I wasn't happy with the open ending - yes it means that a Season 2 is possible but very improbable with this stellar cast and their other commitments.

Not "corrupt" in terms of financial corruption or fixing trials, but perhaps in terms of police enforcement. Rather disappointing actually.

I started to watch "Our Universe" as a distraction from the mess that "The Judge Returns" has become and lo and behold, the casual, flippant ML in this drama portrayed an evil serial killer in Judge Returns.

And yes, I know that others probably mentioned this earlier when Our Universe first began to air, but it's new info to me and I find it amusing. 😊😊 So far, I'm enjoying it and glad to see it's only 12 episodes long.

GRRRR. . .she just wanted to be loved and appreciated by someone, but history repeated itself once again as Han-young used her for his own purpose, this time for revenge.

The real ugly part of this is that the character is 180degrees opposite of the webtoon. Not sure why the writer chose to depart so strongly on her character. All of the other characters were fairly consistent although the violence/death toll was on a totally different level in the drama.

Meanwhile, the only good thing about the pre-release is that it demonstrates that Oh Se Young is a very versatile actress. Spoiler below.

I thought they used the bloody gauze to swab the wound of one of the dead guys and the glass rim? The news reporter also announced something about the forensics. So, I think she handed it over. What does NOT make sense is that the police were coming after him BEFORE they had the gauze in hand

From the beginning of the drama, Han-young has believed /feared all along that Yoo Se-hui was going to betray him - that's why he kept her at a distance. He didn't want her to meet his folks. Every time he remembers "their past", it has been negative. And that allowed him to justify using her for his plans. He felt no remorse for using her.

However, this time she warned him. ("I'm sorry").

Have faith that the writer/director/MBC know what their viewers want - they've been pushing this couple non-stop.

It's floundering - but MBC/director knows what the viewers want and I don't think they'll disappoint us. What better way to ensure that viewers watch final episode????

Well, that's my point. "History" is repeating itself. But Han-young has also been able to revise history. He's been expecting this - and this time she gave him a warning.

History has been repeating itself for the last several episodes - it's just been happening much faster than before. Her family likely forced her to betray him previously - but this time she might redeem herself.

I learned long ago that MDL ratings are pretty meaningless. The main thing that counts - for a kdrama - is ratings in Korea. And The Judge Returns is absolutely killing it.

If you are a fan of Yoo Se-Hui and Han-young, then this pre-release is for you. 😘😘😘😘Se-hui visits Han-young in the hospital and. . . . . . I've already watched 10 times.

Description of pre-release

At Madame's restaurant, Apparently, serial killer Kwak Sun-won survived his injuries, although he almost died (?). Kang Sin-jin believes Kim Jin-han betrayed him and Kwak kills him!!!. Then KSJ encourages Kwak to kill Han-young.

In past weeks, the pre-release usually featured lovely scenes between Han-young and Se-hui. However, as we head into the final weekend, the pre-release scene is much darker with a major spoiler/twist. Here is the link but I’ve put the description below under spoiler tag.

The past weekend was the worst.

Preview for Ep. 11 (at end of Ep. 10) showed attack on Jin-ah
Episode 11 - attack on Jin-ah occurred in the very last scene
Episode 12 - attack finally occurred about 3/4 mark.

Since Episodes 13 and 14 are each 10 minutes longer than usual, I think the last scene in Ep. 12 will not be seen until well into Ep. 13.

As of Ep. 12, there is a very slow-burn *potential* romance that is charming to most viewers but it's definite sub-plot to the major story of revenge and battle against evil/corruption.

Episodes 13 and 14 will be 10 minutes longer than the usual. So, 75 minutes each - which hardly seems like enough but hopefully it means that the ending will not be a total rushed mess.

As I said, Seo Ji Hoon is one of my favorite actors and the only reason I started a "melodrama". I enjoyed the pairing of the 2nd Couple (Kim Seok Ju and Mo Tae Rin). But they had very little screen time compared to the main couple that I found boring. If you like melo and the two main leads, it may be for you but I rated it low.
