I really love this drama. The perfect mix of romance, comedy and "fantasy". And then I remember how much I enjoyed "My Royal Nemesis" for the same reasons until after Ep. 7, the raucous comedy disappeared, the romance stalled and the so-called fantasy was an inexplicable (who? what? why?) mess. Really hope this one nails the landing.

tvN released several sneak peaks this week. Here is the 1st one - Yeo-ri battling the murderer seen at the end of the Ep. 5 preview - and someone (we know who even if we don't see his face) rides to the rescue.

"Yeri, who gets into danger while trying to resolve a ghost's resentment
The familiar voice that echoes at that moment...?"

the fact that we're gonna have yeori and kangwook investigating together and also getting engaged soon is so funny…
It will be a "fake" engagement, but that is my all time favorite rom-com trope so I am seated. Setting my alarm for 6:30 am my time to watch Ep. 5 and I hope they are engaged by the end of 5.😊

I've never seen the ML before in anything and I adore him in this role. Different strokes for different folks makes the world more interesting. 😊

I agree that the "horror" tag isn't very appropriate. The ghosts that Yeo-ri sees are more along the lines of Casper the Friendly Ghost.

I love this, but the ghost design isn't frightening at all. Compared to the original Spellbound, it loses the…
In the press conference, they used the term "occult" rather than "horror". The ghosts that visit Yeo-ri (so far) are victims, not evil. The main leads said the drama is 50% romance, 30% comedy and 20% occult.

Which is fine with me - never wanted to watch Hotel Del Luna and I FF through the last 1/2 of Master's Sun. I'm here for the romance and thus far, it's one of my favorite rom/com in the last couple of years (can't wait for the fake engagement). At one point, My Royal Nemesis was near the top, but the story/plot fell apart mid-way and the romance couldn't save it. Hope Spooky Romance is different.

The worst outcome would be if this accident ends up having zero impact on the plot. Imagine waiting an entire…
The "impact' is on Yeo-ri because she will no longer push him away.

She thinks he died. He didn't, but he won't recover instantly and therefor we get a scene (hopefully mid Ep. 5) where he appears in front of her (alive) and if well written, viewer will cry along with Yeo-ri. I'm also hoping that "contract engagement" happens in Ep. 5.

I agree he won't have ability to see ghosts - that's why they will be a chaotic team. He's the investigator but her ability helps him.

Why would people think that Ma Ganguk is dead?Yeori looked so surprised she likely just realised that the 'ghost'…
I'm beginning to wonder if there is a difference between people who watch the show on their phones/tablet (small screen) vs TV/laptop (larger). So many small details unseen/missed.

Anyway, the shock/guilt is necessary for Yeo-ri to understand that she has been wrong in pushing Gang-uk away and move them to the next step in their relationship.

This is from the official tvN website so I don't consider it a spoiler.

Apparently, in order to save Seo-ri "from a difficult situation" our couple enters into a "contract engagement". I'm guessing the difficult situation is the rumors referenced in the Ep. 5 preview.

"contract" dating or engagement is one of my favorite kdrama tropes. Can't wait.😊

Episode 4's twist was Not on my bingo card for this drama, and I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out how…
Yeo-ri pushed Gang-uk away - told him to ignore her in the future.

Writer created a catalyst for Yeo-ri to realize that she was mistaken to push him away. Thus they will now finally team up in a "chaotic relationship" presumably to solve some of the old cold cases.

I'm not a fan of shock cliff-hangers, especially since the defibrillator is the obvious next step. And definitely not a fan of apparent "ghost" appearance which may depend upon shamanism or Ji-hwan as the explanation.

I understand why the very much alive ML isn't in the preview, but for heaven's sake, the plot/synopsis spells it all out:

An investigative occult romance drama about a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who TEAM UP in a chaotic partnership.

ML’s grandma has a twin or lookalike? ML is sure that he saw her in the jeju island.
Lots of hints that ML's family is wealthy. Grandma getting into a limousine. He lives in a gated home - not chaebol level, but definitely more than what a prosecuting attorney could afford on his own.

ML, FL, 2ML and Jihwan (ghost) are all the same age. Perhaps we will eventually find out that they had some connection during college years when Jihwan died (at age 20).

Ex/first love ’s ghost following around the protagonist and the ex’s twin being the villain and culprit behind…
Just one reason I hope it’s a red herring. Just too too obvious so early in the drama

Ji-hwan chased her fiancé away. But he hasn’t interfered with her relationship with the ML

Their meet-ups are clearly not accidental. Someone/something is bringing them together purposely.

Could be, although it seems a bit it seems a bit too obvious at this point. Eventually we will find out who was involved in that yachting accident - plenty of potential candidates.

If I'm not mistaken, the man in black who's haunting Yeo Ri is Min Hwan's brother... 😨 I saw the name and actor…
The character is Ji-hwan, so likely the brother. Ji-hwan is the ghost that attacked yeo-ri's fiancée in the elevator. He is in his "early 20's" I read somewhere that he is a water spirit/ghost.

Putting the pieces together from the official sites:

Cheon Yeo-ri's age is "around 30". Her "curse" began around 10 years ago after a "tragic yacht accident".

ML and Mi-hwan are also "around 30"

Wouldn't be surprised if: (1) ML was somehow connected to the yacht incident (2) Ji-hwan is somehow bringing the two together so that they can work together to find out who/what caused the accident and (3) bring the unknown culprit to justice.

I hope this drama doesn't go down the path of "My Royal Nemesis" which began as funny, a bit of fantasy, and great chemistry between the leads. . . .only to falter at the end with inexplicable plot holes/twists.
