Trivia and Tidbits - mostly about my favorite character Kim Seok Ju.
Item 1. During the press conference w/the director and four leads, the main couple was introduced as a "wistful past love" while Kim Seok Ju and Mo Tae Rin have a "spicy first love chemistry." [Yay for Team Seok Ju!]. The two will "gradually change from opposing chemistry" and they did a lot of back-to-back camera shots and then gradually shifted to closer side-by-side heart hands. So cute.
Item 2. Kim Seok Ju and his mother (Kim Pil Do] share same last name and that means in kdrama land that there was no father named on the birth certificate. [If there WAS a dad on the birth certificate, the writers would not have used the same surname] According to the JTBC website, she comes from a very wealthy family so keeping the child would have been easier.
Item 3. In case you missed it, in one scene last week, Kim Seok Ju returns home and picks up two notebooks from his old room. One of them said "Color Vision Kim Seok Ju". The topic involves color blindness - so Seok Ju might be color blind. Let's ee if there are any hints in future episodes.
Hoping MDL returns to discussion of the drama tomorrow!
According to the JTBC website, they met decades ago in a rural village where he lived and she was visiting. She…
The answer is also on the JTBC web site, but it's a bit of major spoiler although Sunwoo Hae made a vague reference to it in . Anyway, she apparently died at some point.
A little bit confused about his step-mother. Why she want to get married to his father?
According to the JTBC website, they met decades ago in a rural village where he lived and she was visiting. She fell in love with him, but by the time she visited again, he was married with a son about to be born. [AI translation can be tricky but I think this is correct interpretation].
Not enough Lee Joo Myung OR Seo Ji Hoon in either episode. I'm hoping that since they have provided at least 75% of the back story for the main couple, that this weekend will provide much more for the 2nd couple. We know that Tae Rin's first love was Seok Ju, but we have ZERO idea if Seok Ju had any feelings for Tae Rin or . . maybe Je yeon (GAWD, I hope not).
Park Min Young seems to have a good physique in this drama. I mean she reduced her weight for marry my husband…
She was very thin in "Love in Contract" - and then lost even more for the earliest scenes in Marry My Husband. She eventually gained weight for Marry My Husband scenes when she did not have cancer - still very thin.
what tf is the ending of episode 2? has anyone watched the original
Epilogue in KR version is totally new (at least for the 1st 2 episodes).
I watched the first handful of episodes from the Japan original, but couldn't stand the actress. PMY's portrayal has a bit more sweetness, dare I say "innocence" than JP version.
I don't like this actress, is the plot any good at least?
I really like Park Min Young and I like her in this role. However, having said that, if I didn't like the drama/plot, I wouldn't watch. (I gave up on Forecasting Weather and her other melodrama). Fortunately, writing/directing is good and looks like there will be a villain of the week. I really enjoyed it. Plus Oh Na-ra will play a villain in an upcoming episode. π
Did you accidentally click the English dubbed version? Usually Prime has both so I make sure to click the one…
I never click on "English dub" - it just automatically came up that way on the television. But when I went into my Amazon prime on my laptop, I could change the settings and then all was well on the [big screen] TV. I really hated hearing the audio in a voice that clearly was not Park Min Young. Hopefully it's fixed going forward.
Certainly the teen versions are very similar in looks. I posted below - based on the character description of the father, it's possible they are half-brothers.
Loved all of it. Will be getting up early Sunday morning (my time) to watch Ep. 2
But. . . .Amazon Prime is the pits. I tried watching on my smart tv and the voice (audio) was in ENGLISH and definitely not Park Min Young's voice. No matter what I tried, couldn't get Korean Audio (my personal preference) until I went onto my laptop and signed into my Amazon account and then - and only then - could re-set the audio/subs.
IMO, this is better than the Japanese version but I forgive the J-drama a bit since it was released during a time when asian dramas were peak slapstick/screaming. Love PMY and the team and CANNOT WAIT for the episode when Oh Na-ra is the baddie.
This drama is exactly what the synopsis indicates. Slow drama watchers will like it and others will complain it…
I read the JTBC character description of the father - there is a lot more to his backstory than what we have seen thus far and it looks like the little girl is not his daughter or even step-daughter (AI translating Korean to English is always tricky). And I wouldn't be surprised if the two guys end up being half-brothers, not step-brothers.
First episode is so underwhelming.... Pls tell me if the second episode gets better and worth watching?A lot of…
I fell sleep while watching Ep. 1 and woke up about 10 minutes into Ep. 2. Had to re-wind.
Way too many long, drawn-out scenes with no dialogue. I'm watching because of Seo Ji Hoon (like you are watching for Song Joong Ki) and far more interested in the "new" romance of his character and Tae-rin, but then I've never been a fan of "old" romance reborn.
Loved that episode two was mostly a flashback to flesh out the characters and their relationship, but that amusement…
I'm not sure he is her father. My impression is that he was living with (not married or even engaged) the girl's mother and the mother abandoned the child. But I thought the explanation of relationships was very poor - perhaps Korean understood quickly (based on the use or non-use of honorifics), but the writer could have done a better job of inserting dialogue that would help clarify.
I'm here because of Seo Ji Hoon (ML#2) but very disappointed he was barely on screen thus far and virtually no explanation of his(or Tae Rin's) back-story.
the plot is interesting, but I find it too slow paced and I donβt feel the chemistry between the 2 leads.
Truly one of the most boring dramas I have every watched. Would be dumping it if not for the 2nd couple - their background/history is far more intriguing.
