I think what is going on is an understanding of trust, friendship, “real life” love and honesty.. , between the main 4 people... all of them have trust issues (2 leads plus JJ and In huang)
It seems that The ML has to get on with his life, but is haunted by the fact that he’s lost his best friend (let’s hope they become friends again) and the girl that he liked. (Ie: he couldn’t protect her or his mom). He finds himself lacking ..seemingly not happy and seeing what he gave up for fame

the FL seems independent ..yet has been screwed by her boss and lied to by her ex. & now the TV show people are messing with her..also her mom must not be easy to get along with or she would have confided in her what is going on..instead sometimes she just doesn’t speak (she can be kind of like her dad..he’s henpecked by the mom) she always seems to be pushed aside for something else...(ie: best friend having her bf live with her and FL realizing she’s a third wheel) she hangs on to her pride and tries her best but is not as strong as she thinks she is.. trusting the ML (or anyone) to her is uncomfortable..I seriously liked when she wouldn’t sign with the company and stood by her self respect ...kudos to her :)

You can see that the ML is becoming more attracted to her and I think that may be bc she doesn’t fawn all over him and she’s snarky to him.. he’s totally imperfect in his own way, behaving like “gold” in front of the camera and he’s like a snarky person at her when he thinks he’s not being filmed. Showing us that the FL is right, he really isn’t who he actually is because he can’t be.

It seems as though “stars” are not allowed to be imperfect, their fans want a certain person and he tries to be that. She is causing him to look at his falseness and he doesn’t quite like that.

The other couple are unhealthy ..he’s jealous (however..I think IH really does love JJ..she wants to be her own person and not rely on him) hopefully he will accept her becoming herself and realize the more you try to take away something (the ML) the more a person is going to want it.
JJ seems to love her, but does he want her so much bc he is so jealous of HJ.. or does he truly love her .. that distrust is driving them apart , yet in his own way JJ is forcing IH to be stronger and fight him a bit (i wish she was more honest and outspoken though..and what pills is she takin?? they need counseling, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen in this drama..just sayin. Lol

The FL getting lost gave the ML an opportunity to rescue her and feel important to her as the next episode will hopefully bring them together more as he is called upon to protect her. That’s a big issue with him .. him many ways he’s overprotected and still stuck in the past. I’m hoping they both help each other move into the present and learn to trust. Honestly though I’m enjoying all their imperfections bc in a big way we are all imperfect...

I’m hoping this will evolve and not be a bunch of misunderstandings after they fall in love so to speak.

I’m actually enjoying this bc I had seen the Chinese version and wanted it expanded in a deeper way.

I’ve learned to just enjoy the dramas as they are bc it lets me rewrite them in my mind when they don’t go the way I want (honestly..I’m a terrible story writer I always need a base to start with so these dramas are my way of “if this were my story..it would go this way.. and now I’m a rom com writer” That’s a a big ...LOL

I was wondering why at the end of episode 2 she mentions living with him.. and I realized she sees that he’s not as cruel as he thinks he is.. he held her hand not once but twice...at one point bc he said “ he thought she wanted it.another time bc he said if she didn’t she would die (which obviously was not the truth)
He picked up the pieces of glass from her picture,..more or less told her he has no free will, this is his ‘fate”..I think she sees him similar to her loneliness. She has no options..her life will run out and he offers a comfort of sort. When he asked if he could come get her in the morning and rescued her from her ex, I think her decision was made... there’s more to Doom than meets the eye and I think she wants to see if she can change his fate in some way. (Im just pondering...:)
(Also..who are we kidding...the guy is so freakin adorable ...like a bad guy with a soft heart) lol
He keeps saying he “a doesn’t care” but then he keeps looking after her..

I also noticed he turned around to look at the light on the bridge that had gone out..turn back on.. sb interesting to see what she means in his life. ..sb interesting to see what her gifts are.
I’m gonna love this drama ..

Wow...totally hooked on this drama. So many clues in the second episode .. excellent writing, but these two are phenomenal actors!!! Awesome. He,is try.. they speak to my heart.... the looks they give each other... he may say he doesn’t feel anything but the fact that he Kees-s taking her hand says otherwise..

(also... every now and then . I try not to imagine her as strong woman Bon soon (seriously she could have thrown the ex bf around and tackled the truck bearing down on her:)

Wonder what he did to cause him to become doom as and it seems as if the other deity is working in her own way to stop him from destroying things.. but she created him..?
Love her co-workers ..brother ..interesting to see how they carry the story forward..
Anyhoo sooo looking forward to the next episode

It was a “finale” and they did it well
Honestly . there were only a few ways that this drama could go and this went in the direction I thought it would.
That being said Vincenzo did manage to bring out the best in people and in most cases they rose to the challenge to see what they were made of. Instead of being victims. He had a sense of purpose ..being a villain that is righteous in his own way... also the “family “ was created bc of him and having them back each other up was vitally important.
For me it was a drama..... I remove all sense of reality and immerse myself in the story. There were many holes in the plot, but the entertainment value was truly awesome . I thought the FL was perfect for him and I liked that she valued her independence and was her own person. She was never a clingy weak person (loved her humor, strength, quirkiness, comedy etc)
Vincenzo was himself..he knew from the get go that family is the most important thing. That’s what mafia is about.. you back each other up.. However..it’s violent and you can never really”walk away” from it.. you’re in the family for life..or death...betrayal is met with their justice...

