I admit I'm not a fan of characters who live as if romantic feelings are the only thing that matters in the whole universe lol. Both leads are boring caricatures. ML is not complex at all, everything he does is predictable 🙄 he follows the sociopath trope with the "victim of circumstances" justification. FL follows the love obsessed selfish idiot trope with the "wholier than though" justification. This type of fiction is more for young audiences which enjoy clichés and idealize life a lot.
