
Also, a little shout out to OP cause this part under point 4 had me cackling: "If you're going to write that dark of a life for someone... they deserve some version of a happy ending"
Unfortunately this part is not fiction. This guy actually lived a pretty tragic life. Add to that that he only got to be 47. Didn't even get to see his own son's marriage. The cause of his death? Nobody knows.
I gave it 6 because of Yoo Ah In performance only, otherwise, I'd give it 1 only !!!..it's not the acting that…
I agree. They painted King Yeongjo as the bad guy here. And got a beautiful, sad father-son story out of it nevertheless. However, fact remains that Prince Sado was suffering from a range of psychiatric symptoms. Many of his cruel acts can't be ascribed to parental neglect alone. I kind of missed some of that in this movie as well. But it still made me cry. It's such a gut wrenching story.
I do like this drama. Not that much of a fan of Song Hae Kyo though. She's just so stoic and emotionless, it's…
If you can't see why an actress who is known for her stoic and detached acting was perfectly cast for the role of a grown woman who still carries the physical as well as mental scars of a severely tormented child who was stripped of every ounce of dignity and worth by her peers and left without protection from those who should have sheltered her, then I'm afraid I can't help you see it better.

Nice production.
