There is ZERO doubt in my mind that Eun Seong will "push the boundaries" , try to replicate Hyon-woo and Hae-in will be smart enough (cynical enough) to at least keep her powder dry.

I really, truly don't like the "total memory loss" angle and somewhat hopeful that it's partial memory loss and that her subliminal memories will help her sort through truth and lies.

After that ugliest, cruelest pre-release, I need an antidote. So, refresher regarding memories that are NOT associated with the hippocampus:

"Between the emotional memories, implicit memories and subconscious memories stored here and there within her brain, she will remember those that loved her. And those she loved."

I think (hope) that Eun Seong will read her notebook and believe that he can try to replicate some of her memories with Hyun-woo. BAD mistake - I think he will overplay his hand. Anyway, what subliminal memories might help Hae-in remember the people who loved her and the people she loved???

* The number "1031" - she has punched that number on her cell phone every single day - repeatedly. It's an implicit memory.
* The hair dryer? did she write in her notebook how happy she was when he was drying her hair. And then Eun-Snake tries it - but it's not the same?
* Her so-called favorite wine? - that might bring up a revolting emotion.
* The smell of lavender?

Definitely one of the cruelest pre-releases.😥😥😥 I hope this is a very early scene and I hope other scenes from the teaser/preview (such as Hyun-woo in court wearing his lawyer pin0 will not be held over to Ep. 16.

They have very, very different agendas.

Mom has been plotting for "thirty" years to take away all the Queens empire/chaebol life (not just the business) from the family. We don't know why she chose the Hong family, but she says it's how she demonstrates her love for her son.

However, his only goal was to control Queens Group (the corporate business).The reason Eun Seong wanted to control Queens Group was to be close to Hae-in and/or control Hae-in. All he cares about is Hae-in - he doesn't care about the house or any other assets. He didn't want the family kicked out "yet".

Ultimately, they will destroy each other - it's now just a matter of which one will be destroyed first.

Kim Soo Hyun said that QoT was "part fantasy, part romance, part thriller", but I don't think your specific wish for Hae-in fits into that description. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Glad to be helpful. 😊 After Episode 2 (specifically, when Hyun-woo killed the boar - what an epic moment that was😎😍😎), I knew that I was hooked for the long haul and I pulled out my kdrama notebook and began to take notes. I have pages and pages of notes on each episode - the flashback scenes, the Epilogues, dialogue that seemed meaningless but might be foreshadowing. I still believe Uncle Beom seok is the key to whatever happened years ago with Mad Moh (and possibly her son). because I am certain that he was there when the dog attacked Hae-in. If THAT ever shows up on Tik-tok/Twitter than I know they are reading MDL. 😊

Except for a handful of issues with the time line (dates in May/June), I don't understand why people think there are plot holes.

I have a different saying. If everyone felt the same way or watched a drama - any drama - with the exact same "vision/filter", it would be a very, very boring world. I mean, who wants to think exactly like everyone else????

I am fascinated by your take (symbolizing that she will forget him) - which is different than mine (he will not be there to greet her because she will live) - but no less valid. As I have learned from your posts - so many different interpretations with the flashbacks, the Epilogues, the "visions" and all of them relatable to the various viewers.

And "they" say the writers are awful. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hae-in prayed “Please let me cherish these memories [of loving others and being loved] until my last breath.” Hyun-woo’s prayers were answered and I’m sure writer-nim will do the same for Hae-in. Otherwise, that scene with her writing her prayer would be meaningless. I did the research so that you don’t have to. You are welcome.

4. Neocortex: language; general knowledge (example: knowing that coffee provides an energy boost).
IMPORTANT: the brain’s ability to recognize faces is a function of many parts. That’s why it’s easier to recall faces than names. I guess this helps explain why Eun-seong is making the effort to resemble Hyun-woo
B. Implicit Memory: skills and habits without conscious effort (Example: Hae-in stroking her ring finger)
C. Subconscious: acts as a “storage” bank for memories, experiences, general thoughts and associations, emotional responses, sensory (example: perfume) triggering a memory or emotional response
Between the emotional memories, implicit memories and subconscious memories stored here and there within her brain, she will remember those that loved her. And those she loved.
I would like more explicit memory recall (events, dates, etc) but writer has different ideas. 😊

Well, I never bashed - I've enjoyed it all and I've caught a lot of hints and foreshadowing from the early episodes. There's been a lively dialogue in the "prediction" topic forum - maybe the Tik-toker's are reading MDL? 😊😊

For weeks, many said "I don't care how they do it, but Hae-in must live".

Now she's going to live and now it's - this is a piece of s**t writing because we didn't want Eun Seong to be there or for her to lose her memory or. . . . . 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

How many episodes did he watch? It's very emotional (Queen of TEARS). and romantic. The cinematography is beautiful and the music should be considered part of the cast.

If that was 100% of the drama, I would have dropped long ago. But there's a great mix of black comedy/family comedy; scheming villains who - for a change in kdrama tropes - are not part of the family; amusing Epilogues in each episode. The story(ies) are still holding up after 14 episodes - what seemed like a throw-away line in an early episode becomes meaningful later on.

Only you can judge but there's a reason why the viewer ratings in Korea are smashing prior records.

I think her first reaction was that he was reassuring her that he would be there to greet her when she passed. But then, he waved and turned - this came after she left her prayer card at the church I think? She was already wavering, this was another small nudge. Then the video with the two families. Hyun-woo at the car crash scene wasn't the only blow to her resolve - it was the final one.

Most viewers watch at a very top level - the music/cinematography/acting.

Below that is the writing and director - and you are correct - there is so much below that where the camera focuses for a moment (I just now realized why they focused on Hae-in's hands all the time), tiny hints of past relationships (Hyun-woo and Uncle Baek-seok), and of course the Epilogues that help explain a particular scene (or even past episodes such as the "cute drunk"). Takes a genius writer to lay it all out - although there are gaps in our knowledge (hopefully to be filled in the last weekend).

Her prayer was: "Please, let me cherish these memories [of loving others and being loved] until my last breath." Hyun-woo's prayers were answered and I'm confident hers will be as well. She may not remember all events and she may not have instant recall of faces/names but she will eventually remembers those she loved and those that loved her.

I'm not happy about losing all of her memories, but at least the writer warned us in advance - it wasn't something that unexpectantly happened after the surgery (which is the normal kdrama route of amnesia).

The memories going up in flames indicate that many of her memories may be gone. It all depends upon how much of the hippocampus was destroyed. I'm counting on several things: (1) the doctor indicated there would be damage to the hippocampus, but they couldn't predict how much memory would be lost. (2) Eun Seong left her alone with the doctor - perhaps for quite awhile. We may see a flashback of that conversation. (3) She prayed to God that she retain certain memories (of loving others and being loved) until her "last breath." Since Hyun-woos prayers were answered, I'm counting on God once again. 😊😊😊

She's still Hon Hae-in - the woman who was repulsed by Eun-seong time after time. He will once again push the boundaries that disgust her, whether she remembers the past or not. And at that point, if she's not already suspicious, she will play along.

I wonder if the drama will ever highlight the fact that Hyun-woo is left-handed? That's how viewers figured out (those that watched more closely than I did) that she mistook ES for Hyun-woo, but I was disappointed that SHE did not notice.

Maybe I rushed through Ep. 14 too quickly but did I miss how Eun Seong's hand got injured?

I know he cut it the night that Hae-in came for dinner, but that was several weeks ago Queen of Tears time.

He took a lot of photos (maybe even videos??) during their day together in the country. The rest of the time, they were in bed - Hyun Woo is not the type to make a sex tape. 🤣🤣🤣💕💕
