WTF. I'm sad you couldn't immense yourself into the drama because of ageism or whatever you're trying to explain your viewpoint by. But I'd say it's a minor detail, I won't say you're not right when you say the FL looked older than intended but I'd personally take that any day over an FL that was cast with the 'right' age but who'd have zero chemistry with her co-star. You gotta give it to them, the chemistry between the two leads here was undeniable.
Yi Seo was definitely the product of poor and inconsistent writing. They were going for edgy and bold with her…
Tell me about it! Was brought back here because of a comment somebody had left me, and the frustration I felt while watching this just came rushing back in for a second ππ
ok but can we as a society talk abt how stellar this show would b without the love line?? like itβs so bad?π
I legit thought people were exaggerating. Was so ready to recommend this show to everyone I know and their mother. Deadass. The love line ruined it all.
Yiseo might be the most annoying female lead ever and people still complain over Cha Eunsang...She racist, doesn't…
Yi Seo was definitely the product of poor and inconsistent writing. They were going for edgy and bold with her character, I get that, but there's always a fine line between that and trying too hard. And this definitely fell on the trying-too-hard side. Most of her interactions with the other characters felt unauthentic and unnatural, not even being a sociopath (which she was NOT) could make her character feel more excusable. However, I don't agree that Soo Ah was far more interesting. She was Uninteresting.com. Hit it up in a dictionary and you'd see a picture of her face by the word "Uninteresting". She was a major BOOH! Everything that's wrong with this world. Cool part was that she had ambitions and didn't care what she had to sacrifice in order to get what she wanted, her pride, her ego etc. So far so cool, little bit icky, but nevertheless somewhat respectable. But bruh, you do - not - take - people - for - granted. You simply do not. You appreciate them. Girl thought they were gonna stick around forever, love her and adore her forever. Girl get over yourself. At this point, you deserve someone taking things away from you.
(adfghjkl I'm still mad about this show, sorry, rant over)
FL is trash no matter how much i empathize with her on later episodes. Can't believe people praising such behaviour…
This comment is trash too. To make it substantial you'd have to back up your statement with examples, explaining your views. Why do you think she's trash, what qualities do you look for in a strong female character, and what qualities does she possess that you deem unworthy of praise.
Well, it's also the fact that he's so damn fine to the mostly females on here (no doubt to plenty of gay/bi guys…
^THIS
I honestly care a lot about what type of projects actors sign up for, but Ji Sung could choose anything and it wouldn't matter, we'd still watch it. Most of the dramas he's been starring in has been pretty basic with the exception of a few brilliant ones in between (you know which ones). If anything, I'd wish he DID choose better dramas. He's got a knack for darker characters but doesn't get these sort of roles too often. Cast him as a painfully badass villain - I'd eat that shit raw!
I guess the fourth time is a charm... lol... I finally made it past episode two... Now that I'm on episode 10…
Yeah, can't believe no one's talking about that. I mean, sure, I've looked at my screen countless times and thought, fvck, why is this jerk such an ass??? But at the end of the day, he's just a product of his father's emotional neglect and abuse. You really can't help feeling sorry for him, especially in those couple of scenes when we catch a glimpse of what he really is: A big child at heart who is desperately yearning for the approval and care he never got, playing a role he never wanted to play. It's so obvious he wants to come clean and make things right from the start, and he keeps wanting to do so throughout the whole thing but keeps missing the timing. And at some point, you just don't get any more chances to rectify yourself. Parental approval is a ten ton brick. It's so crazy how much it can weigh down on someone. That's why it's interesting to see him compared to his brother, it serves as a good contrast. It wouldn't be right to compare their individual experiences of course, but interesting to see how vastly differently they tackle their situations.
every damn character is getting on my nerves. dropped it. π
Yeah, the characters make this a challenging watch. They tried too hard to make them as unique and interesting as possible that it sort of came out forced and soulless. However, if you're a PSJ fan, you'll wanna watch this regardless. I'm used to seeing him in more lighthearted shows, so seeing him in a more tragic setting is really refreshing. The way he glares here is absolutely new to me. Raw emotion is pouring out of those eyes!!
its not "boring", it gives a really strange vibe while watching it kinda reminds me of the movie Burning, both…
I'm sorry but the pacing loses you midway, which is a problem. I'm at ep 5 and find this extremely interesting but draggy enough for me consider dropping it. I had to watch the last two eps I watched on 2x speed to make up for the odd pacing - which I shouldn't have to. Also, I cannot connect with any of the characters. I get that the FL can't read dangerous situations well due to her condition but how tf could a "cop" have such bad judgment?
You nailed it with this review. I never fast forward anything I watch. And if I do press the 2x button, that show for me has inarguably lost me with its pacing.
Think I'll watch something else, as I doubt I'll be anything but annoyed by the end of this show.

The pilot episode blew me away
