LND nation it's romcom I don't think we'll get a sad ending but last thing I have to say about these stupid terminal…
Spontaneous nosebleeds are a common trope in Korean dramas. I remember when I first began watching kdramas, it seemed that they all had at least one nosebleed scene which was deemed to be stress-related but allowed the other person to come to their aid in a moment of tenderness.
Reading the comments about when the two main characters will kiss is a testament to the unpredictability of this…
Oh, let us have our fun. We don't "know" anything - just having fun with predictions/wild guesses. Nothing serious. I'm sorry if you are upset - but not going to stop having fun.
So here is my theory about her 1 year break and I am asking you to prove me wrong, bc I really hate it myself,…
Well, can't prove you wrong but if. . . BIG if. . . she has some sort of illness/disease/chronic condition, then rest assured There Is A Reason why Seung-hyo's father is a brilliant doctor/professor of emergency medicine.
Writer-nim is giving us a story where each character's history/story is interwoven with the other people in the neighborhood. There is a reason why Choi Gyeong Jong (ML's Dad) is a doctor. Not a lawyer or head of some conglomerate or TV personality - all worthy careers, but not what might be required when one of the characters (perhaps Seok-ryu???) becomes ill.
So now the watch begins for the episode preview where he's wearing a casual blue shirt and she's wearing pink…
The difference is that this poster has a title: "Romance". On the other hand, perhaps we will never see these outfits. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Prior posters were titled "chinchin" (and I have no idea what that means) but the WORDS were:
(Seung Hyo) "You are my. . . (Seok-ryu) "I am your. . . . . . "living black history" (fuzzy translation, but the theme of "black history" seems to be an element of this drama.
I know a very young man (<30 years old) who worked for a tech company in San Franciso (I forget which one) and he got a 6 month sabbatical and he hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. I live in Microsoft Lala land and in the early years, employees who worked long hours/sacrificed for years and received sabbaticals. I also know many attorneys (partners) at major law firms who receive 1 year sabbaticals - some choose to teach, some choose to write a book, some choose to take their family overseas for a year. It's simply a possibility, altho doesn't really fit with the negative vibes implied by Chris.
Just one more "gap" in the story that we need to watch and wait to be filled. 😊
I don't remember them all, but frequently one of them grabs the other to make someone else jealous. Or, sometimes the couple if pretending to date, but must prove it for show.
I could easily see Seok-ryu grabbing Seong-hyo for a pretend kiss in front of her ex-boyfriend .
What did it mean: can anyone explainWhen seung hyo had this flashback of his mom leaving home in a car with her…
This is their story:
Mom and Dad (both very hard-working/ambitious) got married right before Mom was assigned to the Korean consulate/embassy in Paris. 3 months after she got there, she found out she was pregnant. Seung-hyo was born in Paris and lived with his mother for a few (3?) years. At some point, Mom brought him back to Korea to be raised by Dad. Dad loves his son very much (this is spelled out on the tvN site) but like many Korean's, believes it is a sign of weakness to show too much emotion. He apparently traveled to Paris for summer vacation and/or she returned to Korea awaiting her next diplomatic assignment (Tunisia was mentioned).
In that scene, Mom was returning to Paris and leaving him behind and that's why he was crying.
As for an "affair", after the Lavender Gals had their latest get-together, Mom is now worried that Dad is the one having an affair! 🤣🤣🤣
An entire year for. . . a miscarriage? Medically, it makes no sense so then it could only mean some sort of psychological need to take a leave.
Chris implied it was something "negative" but perhaps it was for a positive reason, like the company sent her to University for a Masters degree? Or, as in many US tech companies, she had earned a sabbatical after 5 years. Perhaps she was in a very bad accident (not my favorite because it means she never told her family).
I have predictions about how certain stories will develop, but no theories about that one year sabbatical.
Why doesn't the FL start a YouTube (or equivalent) channel with her cooking videos? She could be raking in the…
Check back in Episode 11 or 12, lol.
1. Getting her chef certificate will give her more cred than being an amateur. 2. Her dream isn't to "rake in the ad revenue", it's to follow Seung'-hyo's example: do to what she loves in a way that she will be able to support herself.
Of course, as I said - toward the end of the drama she will definitely embark on some sort of plan that will be fabulously successful. And then there will be some sort of crisis (business? medical?. Family/neighborhood join together and save the day.
He thinks she is still in love with her former fiancée. He's tried to be a good friend, but supporting her as…
Which is one reason why the ex MUST appear sooner or later. He will be the catalyst for unraveling the messy tapestry of their (SK and SR) relationship.
Noone knows that the ex cheated on Seok-ryu, so it's perfectly reasonable for Seung-hyo to believe she still loves the ex. We, the viewer, know differently so that's why we, the viewer, believe that the scene with the wedding dress on the i-phone is misleading.
BROOOOO WTF WAS THE ENDING TO EPISODE 6 ?! why is seung hyo so confusing 😭 he likes her but he’s so rude.…
He thinks she is still in love with her former fiancée. He's tried to be a good friend, but supporting her as she continues to love someone else is a bridge too far for him. That's how I interpret it - perhaps because that's how I would feel in a similar situation.
I like the actress but I don't think the character will last very long...
I thought she would only be on for one episode, two at most - sort of a catalyst for Seok-ryu to get jealous and Which worked for the plot this weekend. But now? was her friendliness towards Seok-ryu a sham? If she's still carrying a torch for Seong-hyo, she won't be exiting quickly. 😟
I'm calling it now, the guy she was supposed to marry is gonna show up all of a sudden in a later episode and…
Hah, very perceptive and join the crowd. He's Korean, he's an "international lawyer" - yeah, he's going to show up as part of the Grape/Griep contract and OF COURSE, at the precise moment that Seung-kyo is about to confess/make his move with Seok-ryu. Can Not. Wait. This is why I love kdramas.

That's how it is promoted so uber-happy ending is a given (altho I'm a bit afraid of the health of the adults - but only a bit).

That's how tvN telegraphed different events in Queen of Tears, lol.
I could easily see Seok-ryu grabbing Seong-hyo for a pretend kiss in front of her ex-boyfriend .
But. . . I COULD be wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Classic, predictable, charming.
