i know i will get flare for this comment. beforehad FL is beauriful and an amazing actress. that said: year 2010…
I agree - FL was ~22/23 in 2010 as she was apparentlyy a "new"member of the Korea handball team. ML was ~ 22/23 in 2010 because he was stucying for his teacher's certificate (so presumably had completed university/college).
Hae-yi was 5 years old in 2010 - so now 17 (current time in the show is 2022).
If at some point the series tells us the exact ages of the ML and FL, then I will revise my timelin. But not until then.
Since this show is produced is by Netflix TVN .. who gets to decide in casting ? Just curious…Usually Netflix…
Please accept this disagreement kindly.
The producer of Crash Course is Studio Dragon. TvN is - I believe - the funding mechanism and they are the "broadcaster" within/ Korea.
Netflix is a distributor - they pay $$$/won to tvn/Studio Dragon for the exclusive rights to stream on Netflix globally. They do not hire the cast or dictate the script. Netflix wants CONTENT - they want CONTENT that they can stream on their platform. Sometimes they actually fund production (it's called "Netflix original") but Crash Course is not on their list. of 'originals".
this will air after Arthodal chronicles.... late September or early October will be the release date
Maybe a bit earlier than September. Looks like Pandora is next (March 11 start - 16 episodes); Tale of the Nine-Tailed (May 6 start? - 12 episodes); Arthdal (June 17 start? - 12 episodes) and then Uncanny Counter 2 - start date perhaps (???) July 29. All tentative - UC2 is still filming.
I don't think the FL is too old for the role overall. It's completely believable that the ML and FL are attracted…
In Korea, the average age of first time mothers is 30. Since Hae-yi is 17 years old and NHS is ~ 35, then she would have been 17/18 when Hae-yi was born. So, not too young physically, but VERY young in Korea.
I am really curious to see if Hae E real mom will show up in the show and come to the rescue to clear the air…
My wacky/crazy theory is that Nan Haeng-ja (Hae-yi's mom) is somehow connected to hockey boy. When she abandoned Hae=yi, she appeared to be nicely dressed and well-coifed. Grandmother said they had not heard from her in years - they didn't even know about Hae-yi, who was 5 years old at the time. I think we will see her eventually, but I don't want her to come to the rescue.
Ok alright, after so many months trying to escape this show I'm finally on this page. I'm considering to start…
Fantasy is not my preferred genre so the only reason I gave this a try is because of Jung So Min. She was outstanding in Part 1 - creating a unique character (the soul of a powerful mage assassin who loses her powers when her soul is trapped in the body of a weak woman). I continued to watch Part 1 because the plot was coherent, there were a wide range of characters who had their own stories/romances and the world of Daeho was fascinating. Awesome cinematography and CGI.
Part 2's FL was the same "soul", but her personality/character were very different from Part 1 (spoiler: amnesia). The plot was all over the place, my favorite characters were side-lined in order to focus totally on the main couple. I ended up Fast forwarding through much of Part 2.
From my standpoint, changing the FL actress didn't impact my watching experience - it was the bad writing, nonsensical explanations for certain events, and the almost 100% focus on the romance in Part 2.
If you enjoy JSM, then watch Part 1 for a few episodes to see if the overall plot/characters are of interest.
I was struggling with why Eun Beom would go back to Ha Ra given how epically he ran away from their marriage.…
I tried watching the show earlier when first released, but decided to wait a few weeks to see if the story would gain momentum. Last night I got up to Ep. 7 and now I have this sinking feeling that FL is going to end up pregnant. Just too many references to her overwhelming desire to be a mother (I can relate) and his fear or being tied to a family. And it would explain the purpose of that off-screen sex (with the SML) w/out even an advance kiss. If this is going to be a Who Is The Daddy story, I'm not interested.
i hope jeon do yeon plays a 20 yr old in her next project just to piss y'all off
Her next project is "Kill Bok Soon", a Netflix movie that will be released in a few weeks. She plays a contract killer with a young *teen) daughter. In the trailer she looks stunning - around 35 years old at most. Same as Crash Course.
Cannot pinpoint it exactly but the last two episodes annoyed me a bit. Maybe because they were draggin out the…
The "Moms" were the usual annoying plot device required to provide conflct and tension. I didn't mind them too much.
I guess I prefer light-hearted romances rather than bittersweet. I wasn't feeling it this weekend but i'm glad others are happy.
With 6 episodes to go, I think there's big makjang moment(s) coming and not just with the killer's reveal. I posted earlier that I've learned that there is usually a reason when the background /history of a character is unknown. And when the writers intentionally leave TWO possible characters (Nam Haeng-ji/Hae-yi's mom AND Geon-hu's mother) hidden from view, my analytical brain goes into overdrive.
The biggest regret of my life at this point is deciding to watch this drama ongoing. How am i supposed to wait…
From the outside, it appeared that Haeng Seon was attacking Chi-yeol. thus, like the other attacks, it appears the shooter is trying to protect Chi-yeol.
If Geon Hu and HaeYi turn out to be siblings I'd go crazy
The scenario in my crazy little theory is that they might be step-siblings. Maybe Haeng-ja had a chance to marry someone rich and he already had a son, but he didn't want to take care of step-daughter? I definitely would not like the twin or any other brother/sister relationship - just too makjang but then this series is already approaching that territory.
I've only watched k-dramas for a year, but I've learned that there is usually a reason when the background /history of a character is unknown. And when the writers intentionally leave TWO possible characters (Haeng-ji and Geon-hu's mother) hidden from view, my analytical brain goes into overdrive.
Has Jang Seo-jin (attorney mom and Sun-jae's mom) ever met Ji Dong-hee?? If he's the brother of the girl who committed suicide 10 years ago, then I wonder if Seo-jin is the attorney who won his appeal??? If so, would he recognize her?
My other crazy theory involves Nan Haeng-ja - Hae-yi's birth mother. When she abandoned her, we only got a brief glimpse of mom, but she looked well-dressed and polished - she didn't look down on her luck. Apparently her family knew zero about where she had been, who she had been with - they didn't even realize that she had a 5 year old daughter.
Can't help but wonder if her disappearance is somehow connected to Geon-hu, especially since his mother hasn't been seen or heard from yet.
However, calling people "shitty" because they have a different opinion is rather. . . . .un-productive and definitely unpersuasive.
