New character in Ep. 4: Lee Cheol (Teacher Lee) Master 'Hemp' Lee . He is a mysterious figure who is good at magic, and is called Master ‘Hemp’ Lee because he wears only hemp cloth all year round.

She's his granddaughter - and she's a physician as well. So, she's some sort of a cousin of Seo Yul - just not clear how distant.

She seemed very eager to make sure that sword gets into the Palace!

Last week, a couple of us posted descriptions of locations and characters in the "Recent Discussion" part of this page (see above the "Comments" section). I don't think there are meaningful "translations" per se. Here's a quick summary of the major locations:

* Songrim - A small city-like living community was formed around the head of Songrim. In Songrim, *Jeongjingak, the largest educational institution, and *Sejukwon, a medical institution, are located.
*Cheonbugwan - a royal agency that examines and records celestial events,
*Jinyowon Inside Jinyowon, which is secretly located in the Jin family, items with mysterious power are stored.

There were three "couples" promoted before the premiere of Ep. 1 and Park Jin and Do Ju were one of them. I hope we get to see lots of them going forward. 😍😍

Many have tried but few have mastered it? Perhaps Heo Yeom is only aware of 2 individuals - and they thought the last one was "20 years prior".
Is there a difference between soul shifting and soul "devouring"??? I think so, but at this point, I'm thinking I'm going to do a major re-watch this coming week and start documenting everything said on this topic. I believe Jin Mu absconded with some sort of device that Jang Kang created and he is using that??? But, it doesn't explain Naksu's ability. So many questions!

Good catch and it works out time wise. It doesn't explain why the four mage families were there though - so I think it was all Jin Mu's plot to hide the fact that there may be a future king out there. There are times when I wonder if Jin Mu has "planted" certain memories into Naksu's head - that is, perhaps the four Mage families were not really there.

I cannot keep up with all the clues and hints that were sprinkled throughout Ep. 3 and 4. I'm going to start writing them all down by category. Maybe (1) the science of soul shifting/devouring; (2) the four levels of energy and what they represent; (3) Jin family artifacts (that bracelet is in the title sequence - with an extra charm). If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Jang Gang wasn't able to master it. I think the 2nd person is: Lee Cheol , the man who removed the dog spirit and is searching for soul shifters. He appeared IMMEDIATELY after Heo Yeom mentioned the "second person".

That makes more sense. Maybe we'll find out more when they update the character list for Ep. 3&4.

Agree. She is losing some of her Naksu-ness - a little bit at a time.

The oldest daughter didn't die - she "is missing", according to the tVN character page.

As with all epics involving a protagonist with a "twisted fate" (evil spell, illegitimate, unknown parents, etc), Jang Uk is going to be facing the dark side at some point. After all, if he doesn't learn to control the energy, he may go mad. Anakin Skywalker went there - Luke Skywalker did not. I think he was born with Jang Kang's power, not the Old King's power (did he even have any?).

I think Naksu is determined to train him so that she can absorb his energy (or whatever the process might be) - she's still thinking only of herself.

Since Jin Cho-yeon's "sister" was mentioned in Ep. 3, I am reposting information on the Jin family (I tagged it "spoiler" last week because the character had not been introduced in the show yet). This information is from official web sites (tVN and Han Cinema). I have ALL CAPPED the parts I find intriguing. Any theories or dialogue from the show should be tagged spoiler.

JIN HO-KYUNG - Jinyowon director, the head of the Jin family, who continues to inherit the maternal line. Behind her powerful charisma, she has affection for her eldest daughter, WHOM SHE LOST when she was young. A FIRST-TIME mother. Half-sister to Jin Moo.

JIN WOO-TAK - Jin Ho-kyung's husband, he entered the Jin family as a son-in-law and received Jin's surname. He's LOOKING FOR his lost daughter.

JIN CHO-YEON - She is Daeho celebrity and the youngest daughter of the Jin family, who looks colorful and dignified, but is a child-like naivete. Ho-kyung's and Woo-tak’s daughter

I thought he was one of the palace "eunuchs", but in Ep. 4, the servant called him "my lord" which implies he is part of the royal family.