. What I liked was Vincenzo measured a person by their “authenticity” I admired him for that
,all his interactions with people were his observations and measuring of them.. yet still he managed to grow and soften a bit along the way
Every lead character was awesome in their own way and that can be hard to do. To get to know them and enjoy learning about all the sub plots was fun.
they formed a cohesive bond ..you got to know and care about them.

The evil people.. well there was the REALLY evil guy Jun Woo.. who seriously defined evil..but so did the -people around him .. he seemed to bring out the worst in his “family” ..but was it there in them already?

so what strengths/goodness/evilness etc...is in each person and what makes a person redeemable..? I think thats what some of this drama of this was about

I think the writers were amazing and they kept me entertained for 20 plus hours.. it was a journey and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was bummed when Mr. Queen was done and thinking about what “addictive drama” was gonna come up next..and this was it...
now it’s time to find the next drama :D

Ohhh ..ok that makes so much more sense!!:) lol.. I was trying to figure out what the older brothers deal is bc he doesn’t seem like a bad person, but his behavior was odd,...and at times undermining the younger brother...
like getting the younger brothers ex to work with him and keeping tabs on Pei, as well as sort of kidnapping the younger sister when she’s at the park with the other brother..
(It’s so hard to watch a drama without subs, but I was determined to binge it..it’s so cute:)

It’s hard to watch bc the subs are not all there..the dialog is going on but I don’t know what they are saying...I’ll check back tomorrow and see if it’s better

It’s because the older brother is in love with the sister that was suppose to marry the younger brother. So he’s very protective of her trying to keep her safe with him at his place. The guy Pei is looking for the twin bc he is in love with her and Yue yue asked him to look into her whereabouts...and she wants to a make sure she’s ok. So that s why the older brother befriends him..(Pei) to keep an eye on him and not let him get info on her
So the older brother is making sure the twin he is in love with is safe and doesn’t marry his younger brother ...that’s as much as I get so far in the subbed episodes. Also the grandfather must be mad at him or something ..bc the company went to the younger brother

I’m so glad they subbed episode 8 bc up to that point I thought the older brother was evil..lol.. I just saw ep 9 is subbed so I’ll watch that one in a few minutes. Yes I’m totally enjoying this drama. And I love that the ML is just so sweet and understanding and she is spontaneous and makes him smile. It’s really a sweet drama.. I’ll have to find that preview clip..Did. You see it on you tube?

Just checked..breakup is end of 15/beg 16 and back together is beginning of 18.. he shows up at her restaurant and she is happy to see him as is he and they’re back together,
The thing I can’t figure out is the older brother and his plot with the sisters friend Pei Xu... he seems to like the other twin but the older brother is dating her and hanging out with him at the bar and setting up what looks like plans to take down his younger brother Wen Chan.
I see ep 8 is subbed so I’ll probably rewatch some episodes when they sub them so I really know what is going on:)

She changes her look through the drama ..I think it’s to show her maturing a bit ..but she maintains that air of being childlike and quirky.. which kind of suits him bc he’s so serious . It’s definitely a funny rom com at times

I just looked it up..it’s episode 20 and He doesn’t appear to be.. he seriously loves her . In fact they laugh and then hug...however There is a short break up for like 2 episodes (13? 14? ) bc the grandfather makes them break up (not sure why)
So she opens a restaurant and he comes to see her bc he really misses her and they get back together... these two are a joy to watch .. there’s an episode where they go to a fun house type of place and jump on the trampoline and run around and I just laughed ..they were really cute.

he seriously likes her and it’s adorable bc it’s her quirkiness, spontaneity, friendliness resourcefulness,.cuteness (etc) she’s like a breath of fresh air to him.
I feel like he’s someone who never had any affection in his life, he’s trying to please his family and he’s not happy...til he meets her.
I reviewed the first episode and I realized that when she said to him “i want to live my own destiny”....he then says to his assistant “ i want to live my own destiny too” . She’s the key to his “cage” .
I liked that there were no stupid arguments and everything that did come up was resolved pretty quickly..
I liked that he was obvious that he liked her and they supported each other as time went on..
some episodes I literally just laughed out loud.
I’m watching Love like white jade , the long Ballad, Vincenzo & hold on my lady (also really cute 4 episodes )

She finds out in ep 11 or 12 and then she confesses to him who she is in 18 or19. I’m pretty sure bc she keeps saying I’m sorry and bowing . He goes to get the marriage license & while they are there she takes her (sisters) ID card and walks out with him and then confesses. He still loves her so he’s fine with it.

This is one of the cutest couples I’ve come across in a drama. I liked it so much just kept watching up to episode 20 ( episode 7-20 are un-subbed ) LOL :
I think I’ve pretty much figured out the story (for the most part..I’ll review again after they sub):) she is quirky funny resourceful adorable and perfect for the ML who definitely needs to loosen up a bit and have some fun. There were some really cute things they did together and honestly I think that’s missing from a lot of rom coms..I like to see the leads “ actually do fun things together other than go to work, dinner & stuff in the house)
I can honestly say it’s a healthy relationship and he treats her with respect (which honestly isn’t always how the ML usually behaves) ...
anyhoo ..not to give any spoilers.. if you’re on the fence give it a go this one is really cute and the chemistry is wonderful. ( Ahem. FYI...there is definitely some kissing .:) enjoy

I’m up to episode 4 and so far I like it, it’s a cute drama they have very good chemistry, I love her kookiness and although I have suspend my belief that she has “no idea” who he is, and the relationship is a bit quirky, he really seems to like her and I like how he looks after her.
I’m going to stay with it. I like the story line, the actors, the comedy, chemistry ..so far so good:)
