i understand that. but as a writer myself, i believe writers have a responsibility to make it clear when a relationship is toxic or problematic, rather than treating it as if it's normal or desirable. i don't have any problems with problematic relationships in media when they're explicitly portrayed as problematic. i'm hoping this series will make it clear that such an age gap is dodgy at best, but that's probably wishful thinking.

yeah it might be "just a story" but consuming these kinds of stories when i was a 10-12 year old kid made me believe this sort of stuff, i.e. someone who is well into their 20s/30s in a romantic/sexual relationship with a teen, was normal and totally fine. no one told me otherwise. then when i got preyed on by a dude in his 20s when i was 11-16, i didn't think much of it cause it'd been so normalised and glamourised in the things i read/watched.
