This morning I hauled myself out of bed at 5:00 am to watch the live feed on tvn because I knew Ep. 16 (this show is in 4-episode blocks) would be epic. In past episodes, I didn't understand much of the conversation but loved the cinematography and world-building.
Today - because the actors are SOOOOOO good, I understood a great deal simply by watching their gestures and facial expressions.
First, Dang-gu and Cho-yeon - Words not required. it was clear what was happening. Protecting Cho-yeon from Mom. Sign this or else. Maidservent Kim to the rescue. Young love - they were darling.
Jin Sisters - I was smiling the whole time because it was obvious what Cho-yeon and Mu-deok were saying. Cho-yeon finally has a friend who she can talk to honestly. I will cry when she realizes that Mu-deok is really her sister - I just hope we don't have to wait for Episode 20 (or 28!) for it to happen.
The Three "Brothers" - didn't understand the words but Their Bond is so strong. None of them have siblings (as far as we know). They've grown up together with no family surrounding them.
If you want to do something in the next two weeks for fun - try watching with these scenes on mute. Great acting by everyone.
I hate it as well - I want to see Jung So Min play real JBY for just a couple of episodes - that's all I ask.…
I was equally confused. End game for them is clearly control of Jinyowon. I think they don't realize a big error in their calculations - they believe that So-i opened the door because of the blood. But smart viewers otherwise. It. Is. All. About. The Soul.
It's the Jin woman's SOUL that opens the door, not the blood.
Which gets us back to the amazing soul of JBY. 😂😂😂
That whole missing daughter bollywood style drama starts to really piss me off, tbh. The way they're dragging…
I hate it as well - I want to see Jung So Min play real JBY for just a couple of episodes - that's all I ask. Sooner or later, Jin Mu is going to figure out that JBY 's soul is alive and well in Mu-deok's body and I swear that if Jin Mu shifts JBY into So-i's body and leaves Naksu in JBY's body I am going stop at that point. And why the heck isn't JBY SENSING that her mom is in danger?
Re: Bu-yeon - she is end game with the ice stone. But I'm not watching if it is in So-i's body.
What I don't understand is, Buyeon seems to be so powerful and she wants to protect everyone but why did she just…
The Jin family crest also began to shine BEHIND Mu-deok and Cho-yeon. I think when Bu-yeon enters Jinyowon or touches a Jin artifact, her amazing sensory capabilities react spontaneously.
I was just reviewing my notes from when I wrote up some stuff about various religions/mysticism/shamanism/etc…
"A really powerful priestess can control people's souls and trap them to be helpless" "Trap a soul?" "Yes - if the priestess traps their powers even the most powerful mage is helpless. "
It would explain why Master Lee only sees one great soul that will "protect" Jang Uk. But it doesn't explain why Jin Bu-yeon stays dormant.
What Cho-Yeon said about Jin clan priestesses - that they can trap souls and block mages souls' powers. Did Bu-Yeon…
I was just reviewing my notes from when I wrote up some stuff about various religions/mysticism/shamanism/etc on the topic of souls. And looks like AoS has come up with a new one. Maye should be a spoiler topic. I'm going to post more below.
I think the writers want to show the audience Soyi is not all that bad. They want us to pity her, seeing how she's…
Soy-i is rotten to the core. She saw what Jin Mu did to the two women who were on the boat with her and she knew what would happen to anyone else that she named - she certainly did not need to name the two guards! Heck, she put that little boy with the umbrella at risk. The actress is great - quite a change from the character she played in Business Proposal. But So-i must die for her sins.
Judging by how they deliberately slowed the pace and beat around the bush with revelations viewers already figured…
Here on MDL we figured out things long ago. But I was just reading someone's post on the Reddit forum and they are just now realizing that Mu-deok is the missing daughter!
A week ago, someone else asked the question along the lines of: "who is Jin Bu-yeon? I've been focused on the romance and don't know why she's important"
Lesson for me is that most viewers (and there are millions) do not overthink this stuff - they need to be led by the hand. And the answer(s) better be easily understood or they might not return for Season 2. That could be the reason for the two-week hiatus.

And the sister scenes - very special.
