i was actually super surprised when the drunk character wasn't taken advantage of, and when a character stopped immediately when told to. basic decency shouldn't be so rare in BL, but alas...
its been about a year since i watched this and i still cant tell who the "gay mafia" were supposed to be...or even what it was about beyond sex, violence, and drugs
message of the entire show: parents bad, corrupt institution good
needed less characters, less redemption arcs for people who've done despicable things and faced no consequences, less shoehorned vomit-inducing romance, less episodes, and more focus on the plot.
5 episodes in and i can't seem to get any further cause the main couple don't interest me at all. i'm so bored. heart & liming are adorable though. is it worth suffering through the rest of the episodes for them?
some people like the idea of an age gap and what it adds to the storytelling? 🤷♀️
i understand that. but as a writer myself, i believe writers have a responsibility to make it clear when a relationship is toxic or problematic, rather than treating it as if it's normal or desirable. i don't have any problems with problematic relationships in media when they're explicitly portrayed as problematic. i'm hoping this series will make it clear that such an age gap is dodgy at best, but that's probably wishful thinking.

i've been waiting years
