I thought this drama would be all about how GP and Huiju help each other out post marriage but with the pace it is going it feels like the wedding would be the grand climax!
All of QM's taunts go over my head and I always space out once she begins. I have watched episodes 1-6 without skipping and yet unable to grasp exactly what this lady's problem is! She keeps on harping even when she knows that GP knows about late King's will. This drama has failed the viewers by trying to keep the intrigue at the cost of narrative. Halfway through, I am seriously irritated by this conspiracy track whenever it comes on. By now we should have at least had an inkling if not an understanding of what is going on with the palace politics.
Not bad so far but her character is sooooo unlikeable. Tired of her running around all pissy, constantly screaming…
GP, except for the fact that he's legitimate, almost had the same childhood as her. He was suppressed and sidelined for his brother. Suffered multiple losses in the family. Still suffers from PTSD. Yet his personality is completely different from her. Where she's loud, he's quiet. Where she's the chaos, he's the calm. Where she's immature, he's the mature one. Where she's rude, he's elegant. Where she's trying to destroy her brother, he's almost ready to die for his nephew. Altogether her character needs some whitewashing atp in the drama. I hope she has her character growth arc soon too. Loved her in the arrow scene. More of that please.
It's as if I knew she (Hwiju) wouldn't wear the dangui to the inner court banquet with the way she was looking…
I understand it's for the drama effect and all that but if anyone did that irl they would be disrespecting the host. It would have been nice if they had shown her being well mannered yet able to stand out. It doesn't sit well with me that she always ends up acting rude in order to be noticed. That's not called brave in my opinion, just uncouth. The arrow scene is where her strength shone bright. I need more of that Huiju.
Ep. 5: I did not like this episode. I think it was extremely rude of Heejoo (& ill-concept for drama to promote)…
I'm annoyed that I kinda agree with most of your points even though I love the show. May be it's coz I felt let down by today's episode. It felt underwhelming after the preview. I am even more irritated that I waited for that yacht scene that never arrived.
I especially agree with your point about huiju disrespecting the formal dresscode. If she had disliked it so much she could have skipped the banquet altogether rather than belittling the dignity and efforts of 20 other innocent bystander women. There is nothing wrong with following and respecting tradition which is not harming anyone. A dresscode hardly harmed anyone. Huiju wants the status of a royal yet tries to undermine and humiliate the same royalty to show that she's unique. Hardly! She frankly didn't have a leg to stand in UNTIL the Prince arrived.
Today I loved Huiju the best in that scene where she aims an arrow at his beloved cat. She gave the strong woman vibe there. Unlike flouting dresscode of a formal event or wearing a red gown at a black tie event. Oh, I forgot. She already did that in the 1st episode!
She is trying to find dirt on ML in order to destroy his reputation and/or find leverage to control him. It actually…
I don't think the drama ever cleared it. Yi An seems totally disinclined towards his palace duties. No one has ever mentioned that he wants to be the heir. It seems like it is a conspiracy theory totally in the mind of Queen and her father.
she definitely has an obsession on him either because he's a threat or my theory that they have a past (ðŸ˜ðŸ˜)
The way she was going bonkers and grilling her aide whether our CP seemed genuine also gave the same energy. She seems more worried whether he has actually fallen for someone. They also mentioned earlier on that until now she was AGAINST his marriage but she's trying to force him into a marriage with a woman of her choice (Probably someone Yi An would NEVER fall for).
I hope someone clears my doubt. Was the woman queen was pushing onto Yi An the same one who was mocking Huiju's Sister in law? Their names were kinda similar I think. Kim Jagyeong or something.

I hope tomorrow's episode can get my spirits up.
