Pls can you tell me where I can watch all the episodes with English subtitles? I have only been seeing few episodes…
Sorry. Not all episodes are out yet for English sub. It’s just up to 16 at this time and you can watch it in YouTube. English sub comes out 1 ep each on Thurs and Friday. And 2 eps on Saturday. So this week, ep 17-20 will be out. All are in YoYo channel. The rest of the episodes are out but only in Chinese. And you have to have a VVIP subscription in Youku to be able to avail of it. Lmao I’m the exact opposite, I enjoyed the second half of the drama much better than the first. I felt like…
Lol. Cool. Agree to disagree on which is better - first or second half. :) And I wholeheartedly agree about HYW. And I also hate the cousin and aunt. Gosh, if I have them as my relatives, I'll just move to a different country so I'll have zero interaction with them. lol.
Nothing special. Has all the typical trope of a Cdrama - rich and cold outside/warm inside ML, poor but kind FL, evil relatives, revenge, childhood trauma, etc. Also typical with Cdrama - soooo good first half (in this case until 18th episode) , but then it gets draggy second half and the ending felt rushed. I’ve only stuck around until the end because of the OTP. They’re so sweet together. And XYL is so handsome that seeing him in every scene is worth finishing the drama (I just skipped a lot of scenes that doesn’t have him and/or LJ in it. Lol.)
I smell trouble brewing in episode 13. Please tell me annoying scar girl is not going to cause big trouble. Ugh!!!!
It got resolved in ep 16. And angsts are really only ep 13/14. Ep 15/16 is when Shen Yi tried to get Menghui back to her normal self and it’s sweetness overload.

She tried to do that. And Shen Yi, as expected will be full of guilt so he’ll give a lot of attention to scar girl, so it’s a bit angst-y. But he still knows who he loves. And having scar girl will also trigger PTSD for Menghui.
If you’re still thinking of whether or not to watch this, just go ahead and try it and chances are, you'll like it. If you’re burnt out of Cdrama having draggy/filler scenes, try this because it doesn’t have those. If you’re a first time Cdrama viewer and is looking for something to try out, this is it. Just go ahead and do it and you won’t get disappointed. At least in my IMHO. :) I've watched a lot of Cdrama and almost always, I drop it halfway because it gets draggy or plot becomes repetitive or there's just too many unnecessary scenes added. This is one of a very few I watched (the other 3 that I can think of are TMOPB, Minglan and Love 020) in which, each episode keeps getting better and better, no draggy/filler scenes, no ridiculous amount of push and pull between the leads and the ending is just right - I love that they've come full circle with meeting in a bus and in school. It’s a true romcom - loads of sweetness, full of fluff, soooo funny and with just a touch of angst. And of course, the chemistry between our OTP is like fireworks . I love that Shen Yi is already sure, at first half of the series, that he really love Menghui and not because of her scar. And I love that when he realized it, he loves completely and gave it his all (although, it’s still not ok to leave Menghui hanging when Xiaoba showed up. What happened to his promise that Menghui is the most important person to him?). All scenes made sense, including the story of the secondary couples and with LS staff. And Menghui having PTSD makes it more interesting because instead of the usual trope of dating/breaking up/misunderstanding/noble idiocy, every time, it's what leads to a resolution between her and Shen Yi. Also, Menghui on PTSD, is bada$$. I especially love Menghui the high end Makeup Artist and Menghui the CEO. Props to Li Jiaqi for pulling off all those roles. The friendship between the girls is so sweet, they protect each other. I want an Ah Tao to confide my problems with, and a Wei Lei to get rid of my love rivals. Lol. And same goes with bromance of Shen Yi and Sui An. #friendshipgoals Overall, I’m very satisfied with this series and I think rating should be way higher than 8.4. At the very least, I think it should be 9. I’m thinking of rewatching it once all English subs are out. I’m already looking forward to it. On a side note: Our OTP are also the leads in Wait, My Youth (available in Netflix). And given this, watching My Girl seems like watching My Youth, in an alternate universe. LOL.
Just finished watching ep 21-22 and OMG! I’m so annoyed at CJX.In the first place, XY already broke up with…
And I love the story so far, except for ep 22. I actually like it better than the other versions. And Siqi is awesome. She feels what I’m feeling for JX. I want her for my bestie.
Just finished watching ep 21-22 and OMG! I’m so annoyed at CJX. In the first place, XY already broke up with Anna. He chose JX. And then, Anna got an amnesia so they have to thread carefully with her and it’s as if no break up happened. Ok, that’s fine. Pretend for a bit. But then, Anna got out of the hospital, went to XY office, and on lunch scene, XY would like to come clean but JX stopped him. I’m like, wow! That’s a stupid move. Sure, mistakes happened between XY and JX happened. But their issues can’t be resolved by another mistake of lying about the true situation. And so, worth JX so naive and a pushover, Anna took advantage and will then use it to break them apart. Ugh! Stupid noble idiocy. This should be banned from ever being use again in a drama. Because it’s not cute, it’s annoying.
Basically this is a show about Xiyi cheating on his GF with his wife, and his wife with his GF. While Jia Xin…
Lol. True. That kinda bothered me too. It’s a double standard. But I’ll just take the romance aspect of it - and that is, it’s cute to see WXY jealous side whenever he sees Dylan and CJX together or talking to each other. Looking forward to see more of those.
I think there are other discrepancy in the summary description vs what’s actually in the series based on what’s already been shown and preview. 1. It’s not a 7 years separation, it’s just 3. 2. CJX is not a fledgling art director, but an admin assistant of some sort in a law firm. 3. They got married not because of flaring passion, but a mistake on what’s going on while they were on the stage for a “proposal”.
Dylan, at certain angle, reminds me of Park Bo-gum. I’m totally shipping WXY and CJX, but I’m also enjoying Dylan’s interaction with CJX. He’s a true gentleman and he obviously care about CJX.
Done watching 12 episodes. So far, I like this version than K and T drama. While Kdrama is funnier and Tdrama…
I can’t wait to see more of their progress, the heartbreak, the reunion and their patching things up. Now, I need to watch something else to keep me occupied while I wait for Tuesday’s new episodes.
Done watching 12 episodes. So far, I like this version than K and T drama. While Kdrama is funnier and Tdrama has more handsome actor, I think so far, I like the storyline of this Cdrama better. For one thing, I like that the FL’s character development much faster and the ML, more caring. Plus, I love grandma! Yay, grandma for playing the ultimate matchmaker. :)
Looks cute..But the FL is a rookie in acting compared to the ML who has more acting experience and acts more like…
I’ve watched her in Everyone Wants to Meet You, and she can act. So I think she’ll be able to carry her new character well. I also can’t take it when a character is overacting and trying so hard to act cute and instead gets annoying.
